Was reading their main forum last night and some of their comments suggest they would be most unhappy if he were to join a club of 'our stature'. There are a few sensible ones on there that appreciate it's premiership football and we have an absolute fortune...but there are many on there that think Wanyama would walk into a top 4 teams midfield...should be going to AC Milan, Inter, Man City...etc...and that it's a step down coming to us... Agree that Celtic are a huge club...their league is appalling though. Wanyama will be missing Champions League Football but will probably be earning 3 times as much here and playing top division. If he uses us as a stepping stone for a couple of years before moving to a genuine powerhouse then so be it..he's only 21 and value should only increase.

I am lost for words... I cannot believe we allow things like this to happen and you get complete bells ranting on about you're average English person getting ****ed off a out these kind of people living in our country! Can you imagine a few hundred English people roaming through... Wherever... Any other country... Shouting... **** your nation....comparable to going round to someone's house for dinner and jumping up and down on their sofa with your shoes on.... And then have people defending your actions!

However ^^ I do think a salary cap 'could' be a good idea over here. Every team in the premier league has a budget of X million... Would make it an interesting shake up.

As a slight side to that.... There is no relegation or promotion in American sports... You are aware (I know you are) that they have basically one division... NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA... And everyone is on a level playing field but there is no promotion or relegation... You are part of the elite group and that's how it is... No pressure of getting relegated or needing to grow... If you suck for 5 years, you know full well that your team will challenge sooner or later through drafting players and freeing up cap space for free agents. The whole system is cyclical... Dominate ... Team gets old... Sucks... Rebuild.... Dominate. So yes... Fair comparison in regulation... But not quite the same unless we completely change our format over here.

Neither do I ... But I also don't believe it's beyond the realms of possibility for things like this to be a set up... There is precedent for it happening. With a bit of research... If you are so inclined... There are all manner of documents that have been released many years after, under the freedom of information act..which basically spell out that the US government will create a situation to later suit their agenda... Whether it be going to war or passing legislation. It happens. Now whether this is such an incident remains to be seen. An iterating read this thread =)
