Never mind the shirt ... what about the badge?
forever a red and white replied to Saint 76er's topic in The Saints
I really like our current badge, no changes please. But some of the designs are quite interesting, if there was going to be a different design, it probably would have been for this anniversary season -
Markus Liebherr Tributes / Walsall Game Tribute
forever a red and white replied to saint peach's topic in The Saints
The big flag was an idea, but we don;t have to rush it through, there are a number of other options to pay tribute to Markus for the Walsall game, and get something proper sortted for next season. Liverpool have the Spirit of Shankly, perhaps we could setup somethnig like the Liebherr Legacy etc. -

To help the process along we could add a poll to determine most popular option, and if this turns out to be giant flag, then vote for designs. -

If someone has experience in getting buying and designing flags thtas great Guess it would be a case of getting a quote for the flag off producer/designer then seeing how feasable it is to raise cash -
Markus Liebherr Tributes / Walsall Game Tribute

Part of another thread but... The Walsall game looks set to be a sell out crowd as the last game of the season, and hopefully we'll have something to celebrate on the day. The Leyton Orient game was a bit of a let down so the Walsall game is the perfect opportunity to pay a proper tribute to the man who saved our club: Someone put forward the idea of getting Swiss flags in: http://www.theflagshop.co.uk/switzerland-flag-231-p.asp or ebay is also an obvious place. Saint-clark has found Swiss flags for £3.00 on amazon. For those with a more expensive budget: http://www.cultzeros.co.uk/southampton.asp?pg=6. Liebherr t-shirts can be found here. If as a collective group, we raised money through the forum and paypal could do a massive flag: http://www.barmyflags.co.uk/flagdesigner.php Anyway thought a sticky would be a great place to generate ideas. This video is from Liebhher's first game at sms, found on youtube: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Song Suggesstions so far: Glory Glory Markus Liebherr and the Saints Go Marching On On On! and Win It For Markus (repeat) -

Why don't we make this a Sticky, keep it in focus, and then can share ideas, there is plenty of time to plan anything being made or contacting the club about. The glory glory song is great idea too. -

Was thinking a few days ago, why not use the Walsall match to really show appreaciation for Markus, maybe with some banner of flags in dedication to him in what will hopefully be a sell-out crowd? -
Barney had a bad time at Orient got stick and gave some back, as a fan or Orient you hate, Lee is a bit of a volatile character but from a Saints point of view great celebration. Swearing mya be a little off but don't try telling us that there is no form of swearing from anyone in the Orient stand of swearing. Game is gone. Three Points. Move on.

Speculation about new kit:

A long collar would look awful, personally hate the new england kit. -
Swedish season kicks off...
forever a red and white replied to david in sweden's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
thanks for the link, 22nd probably seems more viable and would be great to see Anders play. Can you frequently turn up to matches on the day and get tickets, or is there need to book in advance etc? -

Thinking of coming over for a match for 21st, any suggestions, in June? -
Some people around me started singing a Jaidi song to the tune that is played at darts. "Do do do o do do o do do do dooo JAIDI" repeat.

Speculation about new kit:
forever a red and white replied to forever a red and white's topic in The Saints
Of course it is probably one of many designs. Cortese has previously said that the design of the new shirt was almost complete early in the season, which makes me think we are either inclined to stay with the sash as a ready made desgin or follow the Sunderland kit which has been released rather early as well. -
Heard from someone well connected with Umbro that one of the designs for next season's shirt would be that we would keep the sash and have the sponsor underneath the badge, much like they have when the 'Saints Foundation' has appeared on shirts. Nothing for certain.

Thing is though, if your the person who decides to let safe standing back and another accident happens... who would want to be partly responsible for that. There could easily be another disaster and the question would be why was it ever allowed to happen. Sure it has been proved to work, and the idea would be more fun than sitting at games certainly, but more often than not we do get to stand in seated areas at away games from my own experience and that has been just fine.

Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
forever a red and white replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
A draw isn't ideal but by no means a disaster considering we lost two very creative players, but Guly and N'Guessan should be worthy replacements, actually gives them both a chance to prove themselves and the same with Forte as well. Seen the highlights, N'Guessan was well on side, but these things happen. The break will be good, bring on MK Dons. -
now that he is apparently out for the season, i was wondering if we had seen him for the last time in a Saints shirt. I hope not. but we have bigger concerns ahead, 10 nervy cup finals!
