  1. It's getting so bizarre that it makes you wonder what their game is. Most likely though it's just pure ego and incompetence.
  2. With the games coming up that looks to be that. Even if he goes on Monday it may well be too late now.
  3. I don't think so. He gets to play every week and takes home a good pay packet. If he manages to keep us up he'll be a hero, if he doesn't no-one will blame him. He'll be able to move on to another club if we go down, no way a GK that good will be ignored. He'll be OK. Just enjoy him while he is here.
  4. I think Aaron Ramsdale now has the bit between his teeth and is going to put out a big performance to keep a clean sheet. Archer to nick a goal and Saints to win 1-0.
  5. We rode our luck but a win is a win. It's a start. Ramsdale was excellent, he really kept us in it. Now we need to build on this and get another 3 against Wolves. Still a very long way to go but a couple of wins would do wonders for confidence.
  6. Agree, I'd have Dyche in a heartbeat. He makes RM look like a schoolboy. He will tell them to press high and let our kamikaze defending do the rest. 3-1 to them.
  7. If we have a pitch Invasion can we get the season cancelled?
  8. Come on SR and do the obvious thing. When you are at home and barely scrape past a struggling championship team who are not even trying surely you must realise that he needs to be removed. Presumably you'd like to maintain the £200m or so that comes with being a prem team? Or are you as out of your depth as he is?
  9. Meaningless game and result. Like putting a tiger up against a puppy. City just kept us at arms length and took the points. Everton is what matters. We simply need to get moving or we are done for the season. Play Onachu, Archer, Dibling, Lallana and Fernandez and at least give us a chance in that game.
  10. Osvaldo never fitted here but seemed to do well elsewhere. Not sure if we didn't get the best out of him or if he was never going to fit. Shame as he would have been a hell of a player if he'd had his head straight.
  11. Is there no-one internally that might fit or are they all wedded to the RM style themselves? At least they should have a good idea of what players they have.
  12. I like him, he looks like he has prem quality about him if he's given the service. I want to see him as part of strike unit of Onachu, Dibling Fernandez and Lallana. That is a unit that IMO could score enough to at least give us a chance. With a better manager stiffening up the defence we could and should be way more competitive than we are right now. Not saying it would be enough to keep us up but it should be possible to at least keep us in the mix. Given how much it is worth to the club to stay in this league I can't imagine their loyalty to RM is going to extend much further. IMO they only have a handful of games to change course now.
  13. Yes we were denied a penalty but I always felt that had converted it Leicester would have just scored another. Another game where we concede far too easily because of a manager whose 'philosophy' is fundamentally at odds with survival. On paper Ramsdale, KWP, Bednarek, THB and Taylor should be competitive if coached correctly so why aren't they? It's even more baffling considering the manager was himself a centre half. December looks quite punishing so either we get moving before the end of November or I think that will be that for this season.
  14. Agreed, these are our best attacking options so play them RM.
  15. The championship is a much better league because it is competitive. You can get to the last game of the season with half the league still having to play for something. The prem is the opposite, the top is permanently sealed up by the big boys and even relegation is becoming more predictable with promoted clubs starting at such a disadvantage. It's moribund as well as being commercialised to death. If the top 6 formed a European league the prem would become a lot more interesting for fans, not just the likes of us but the big boys too - they'd have genuine competition week in week out. As long as the domestic leagues had access to this league I think it would be good all round.
  16. The result is pretty irrelevant but in Onachu, Dibbling, Archer and Lallana there may be a workable attack. Add a properly coached defence and a hard working midfield and we could at least be competitive. We were always going to struggle but a better manager would be able to get enough from this team to at least keep them in the final shake up.
  17. Weirdly enough I think this may be closer than we think. This is Saints after all, they lead you to despair only to pull something totally unexpected out of the hat. Also Ramsdale will want to put in an even bigger shift than usual. 6-0 to the Arse.
  18. I've always liked Moyes, a proven decent manager who knows his way around the prem. I don't know if he could get us out of this but I'm sure we'd be a hell of a lot more competitive than we are right now. This team is better than the current performances IMO. Plus I think we'd have a fair chance of landing him. If they are going to change the manager I hope they don't delay - right now would be fine by me. No-one is expecting us to get anything out of Arse so the new guy could at least have a chance of taking a look at what he's got with no expectations.
  19. RM was an average champ mgr who got lucky and is now drowning. There is no learning curve, no understanding of what he's up against and how to deal with it. Week in week out it's the same failing tactics. Why wait any longer? Get someone in who can work with what we have and mold at least a team that is hard to beat. With the right guy I still think we have a shot at survival especially as I think it's going to be a low points threshold this season. Stick with RM and I think we'll be effectively down by Xmas.
  20. If we had a pragmatic manager this is a game we should be looking to grind out a low score draw or a 1-0 win. With RM however I suspect we'll play open football and get picked off again.
  21. If Potter gets the job I'd be underwhelmed but he did manage to keep up a Brighton team not too dissimilar to us at the time. It was boring but also It was no mean feat. We need the same - someone to make us defensively strong and able to hit on the counter. We've got a good keeper, a reasonable defence (if coached properly) and a hard working midfield so lets start playing to our strengths. RM thinks we can take on prem teams playing open football but in reality we are beggars at the prem banquet and the sooner we get someone who understands this the sooner we can get competitive. I would not be excited by Potter but he may be just what we need?
  22. Well a win's a win, something to build on and hopefully gives us some confidence. Positive stuff. If we are serious about surviving this is how we do it - keep the defence tight and hopefully nick a goal or two. Russball is totally incompatible with this. Will RM make the changes needed?
  23. We're not going to win games in this league with RMs style, unless Stewart turns out to be a star (if\when he plays) we don't have good enough strikers to outscore opponents playing open football in this league. We need someone who can organise a defence and make us hard to beat. IMO we do have a defensive unit that could be very competitive with the right coaching. Clean sheets + the odd goal from the forwards is how I'd try to survive. Boring to watch? Yes. Enough to keep us up? Maybe, maybe not but hopefully would keep us in touch. We are sunk with Russball.
  24. IMO the only route to survival or at least a respectable relegation is defence. IMO we simply do not have the attacking capability to outscore opponents in free flowing games. I believe we do have a defence that could be competitive, our GK is good and the back 4, if coached well, could be a decent unit. Grinding out clean sheets is the only survival strategy. Then its up to the strikers to nick enough goals to keep us in the hunt. RM is not going to organise a decent defence in a month of Sundays. If the board don't want to see their money flushed down the khazi we need a manager that can at least make us hard to beat and ASAP.
  25. No threat up front and a defence that is too easily opened up. We look out of place in this league. I thought the board would give RM 10 games but he may be gone sooner. His team is mentally weak.
