Let's wait until we get 3 points, then this becomes a good result
-
Let's not make this game about Liverpool and Lallana and co, let's get behind our own team and make sure we win
-
Feel this is more of a must not lose than a must win. It's vital we keep a decent gap between ourselves and Liverpool. I know they've improved but I haven't been overly impressed by them. Hopefully a decent rest will work for the likes of Pelle and Tadic. This could be the game that reignites their seasons.
-
The pressure is all on them I'd say, they will still be expecting fourth. I ****ing hope we put their good run to an end though!
-
We're more ready than a lot of teams. **** it, let's give the Europa a crack next season, even if our league form suffers for it. Otherwise what's the point?
-
Surely though we're better off taking points off our rivals to maintain a gap? I'd much rather beat Spurs and Liverpool and lose at West Brom and Leicester for example (ideally I'd like us to win all of them).
-
Our darkest hour, did we lose the game? Obviously it's looking like we're going to come up short, we've got good depth in most areas but having only one out and out striker is going to cost us. I'm not blaming anyone, we signed Long, and maybe the club thought J Rod might have been back sooner. Pelle needs a break, I'd think about using Mane up top for the Liverpool game. Might be worth going all out to get Benteke in the summer, then we wouldn't be too far off having a squad that can challenge again.
-
Too much expectation on him, we are always taking a risk by only having one real striker in the squad. He's having a bad time of it, but the goals have dried up in general across the team. Hopefully he will find his scoring boots against Liverpool.
-
Mane seems to be our only game changer. Pelle's off form, but he's our only option and can't be blamed.
-
Fair enough, you're entitled to dream, hope it comes true for you. 20 shots on goal is great if you put some of them in the back of the net
-
Great. Can't wait for him to explain how we are still 4th and could mathematically still win the league. Let's just ignore the fact we've dropped 5 points in 2 home games.
-
Plenty of other teams will come to us and set up like that. The Swansea game and tonight have proved we are simply not good enough at breaking teams down. Pelle's really lost his shooting boots too. One point from two home games is not CL form, sadly. The dream has ended. Massively disappointing. We just have to try and grind out a few more wins to make the Europa League
-
It's not going to get any easier, West Ham are still going to be incredibly difficult to break down
-
Not happening tonight, Swansea all over again
-
You can find a 1000 posts like that from the summer. Once RoKo came in and started building a team I realised we would be fine. No one could have predicted we'd be doing so well. Anyways, enough of this, let's focus on the game tonight and getting 3 points.
-
Lol, now that's just complete bull****. Don't try and jump on the bandwagon against me by making stuff up
-
Yeah I changed my mind after reading that Spurs are an 'absolute shambles' and a 'complete and utter mess'.
-
More interested in the top 4 personally
-
You usually like to comment on what a poor side Liverpool are, so it should be a routine victory for us shouldn't it?
-
Think everyone needs to stop worrying so much about the other sides around us. It's in our hands, if we don't finish fourth or above it will be because we weren't good enough. It's almost as if some are finding it difficult to accept that any team might get some points from this games.Let's just make sure we get three points tomorrow.
-
Yes, essentially we needed 6 points from every 3 games prior to the Swansea game (assuming 72 will get 4th. So really we need to beat West Ham, then win 2 from the next 3, and repeat as necessary. Easy.
-
Exactly, hopefully come Wednesday night we will have a nice gap over them and Liverpool.
