  1. What does that make Hammond comparitavely? They are similar players Brown is better at his job simply. Hacing said that, it would be a perfect time for Morgan to break his Saitns duck and win us the game with an Oakley'esque goal from midfield. Barring that why not one of the local boys like James or Lallana. Hate to be negative/realsitic. Come 12:30 saturday the belief will be back and heart will rule head etc etc
  2. okay all ST holders get priorty. i;m not criticising or stating what any fan does or should do. Just suggesting that the idea is a good one and it would be nice if we could have a more vocal area, so that we can make the most of being at Wembley. I;m not staing anyone sitting other than the Northam shoudln;t or can;t sit wherever is being proposed. Was a slight typo.
  3. hate to say it but no matter what their situation, all of their players are better than ours. Furthermore, you hasve ot give cre3dit, they do seem, under Grant to have found great unity and they will use this to beat us well on saturday. It pains me to say it but Dindane will give Jaidi the run around. Hammond is no match for Michael Brown either. 3-0 Pompey
  4. i was going to start a thread on the same subject. The last thing i want is to finally see saints at wembley and have no atmosphere. Its a great idea and one we shoud look into. Let Northam ST Holders have priorty behind goal
  5. i don't at all. The desire to succed is one thing, but being impatient and putting so much pressure on the manager is stupid. Does he not understnad that throwing money at something doesn't gurantee instant success. Pardew needs time and we, and the board need to give it to him. Next season should be the real challenge. Even if we went up this season, with out current squad we would never stay up. Answer have a mass overhaul. Rarely works.
  6. wage cap should there be one? http://footballmatterz.blogspot.com/
  7. anyobody know who was commentator for game yesterday alongside Dave Merrington?
  8. the owners have done well with investment but i still have my resevations: a) are they patient enough to stick aroudn for the long haul,] b) they need to understand football, we wil not be in the prem in 3 years, not as a sustainable club anyway in terms of squad etc c) is this bit of extra pr on the website slightly turning into the Nicola Cortese show. Hayward refers to Randy Learner, alot can be learnt by the way he has run Villa since being at the club
  9. i really really hope we DON'T get something like that. Our tradition red and white stripes, lets keep it
  10. beating pomey for me, don't think could bare losing to them
  11. football league article as promised. feel free to add to discussion and vote on polls
  12. there will be without doubt. Need to do some Football League stuff, but only one game can surely take the headlines today http://footballmatterz.blogspot.com/
  13. is anyone slightly concerend that this Pompey game is causing too much of a distraction? The mood today seemed very different, particualarly with the crowd. It just seems that every moment is a count down to the game. Personally i can't wait but we can lose focus on the league and the jpt. If we mess these up and then lose to Pompey, the season could be looking very different. Difficult job now for Pardew to keep all players focussed on one game at a time.
  14. got two online but is now stopping me from purchasing more, which is good otherwise a lot of people will begin to miss out on tickets
  15. also they always give u **** seats when you buy online, i want half way up not right at the bottom or right at the top
  16. found it what is the access code?
  17. that doesn;t show on mine....
  18. another problem with this is that the security office is in the corner, so how will it help moving them. I like the idea of having the whole stand but i can;t see it working. Enoguh people will follow the away fans which will lead to the northam failing to sell out thus not creating a kop affect.
  19. maybe staying realistic? or should we be getting impatient sixth months into a season which has cost us numerous times?
  20. A difficult game and a point will do. Three would be nice but we have played so many fixtures with so many different players. Think Waigo could start next game, he seems to score when he plays and has a better final ball than Antonio. If we don't beat Stockport will be more concerened. Davis played a blinder it said so congrats to him for his MOTM performance. also wonder if fitness is a problem for us, or maybe just the amount of games, but something worth considering.
  21. Thought he was excellent. Often enough officials get a real slating, the lino on the itchen wasn't the best but thought the ref made some excellent decisions today. Looked like he may lose control in first five but recovered very well so hats off. Makes a change
  22. considering we have six players out for saturday i would say we are not looking to bad, if keep adding players whats the wage bill going to look like with a fully fit squad...'bloated'
  23. can we stop obsessing about brian bloody stock please. Just because we have been linked with him. There are other midfielders out there, can bring in a loan if we get desperatley short in the middle
  24. you can see the same thing happening on 9th if we reach the final. But for the first leg why run on the pitch? One kid got hauled off by two stewards, and a bloke came down and started having a go at them and shoving them for their actions. What are they suppossed to do let him run. Got no sympathy for those who feel they are harshly treated for runnning on the pitch, there were plenty of police fimling and taking pictures as well, si wasn't exactly clever was it.
  25. just got back by no means a pretty vicotry, we played some very direct football which was not fun to watch. Having said that in these sort of ties when facing a team like MK Dons who like to get the ball down and play you have to stifle the opponent and stay strong at the back and nick that vital goal, and thats what we did tonight. It means we can go into the second leg, and attack and play the football we can. My MOTM today was Lloyd James, no-one was spectacular but he was very effective in his job of helping Wotton protect the defence as well as a couple of good passes. Relished in that position tonight with MS sitting just behind Lambert. Fonte was also excellent alongside Perry winning everything.
