If Liverpool did ACTUALLY come in for our Nige, cannot for a second see Cortese grift wrapping him over for talks with a good luck card... In my book, this is not the time Adkins would choose to leave for a new project especially when he seems to so emphatically advocate the journey the club are currently living through. My money is on Nigel being here for first game of next season... So let's revisit this thread next season and recall all the forthcoming predictions which no doubt, given this thread, are undoubtedly inevitable...

Upper region? lower half...? front side? ....backside??

From which part of your body does this sneaking feeling of yours come from?

Perhaps Lallana vs Brum at home, remember him destroying Carr that day. However, after due consideration it HAS to be Kelvin v Leeds...

Frank's Cousin, I'm sure like many others on here, your posts are regarded as the product of one of the more balanced and well reasoned posters of this site. When I see the name 'c b fry', that's when the skimming forward commences.

Anyone ever run the words 'irritating', 'tedious', 'monotonous'.... and 'p r i c k' by you before???

Add Hammond and Butterfield, and that list seems to make a lot of sense.

Mutch is a useful young player. -
Hahaha!

Hammonds missus would have smacked me quite a few times if she was watching that game alongside me!

Let's just hope whatever happens, happens for the best of the club

We have to agree to disagree here. Quite a few times he's played this season, and you could just see the distinct gulf in class between other midfielders and him. Running backwards, not tackling, lost count number of times he gives ball away trying to pass it like cork or Morgan etc... Has had good games of course, thought he had a corker first game v Leeds, but as the season went on, he reverted back to type. In MY opinion, the man is not good enough I'm afraid.
-
Thing about cork is, like everyone else he could do some extra shooting practice, however he does seem to have everything in his locker just lacks that intensity on and off the ball! He is young of course so with coaching and development you would remain hopeful but it will be interesting to see how he gets on. Was excellent on right against Coventry.
-
Saying we need better for the position is not at the expense of giving him credit for his contributions in our journey, and certainly credit to him and all the other players for that! However, different league and different needs, I'm afraid if he does play a ole next season, I can see it being a very small one and I will bet hard money on the fact that he will no longer be captain.
-
Don't disagree but, he just ain't good enough is he really? And you're right about Adkins knowing best, that's why he's played him less and less as we've progressed from league 1 to the here and now.

With the 25 man squad rule applying, I would be nothing short of shocked if dean Hammond occupies one of the limited number of central midfield slots available to the squad in the English Premier League. This is irrespective of whether he has bought a house, car, garage, or dustbin whilst here in Southampton.
-
Good points, but no room for sentimentality im afraid, one preoccupied place could be accommodated by a better, more effective player.

No sorry, wouldn't be up for moving stadium outside of Southampton at all. 1st choice is expansion, in the end of the day, the club is at its heart right now, you could say the spiritual home being 'St Mary's If we had to move for overall progress of the club, I wouldn't be totally against it buy it would definitely have to be WITHIN Southampton.

When you say out of town, do you mean out of the city centre or outside of Southampton?
