Emotion and frustration. Saw it on the old forum 04-09 when things went bad last time. I’m at the stage of life now where it’s a real shame but the club is run by people thousands of miles away and what will be. Feel most sorry for people at the club that might lose their jobs if we suffer one or more relegation and can’t pay the rent or mortgage

This is the downside to social media. Hope in a lot of ways what you are posting is wrong but probably not. Posting feedback and your views is fine eg Pellegrino out but doesn’t need to be done in a personal way. I have nothing personal against MP but have been a fan since early 80s and with the resources he’s had, he is the worst manager ever. You can’t compare Jan etc as club was on verge of going pop and even Branfoot had fraction of resources

Agree and in a way radio silence at games is more harmful for the future - people protest when they care. 04/05 was awful but exciting with it, hence why the renewals weren’t too bad. Dread to think what they will be like this time
-
Agree with most of that bar the first sentence. Boycotts will make the board fearful in their planning for next season onwards because are those empty ST seats going to renew with the dire defensive rubbish served up? If you think your gates will halve that’s a huge revenue gap and we may have to manage some big earners like Forster who we can’t shift. At least in 08/09 we had kids but played the right way, frustratingin us getting physically bullied at times but the actual attempt to play decent football was there and wasn’t often bored

At Solent Uni IIRC

CB is on fire - need some humour and irony on this board at the moment!

Depends what happens between now and the end of the season doesn’t it? We know Short wants to sell up, we don’t know what Gaos plans even are. It appears he had to borrow to be able to buy the club, whether that was government restrictions on money out of China or planned we don’t know. Either way, the club will have to have a fire sale of the largest earners and who will want Forster etc? We may still have an unpopular manager in charge and if not, paid a lot of compo in the space of 18 months, eating into our parachute money. Staying up would be the first priority next term with a very different first XI to knit together. Rupert at least put some relegation clause reductions in the contracts but the players that seemingly didn’t have those eg Delap were a millstone around the neck.

Will indeed come down to the alleged words and only two people know what they were or weren’t. Holding your nose in itself isn’t an offence - Costa did it to Shawcross - but it’s whether that was aggravated by anything else.
-
I think you are right. Sad if abuse was sent on social media at the time but his comments were in Dec so thread is a bit off context. Just going to damage the club for a long time either way - protests will damage getting sponsors and revenue and keeping MP on will damage the club and local people working at the club lose jobs as happened last time. Very avoidable situation all around. Can’t see myself going to a home game for quite some time

Staying in the Championship in the best hope for next season. Look at Sunderland and Saints are an even bigger mess. I think go down and then could be a Coventry scenario

I agree except I still don’t think they have smelt anything coffee or otherwise. The BS from Kreuger and Reed in the press certainly stinks though :-) -
Make it two Beatlesaint I’m actually having Saltaire Raspberry Beer in real life - not usually my thing but really enjoying it
-
Even cricket has VAR now. That’s a very conservative sport too - albeit my favourite
-
I do think KBSS is right though - it was gates falling to 10 or 11k that did for Branfoot. The protests were long, loud and well publicised, but money talked. That and having trouble attracting sponsors. A few drunken idiots will probably go too far v Spurs, get themselves a conviction and MP still be there.

Whatever you are drinking can you please pour me one too ;-)

Totally agree with this CB, the fact they are planning for the worst case scenario is perfectly normal and responsible business practice. What is getting the reaction is the absence as you say of any sense the board are coming up with an urgent business case for this window to find a Henri Camara - rather than a Bernard or Davenport - and have an experienced manager ready straight away. We are now mid Jan and if you were thinking of joining the club, would you do so with no manager in the latter half of the window? Astonishing from Reed, I think he has some kind of illness around making swift decisions. Owner seems horrifically out of his depth. -
Also away for this one. Predict 0-4 and an ugly atmosphere. If Reed was any of sort of man he’d spare MP that, bloke is out of his depth. Cleaner of the SMS toilets could do better.
-
What do you expect from an owner who apparently failed FAPP first time around? Reed has done his job with the VVD profit as far as he’s concerned and the fawning Telegraph ‘article’ made that clear.

Would be normal part of the planning process including if we were within 8 points or less of the drop zone at this time of year. Didn’t Lowe and the board do some analysis in 04/05 that we could break even on 23k gates and model against other clubs relegated in the preceding 2 years? Club would be lucky to get even half that this time - 04/05 was exciting, in a bad way, but rarely dull. We’ve had 18 months of dreadful football and PR nonsense recently from Kreuger and Reed. Who wants to spend hard earned money on that. -
What a revolting, self aggrandising article. Have no time for Pellegrino and wanted him gone a long time ago but whoever else in the hierachy fed this to the DT they do not have any place at SFC. Who appointed Puel and Pellegrino then? Poor journalism - nowhere near enough critical perspective.
-
Kat spoiled his memory by selling to someone who failed FAPP - although maybe all he ever wanted was a profit fir her? You can’t trust anything or anyone at SFC at present so who knows
-
The whole ML era seems to have been a fake as well. Had some good times out of it but reality now bites. Will take more than administration to free us this time. Could be in Phoenix club territory
-
Shelvey winner I think
-
That Plymouth game at home where Euell got loads of stick stands out, as does Donny home 08/09. Gao has no money to invest so could see us going straight down again

After the abuse at Fulham he definitely will be crying
