Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
SaintBobby replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Definitely need a pacey wide man. I guess we try and shift out Sharp, Barnard, Forte too - any others? -
That might be nearer "world class", very few players achieve that. I'd say having a set of skills good enough to get you into one of the top 20 or so international squads in the world on a reasonably consistent basis.

Without either Shaw or Clyne, we really do seem to look very slow. Puncheon also added some zip when we used him.
-
He's a great player. Just hasn't adapted at all well yet. That's not unusual, sadly.
-
Well, that's cheered me up after a pretty poor performance from Saints. They're down to 18th in League 2 now, no? Sn1gger.
-
Pretty poor. Strange to bring Lallana off. We don't seem to be creating enough.
-
Rodriguez for JWP?
-
groan.
-
Hmmmm....taken off our best performing player....
-
When was the last time we got to 415pm without a single goal in the 3pm top flight games?
-
Very odd he isn't on the bench IMHO. He's one of the most versatile squad players we have. Most be a long time since Cork has been fit and not included in the squad.
-
Hmmm....worrying on full backs. Even more worrying re: Cork.

The top 5 most important goals Saints have scored in the last 5 years

Barnard (?) winner v MK Dons when we came from 2-0 to win 3-2 in League One? -
Thanks for the memories, big man, and good luck.

Here's my formation. I'd drop J-Rod. http://footballformation.co.uk/team/created.php?f=141354

I can't understand what the hell this is about. Is the problem that our safety deposit box is too small to store all the cash coming in from Sky? Bizarre stuff. Is the guy a skate? Or is he just thick? Or both?

count me in!

Was shocked, but unsurprised, to discover that Nathaniel Clyne will be 37 next month. The smoking gun, to prove what we all suspected, is in today's programme on page 44. His date of birth is 29th Sept 1976.The guy is clearly an Ali Dia type con artist. Fire him now. Pretending to be a promising youngster when you're in your late 30s is fraud.#appalled

Post Match Reaction & MotM: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland
SaintBobby replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Very pleased with pretty much everything today, expect the result (although I would obviously have taken a point by the time we were still 1-0 down with 3 minutes to go). Voted for Wanyama as MotM, I thought he was immense, that's the first time I'd seen him play and he was everything I hoped he'd be. Sunderland are pretty dire, a bottom six team if they're lucky. They may improve as/when they "gell", but if I was a Sunderland fan I'd take 17th now. Really good start to the season. I think J-Rod is okay, but not in our best eleven. He's a bench player. Ward-Prowe was a revelation. Surely his best performance ever? Ramirez looked good and Oswaldo is very exciting. If you offered me 12th right now, I don't think I'd take it. -
At 9/2 Sunderland are a good bet to beat us tbh.

Am I right that signing "does your boyfriend know you're here" now gets you a 3 year ban from all English football stadia? Not saying that's right or wrong, just seeking to undertand the rule.
-
As others have said, far better to spend the money promoting the #saintsfc hashtag. That way, utterly f***witted people in Asia will suddenly get a twitter account and start cheering us on. Especially as we play in red (which all people in Asia associate with lucky dragons, snakes and serpents, thereby guranteeing our top 4 status)
-
This is going to sell out , right? But only just. That would indicate that 32k is about right just now (although I'm sure we will be at higher capacity in a year or three)
-
Have to buy this. Worth £10,000 surely once we've branded properly in the Asian market?
