  1. I'm pretty sure that's going to happen before long.
  2. Good luck, mate. It's been a blast.
  3. Lol. Epic trolling. You're right though. The similarity between what Cortese is doing now and being in a sh1t pub near Roots Hall a few years ago hearing people sing "Michael Wilde is one of us" is just uncanny. It's nearly impossible to distinguish the two, in fact.
  4. I don't believe we will make the CL, no. I still reckon we will finish about 10th or so. And getting into the top 6 is VERY hard. But wow this looks good just at the moment.
  5. Sorry to be a pedant about this, but it seems to me that too many football fans focus on the amount spent on transfer fees, when the real financial issue involves 3 things (in no particular order): 1. What's your capital outlay? (ie transfer fees) 2. What are your running costs? (ie wages) 3. What the resale value of your capital? (ie what can you flog your players for?) Looks to me that we're pushing the envelope on point 1 a bit. But we're in okay shape on point 2 (unlike, say, QPR last season or maybe West Ham this season). I think we're in amazing shape on point 3. The Saints squad must be worth £100m+ easily?
  6. Hmmm. Guess I may not be miles off, but am I right that our sales so far amount to zero? What may we get for Billy Sharp or other likely sales?
  7. Bizarrely accurately list of predictions, all in all!
  8. An encouraging start, that's for sure. If we add Oswaldo, that'd count as a very good window (although, greedily, I'd like more!)
  9. Hope we get him. Would this be the end of our acquisitions if we do? Still think we need someone who can play centre back and left back (but seems trail went cold on Astori?)
  10. About 80% of the man of the match votes on here have gone to our 3 debutants. That's pretty damned good news, I'd say.
  11. What a great start. Had us down to lose that one. Suddenly half the squad/team being from the academy doesn't sound too crazy!
  12. Not feeling confident. Our defence looks a bit shaky to me. 3-0 to WBA.
  13. I guess the point is whether he'd be averaging, say, 5 minutes a week at Spurs as opposed to 60 minutes a week at Saints. If those were the numbers he was looking at, I'd say his World Cup chances would be better if he came to Saints. Problem is, of course, you can't know these things in advance (well, unless we offer him a contract similar to Guly's - with a clause guaranteeing him certain rights to play :-) )
  14. I was thinking of spending £12 in the megastore, if I spend £12 on this T-shirt instead, will that damage the club? :-)
  15. Good-ish effort at trolling, but I kind of feel you're losing your touch a bit, no?
  16. I saw a poll somewhere about a year ago saying 1% of Brits support Southampton...so that would be c. 600,000. Maybe 1m worldwide?
  17. Was cursing England until Rickie came on. Knocked over the table and lost three pints of beer when he scored. Roy of the Rovers stuff. God bless a Saints legend.
  18. Blimey. Some real comedy defending.
  19. Nice win. Hope Shaw's not too bad. Defence still looks iffy. How did Lovren do?
  20. I reckon I'm thinking what you're thinking....
  21. Oh gees. This site has hit the bottom. Christ. Moronic stuff.
  22. Top 4 place practically guaranteed now, I'd say.
  23. I'd rather we became the "Saints" as an abbreviation in preference to "So'ton". I'm guessing Wolverhampton fans prefer "Wolves" to "W'ham" too.
  24. A lot. Read "The Numbers Game". The authors agree you can't "solve" association football in the way you can solve a puzzle or croosword, but they sure have some interesting stuff to say.
