Yea boi Cue a response from you, YOU'RE A KID, YOUR PARENTS OWN THE HOUSE... etc etc etc I don't care.

I heard there was some snow in Oxford.

I doubt I'd even get to 6 pints of Old Rosie, so I guess that's an achievement in itself! I love my scrumpy's though.
-
We own the fence to our left as you look straight onto our house! Maybe our road is just weird... EDIT: or not perhaps http://www.boundary-problems.co.uk/boundary-problems/fences.html

Brown had the potential to be good sometimes. I agree, Blair was good, infact I'd say he was brilliant, though good oratory does not mean good substance. Do you think Clegg is a better speaker than Cameron? I've seen a Clegg speech live... it is was pretty damn good. Edit: added the not!!!
-
I would have bothered to build alliances the last 6 months rather than bringing out the flashman routine spouting lines to please his backbenchers, but ****ing everyone else off. He was left with no opportunity to negotiate because of his gung-ho attitude. He has utterly failed the country over the last few months.
-
It isn't even a veto though. A veto would have stopped it. Instead, the other 26 countries are just going ahead with it regardless. Cameron changed nothing and lost precious influence and standing.
-
To be honest, oratory is opinion anyway. But back in his early days Brown had a good reputation for good speeches and he was capable of doing it even later on. He didn't rise to the top of UK politics easily. But it declined in his later years... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1545661/How-orator-Brown-lost-his-sense-of-humour.html

I think the real disgrace is that he didn't even bother to consult the Lib Dems/Clegg before he did it. Does he have no respect for the fact that the only reason he gets to prance around these summits as PM is BECAUSE of the Liberal Democrats. Clegg was rightly livid and if I was him, I'd demand concessions elsewhere to make up for this move away from the coalition agreement without consultation.
-
Yes, it'll be interesting to see how it goes. The Liberal Democrat backbenchers have largely cancelled out the loony right of the Tory party up to now, but I worry that might be starting to change.
-
Yer, he is ahead in the polls. The best performing of the 3 leaders at the moment is Nick Clegg, but he is kinda shoved to the background. David Cameron is alright, but he's no Blair(even Brown did better speeches than him in his heyday and was capable of doing better speeches when needed - see the citizens UK speech) and Ed Miliband is pretty awful at the moment, but occasionally does alright like today. Though of course, we shouldn't chose our leaders based on oratory skills!
-
Managed to catch the parliamentary session on my lunchbreak today and thought that Ed Miliband actually did alright(and I am by no means his biggest fan). Cameron looked a bit silly and clueless.
-
He was backed in those two options being the only options by his conduct since becoming Prime Minister though. He has not been diplomatic. I seriously don't think he expected Merkel and Sarkozy to effectively say '**** you, go on then' when he threatened to veto. Plus, he didn't consult anyone it seems before doing it. Most definitely not the Lib Dems(which is why they are so ****ed off, they are in a COALITION after all), and it does not feel like he did the Tories either tbh... also, Hague said earlier Cameron was right not to agree with the deal, not that he was right to veto the whole thing.

The problem is for total economic overhaul, there has to be state intervention. The markets won't commit 100% to for example a green economy overhaul until it becomes evident that it will make more profit in the short term and so please share holders. It won't do it until it is too late. Capitalism and the free market have many great sides, but one of its weaknesses is this which is why it will always need to be balanced with regulation so that the long term can be looked after as well. But yes, Cameron and co need to get involved properly. The green investment bank is a start, but it needs better co-ordination and more resource.
-
Germany has a totally different set up to the UK though, and it would take massive overhaul to make us more like them, and to be honest... I can't see any government taking that leap, just like they refuse to take that leap with the Green Economy. I don't think the solution is to become Germany, Germany has its niche and it works well for them. We need to create our own new niche if we want to move away from our financial sector niche and for me I think we should invest heavily in hi-tech green economy.

Not that I agree with what he wanted, but if he did want it then ge should have been trying to build alliances in the last few months rather than posturing and mouthing off ****ing everyone in Europe off. He's achieved nothing for the UK except to remove us from negotiations about the future of Europe. Maybe if he had been more constructive and diplomatic, he might have been able to use a bit more influence and got some of the safeguards he wanted. Instead, he got nothing.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/dec/10/paddy-ashdown-foreign-policy Paddy Ashdown mostly talking sense. He's right, we aren't an Atlantic nation anymore, the US has redefined itself as pacific and now we aren't really influencing Europe. We're more isolated and uninfluential than we have been for years.
-
If you think that is an essay, you must be a seriously lazy man indeed. Now, this internet posturing is helping nothing and is frankly sad. Back to Marks and Spencers from here I hope!

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?34101-Aldi-Adverts&highlight=aldi There you go. But quickly back on topic again, I have given them a heads up/complaint in an email because they seriously need to be told, but it is a chain-wide problem.

I guess isolation from Europe wasn't in the coalition agreement, so you could be right. I certainly can see Europe ripping not only the coalition apart, but the entire conservative party.

I know, it's up there with your Aldi thread!

Okay, the food in there is generally better than Tesco's and what not, but seriously... they need to sort out their waiting times. It is consistently a 15-20 minute wait for something as simple as a sandwich or a drink. Today in the Southampton branch I waited 10-15 minutes to buy a drink... these waiting times are non-existent in food shops elsewhere. I understand they like to give good service, but I mean honestly... good service means quick service as well. I used to buy a sandwich on my lunch there sometimes, but I just go to Tesco's now because I don't want to spend my entire lunch queueing. And in the Southampton branch, what the hell are they doing merging the queues for self-service and service tills... it makes the wait longer. People who get to the front of the queue and want a service till wait... leaving self-service tills unused and vacant. It makes no sense. Anyways, I know none of you care, but they seriously need to get their act together.

Saints V Blackpool Match Thread and Reaction
Saintandy666 replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Well, we made a lot of chances and the ref was appalling. Could have won despite Barts howler, though I think he looked slightly injured. Something wasn't right there. Guly man of the match though, commanding performance. -
He looked awkward when kicking... is he carrying an injury?
