Was it Andreas Braeme the left back with a free kick that got the looping deflection off Paul Parker? Wouldn't blame Shilts for that same as I wouldn't blame Fraser for Sunday. He's made plenty of mistakes this season but that wasn't one of them.
-
Thought it was great when he was infuriated when Boufal backheeled - good on Boufal. Delighted at the result today but was probably grumpy at being forced to pick Boufal, PEH and Austin and then them winning us the game and giving us the performances and goals he's helped starve us of.
-
Well said. Long hasn't scored since February - appalling. Would play Long Weds but save Charlie up for Bournemouth - you know he'll score there.
-
GOALS! Austin made so much difference, so unlucky first half, good headers second although how he ended up with two free headers only Jagielka, Williams and Keane will know. Michael Keane cost what - £27m? Dyche laughing his head off and re-invested well. If MP has been told 'be more positive where possible, or we will have to make a decision shortly' then good, although injuries and suspensions may have forced his hand today. Either way, it was darned sight more positive as a set up. Cedric, Boufal, Bertrand all excellent and joint MOTM to Austin and PEH. Three of that group have been out of the Reed/MP clique but made their opportunity count today. Bertrand looked far more alive with Boufal in front of him, think he'd given up not so much on SFC but having Championship Nathan Redmond ahead of him. VVD poor but he'll be off anyway. Fraser could have brought a Kindle, no chance with their goal. WTF has happened to Morgan? Man U seems to have destroyed him even more than it has Moyes. Being called 'Cowdarlin' on GOT. Also remarked that they wanted to leave Martina back with us. Everton played him at LB Thursday - no wonder they conceded 5.

The only cringeworthy thing is Pellegrino's interview post-match at Anfield. Delusional in the extreme. That, and the fact in the some of the home games I've been to (e.g. Watford) this season we have only had one or two (a real luxury) shots on goal. Not on target, on goal. Setting up like a non league club away to Man City in the FA Cup when playing Burnley at home, that is also cringeworthy.
-
Quite. Look at Sunderland (and Leeds, Saints 05-09, Norwich etc). Coleman is going to need to be buying and selling players every week in Jan to given them any chance of staying up. Villa aren't ripping it up either and they've spent tonnes (with a Chinese owner who does actually seem to have money to invest and wanted to buy SFC). Everyone looked at Newcastle but they had Benitez and a stupidly good side for that level.
-
Hit the nail on the head for the majority of our fanbase I suspect.
-
Does anyone want to send them some footage of Tadic's dives? They get an in-form player banned and we'd get a horribly out of form one banned who Les won't seemingly let the manager drop. Win win.
-
Judging by recent court case, his fireplace might be...
-
Here's hoping! LeG posted after the Burnley debacle that the club was not a happy place and Romeu's comments in the Echo were well put but coded so the fans could easily read between the lines. Really important that Gao takes the choice away from Reed - he cannot be trusted after Puel and MP.
-
Quality post. We had a few years of actually doing things properly, just like Lawrie first time arounnd but now back to bad old days of complacancy e.g. Askham/Reed with no drive to improve.

Gao 'open to offers for Gabbiadini, Long and Austin'
saint1977 replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
Quite. With the same players we looked a threat constantly at the EFL Final and either side of it so it has to either come down to the players reducing effort and willingness to make runs or manager tactics. Far more likely to be the latter. Puel lost the pre and post EFL bravery and retreated into his HBS Euro disaster setting and MP makes Claude look like Ossie Ardiles by comparison in terms of attacking intent or any interest to football being a spectacle. Gabbiadini has shown what he can do with some service and would be moronic to sell him. Get rid of VVD, Forster, Bertrand, PEH, JWP, Clasie, Tadic, Long, Austin first. Oh and Pellegrino and Reed out of the door first of all. -
Did he actually fuc king say that (sorry CB Fry)? What a *****! Must have learning from Les.
-
At least you wouldn't be hungry
-
Les has totally lost the plot. Staff and players, let alone fans, cannot have any further confidence in him. When that happens in an organisation which is high profile, there can only be one outcome. Enjoy your retirement Les.
-
I agree with your post apart from the blatant nonsense about sacking Puel. Did you got to any of the last few games of last season? It was a carbon copy of now. Reed needs sacking now for carrying it on and making more disaster decisions in the summer. Let the manager manage.
-
I get why people are suggesting them - not the right options but after Puel and Pellegrino fans want someone who will care. That's why I'd sack Reed and go for Pardew. Has a bond with the fans, not the best tactically but very good in the transfer market and we need someone to undo the last 3 transfer windows in January. Sell VVD, JWP, Tadic and the rest of the garbage and get some pace and power in.
-
Saints Foreva, you have you wish! I'll start with 'Out' Thanks for some great times Les, but the last 3 or transfer windows have been a disaster and it is your responsibility. Enjoy your retirement.

Sweepstake: Who will "rally the troops" this week?
saint1977 replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Hopefully Koeman, Pardew, Allardyce, Adkins, the Cleaner or even Alpine Saint. Anyone but Reed, Pellegrino, JWP, Redmond etc. -
So would I, or Pardew, but Reed would have to go for either to happen. Does Gao or his daughter have the guts to fire Reed?
-
About time match days got a lot more uncomfortable for Lesley. Sadly, you are more likely to get anti-Branfoot style activity Vs Reed and Pellegrino from a dead sheep. Shame, as the protests and empty seats did for even Branfoot in the end.
-
With a message such as 'Duck Off' ;-) Seriously though, the atmosphere is going to be horrible at the Everton game if MP is still there and we go a couple of goals down.
-
In it's own way, style of play is as bad as Branfoot. MP doesn't even seem bothered half the time and people like that need ejecting at the first possible opportunity. Probably gone if we don't beat Everton but even that is too long for me. However, I want Reed, Black, Watson, Wilson and all of the rest of Les's harem gone as well please by Monday. Kelvin in temporary charge. Would be OK with Pardew until the end of the season, at least he can connect with the supporters, but only an option if Reed sacked (here's hoping)
-
Remember Lee well from the 2007-9 period and moderating well. Seemed a genuinely passionate fan and was doing a lot to try and help brokering various parties to save the club. Tragic news, especially that young. Rest well Lee.
-
Koeman could only return if Reed was sacked. Big Sam - will go to Everton but would sort us out. Adkins - loved him as manager but interim only for me.
