Lowe offered his resignation for a slightly lesser decline than that - Reed needs to be put under huge pressure let alone MP. Crowd are just corporate now though, not the guts and steel of the Branfoot era
-
Don’t kid yourself Nick, they’d have been in the same position with Puel and you should just admit it
-
Won’t get one with Reed there though.
-
Accounted for Branfoot and Lowe and can’t see any alternative - all the board care is about is money so let’s stop wasting our hard earned cash until we see some drive come back from them
-
Time to go for Pellegrino Would agree that’s pretty much send us down
-
Same status with Sainta fans as a Pompey player. Deserves the same reception as well
-
And with a severely depleted back line. Can see hatred for MP now, match days are just about to get really miserable for him, just like he’s made them so for us
-
Now was the time for Guan’s social media campaign. Hope the Itchen fans near the end box are issuing Reed and Krueger with some very direct feedback. Last few minutes need to be constant demands for him to go
-
Mp’s miserable tactics for you. Reed and Krueger say it’s positive football. Time to call for their heads
-
Our manager is a total c u n t and Hodgson has adjusted his tactics for the conditions.
-
Worst manager in our history, even than Burley or Branfoot. Everyone could see that coming bar our dumb Sainsbury’s employee in the dug out
-
Spoke too soon, inexcusable sitting back again. Take a point if offered now and get MP out
-
Should leave gaps though and their back line is shocking tonight
-
Good move. Davis needs to retain the ball and Lemina should add some pressing energy to break Palace’s momentum
-
Tadic - not his type of conditions. Although other than in a Serbia shirt, I’m not sure what those are these days Hope he scores now and makes me humble pie
-
Absolutely, that CP back line is a patched up state. Not their fault but have to be ruthless. Crowd really have to encourage forward play and give MP utter hell if it looks like we are going back in our shell and trying to defend the 1-0 like a non league side in the cup
-
Almost up there with Franny’s goal v Leicester for shock value, fair play to the lad
-
Quite, someone else on Zaha now
-
Even a CB. Fonte and VVD were a danger from set pieces before they stopped being bothered. Yoshida is a better finisher than both but doesn’t have the presence in the air they did
-
What did you expect? Brighton v Bournemouth had goals and incidents yesterday but some of the play was appalling and neither of these sides is much in firm either
-
Not as good as Viafara though - hit one of the scoreboards with a shot during the Burley era. Best of all was Frankie Bennett - cleared the Milton second tier with a shot for the reserves
-
Good post and agree with Guan’s as well. Pathetic interview to give before such a huge game and if he thinks that will take the pressure off MP Ralph and Les have another coming. Can’t stand VVD but he can’t be blamed for a 2 year slump. In any decent business top people should always be under scrutiny when a decline is so sharp. Board are sounding as arrogant and out of touch with reality as the Branfoot era. Slumping gates did even for Guy Askham’s fingers in the ears resistance, even when the club struggled to find a short sponsor in the mid 90s, which is why Dimplex stepped in at the last minute to help the club. Shocking for a top flight club but can see some alarming parallels. Needs some drive on that board.

Bit mean of them not to include a hot dog and bun with it! Thinking of the Arnie one-line after being egged - 'that guy owes me bacon'
-
May have nothing to do with concussion at all but also the interview with Chris Nicholl before our LC semi last season (last one was v Liverpool as well when he was manager) one of the papers did. Was in a really bad way apparently.

Liverpool agree world-record £75m deal for Virgil van Dijk
saint1977 replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
Thanks for the info VFFT - very interesting. I think in retrospect I can cope with Liverpool buying him as Saints need to cash to rebuild - the extra £10-15m is another player for us, or a significant chunk of a really decent one. Would have preferred for him to go to City but I'm not sure Pep would have used him as guaranteed first choice after Stones returned from injury, plus Chelsea there are always rumours about Conte leaving, quelled by recent results but never totally disappear. Be interesting to see if there's any impact on a potential arrival for Daniel Sturridge or not - not surprised it wasn't a part-ex as for 2 high profile players plus all the entourages that could have been horribly complex and stopped us moving swiftly in the window as we need to.
