I'm bracing myself for a tonking tbh. 3 or 4 nil. I think I'd accept a less brutal defeat and a reasonable performance as a good start. But am assuming it's going to take time for the new-ish system and players to gel. Playing BBD and AA on the extremity of the wings v Getafe was just odd. If it does work somehow, it will take time. I'm assuming 5-3-2 is our default formation?

Well, yeah, for sure. Games against teams close to you are "six pointers"....and to stay up we will also need to snag some points elsewhere. Say at St James Park on opening day....

I think we will be in a relegation battle for sure. Probably go back down, but not much in it. We are viable, I think, but not competitive. But it will be decided by inches. I don't think we will be many points from safety, nor many points clear of safety. Honest guess is about 34 points and 18th/19th. But that's probably one lucky goal away from 16th and staying up.

I agree that if we get 28 points at home...which I think you're saying we will....then we will stay up comfortably. I just feel the wish is the father of the thought here....

I guess I'm a gloryhunter of sorts. Brought up in Berkshire, Reading were sh1t at the time and I wasn't going to support Maidenhead Utd or some such. Asked my Dad when I was about 9 years old who our nearest decent team were as I thought it was daft that most kids at school claimed to support Liverpool. He said Southampton.
