In a way maybe the Palace defeat was a bit of a wake up call. RoKo says the team have had a good week of training. As mentioned, if we get the first goal I think we'll see them off comfortably. 2-0 Saints, Pelle x 2
-
Strange how we all worry about the form of others when we are top of the form table! Next weekend both Spurs and Arsenal may drop points. The key games are against Liverpool and Spurs, even a draw would be ok against both, just vital not to lose. One game at a time, I think if we lose to day people will be worried, but we're playing Swansea at a good time.
-
The others around us will drop points. The worrying thing is, I think it's fair to say we've been playing to our maximum potential so far this season, whereas the others around us haven't. It's vital we stay ahead of our rivals, if we drop a few places and have to play catch up, it might be too much of an ask.
-
It really is. It's important to remember we've been ahead of most of the other sides for the majority of the season. Just have a feeling it'll be too difficult for us if we're having to play catch up. A long way to go, but even tomorrow is a must win game
-
Predictable set of results. We really do need 3 points tomorrow
-
2 0 Spurs. Massive pressure on us to win tomorrow now, can't see any of our rivals failing to win
-
Yeah he is definitely the player to replace Morgan, especially if we qualify for the Champions League
-
I don't get some of the reactions from people. He is a good player, but clearly not going to play ahead of Schneiderlin and Big Vic. Not a massive loss, RoKo obviously has faith in Reed, who's impressed in a few games. Cork's been a good servant, wish him well at Swansea
-
Did we score many late goals under him though?
-
I imagine he'll make the bench at best, I'm sure RoKo hasn't considered him in his plans for the game anyway

The Run-In: 2014/15 - The Race for Europe

Fair point, but we've been higher than that all season, as strange as it sounds it would be disappointing. I wouldn't be too downhearted finishing 5th if it meant being above Spurs and Liverpool. The pressure will really be on us this weekend, it's hard to see any of our rivals slipping up. The weekend after the North London derby is the early game. -
The thing is Man Utd are an established big club and will be hanging around the top for a long time. We've got a decent chance of fourth, but it might not be sustainable. I'd still expect a few to leave even if we do, Clyne, J-Rod and Morgan for starters.
-
I'll be doing the same, the odds will be decent on most of the teams we have to face. I think we will be favourites now in every game we play apart from Chelsea and City away. The draw no bet market works well, although I've happily been doing my money right in for the last 6 weeks!
-
Agreed, we've maintained this level for a long time now. If we lost a CL qualifier would that still guarantee a Europa League spot? Can't remember how it works
-
Think some people are getting ahead of themselves. It really is a case of taking it one game at a time. I'm still quietly confident but, people won't like me saying this, the dream could be over in a short space of time. A run like November/December at any time will kill our chances. However, they were some tough games and hopefully we have learnt from it. It's difficult to know how we will deal with the pressure as it's not a position we've been in before. Feels strange to say it, but even finishing 5th or 6th will be disappointing now
-
Would have been nice to increase the gap. Although really nothing has changed
-
Arsenal 2 up. Not looking good for us
-
Do you actually think they bother watching any more games than your average fan?
-
I think we are in a favourable position having already played Arsenal and Utd twice, plus games against Spurs and Liverpool are at home. Ive not really checked our rivals' fixtures, too worried about our own!
-
Exactly, 6 wins just isn't going to happen.4 wins and 2 defeats is realistic enough though, it really doesn't matter who we drop points to though. I think we will beat Swansea, QPR and West Ham games will be trickier. It's more important for us to beat Liverpool than it is West Brom or Crystal Palace. It is a great time now to be a fan, but so strange when we have to check the results of Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs!
-
I think we need to look at it as 5 blocks of 3 games. We need 6 points from every 3, which would put us on 72 points, then there's the Man City game. So not every game is a must win. It's crucial now that we don't put too much pressure on ourselves. So yes, anything less than 11 and we might be playing catch up
-
We just keep on doing the business, best win of the lot today! Awful first half, but then took control. Do we have a lack of depth in our squad or is this just becoming a myth? Reed was great, and Elia was incredible. #itshappening

Great foul from Long
-
So nervy, Newcastle aren't too threatening, but we still need another to kill them off
-
A great option to have. Koenan has made the right subs at the right time. Long might have done well if he started, Newcastle have played the ball back to Krul a lot
