We use both a php and a mysql caching mechanism which removes most of the issues stated there. Reducing page size has almost bugger all effect :/

Wont be changing any look and feel. I'm quite happy with how things are aesthetically at the moment, even tho some of you arent. Lets get this server working properly on new hosting, then open that up for debate, but don't get your hopes up.

Apologies, and for the record, I completely agree with all of you. For me, this is the final straw for this current server set up, we've tried, tweaked and amended as much as we can, and for some reason, even on slightly lesser busy days like today, it just can't cut it. We have a "plan b" which involves a COMPLETE move of the site to new hosting (for the techies out there, Cloud hosting so we can increase nodes on the fly, up to 60 seconds from order). Me and Steve have discussed this before, but now I think its time for it to happen.

Not really mate, mainly as I want to do it in june and the weather is a real gamble, could be lovely like last year or **** like most years. Plus my kids are perfectly happy to fly / drive all day so the continent is easy. Added to that that Ive got the money and time to get them away, and *i* sorta would prefer to be on a foreign beach somewhere too

Planning on taking my boys away somewhere warm and beachlike in June (during term time... tut tut). The eldest has been to Greece before (as have I, many times) so that's kinda first choice at the moment. I would be going by myself with them (both boys, will be aged 6 and 3 at the time). Want to spend around £1k for 5 to 7 days or so. Suggestions anyone?
