  1. If we're buying a midfielder we need one who scores goals. I've mentioned Mitroglou before, not sure how realistic that would be as he's been linked with other teams. Plus Olympiakos are still in the Champions League and they're only playing Man United in the last 16
  2. Peaks and troughs. We've had both, so it is likely things will level out this season. 9th place finish and FA Cup semi final defeat against Liverpool
  3. Yeah Mayuka's only had a few games to prove himself. We like to allow our foreign signings at least 2 seasons of not doing a lot to finally confirm that they aren't very good
  4. Waste of space. In an ideal world we'd get shot of him before the window shuts, but it doesn't look like anyone's coming in. It is a blow for squad depth, but if we're honest he's contributed **** all and we've largely got by without him
  5. Yeah it would be stupid to risk players in a competition that we have a chance of winning. Let's save them for Arsenal, we might just stay in 9th place if we beat them!
  6. I think there's a lot more to come from J Rod. Maybe in 2 years time he might be worth 20 million, but right now absolutely not
  7. It feels like J Rod could have a hat trick every game recently. Creating chances certainly wasn't an issue against Sunderland
  8. He'll be gone in the summer. I just hope it gets resolved early on, and that we get a decent fee for him
  9. This might be all we have to play now. Get through this game, and it might be a big factor as most other teams left in will have either relegation fears or european commitments/aspirations which might be deemed more important. I think most fans would be happy with 8th/9th place and the FA Cup
  10. I think he needs a rest for a couple of weeks. Maybe MP realises this, but it's difficult when Osvaldo is busy getting injured or suspended. Osvaldo hasn't really done a lot when he has played to suggest he is first choice. Hopefully he will be raring to go having had a nice break over the festive season
  11. No. He's a legend already, and owes us nothing. For whatever reason, by his own high standards. things haven't been going as well for him in the last couple of months. However, it looks increasingly likely that West Ham will be going down to the Championship and I think he will stay. Many on here think he's finished all of a sudden but I disagree. On soccer sarturday, Merson claimed he would love to go there. MLT asked why, but got cut off, although he kept quite quiet throughout whilst the others were discussing us
  12. He's going to have to chip in with a couple of goals to get back these points he owes us. To be fair Johnson hit it hard and it seemed to catch him out a bit, I think with a lot of keepers the outcome would have been the same. But until we are the best club team in the world winning 6-0 every week there will always be people questioning if our players are good enough
  13. Nice goal from J Rod, but some of his efforts when through on goal were simply tame. It was the same against Burnley as well. It's harsh to criticise him as he's improved massively and I think there's more to come, but a more clinical striker would be scoring 2 a game for us with the chances we create
  14. Personally, I can't see us catching the teams above us, or falling down any places. Our defence without Lovren is a whole different proposition. However It does sound like it might not be as bad as first feared. I just hope we go all out to win the FA Cup, starting with a convincing win next week against Yeovil
  15. It's not being disrespectful to Sunderland, or arrogant of us, to say we should have won. We dominated them, and should have put the result to bed in the first half, or in the first 10 minutes of the second half. If Lovren's out for a while, that's the season over for us I'm afraid as it looks unlikely we'll bring in a replacement. And as for those saying Osvaldo is back, what the **** has he done other than that goal against Man City?. lastly, who is going to own up to mentioning Altidore as a good signing in the summer? I laughed at it then, but today he proved beyond all doubt how bad he is.
  16. Furious with the result, I remember after half an hour thinking it was a nice relaxing game to watch. It's strange because we played well, but you have to put your chances away. Any side above us would have closed that game out, let's hope we learn our lesson. It's lucky we're sitting in ninth. Another positive is that no one seems to be fazed by Cortese's departure. But in 20 years following us I have never been no angry or disappointed in a result
  17. We've lost this now for sure
  18. This is getting stupid now, I for one will be fuming if we throw this away. We're playing brilliantly, just need that third
  19. It will be nothing short of embarassing if we don't take 3 points. Sunderland can't be as poor, expect to see Fletcher come on in 2nd half
  20. Will there be a decent stream available seeing as its on BT sport?
  21. Sunderland must be worth a bet at those odds. Just need to wait for confirmation from Glasgow whether they'll win
  22. There's plenty of rumours about today, unsurprisingly. I think Lambert, Lallana and J-Rod (if he hasn't given up hope yet) are certainly better off staying here where they are key figures in the team and all performing well. It would be a massive gamble for any of them to go (possibly not Lambert). I expect them to all wait until the summer to decide, because right now nobody really knows what's going on
  23. Absolutely shocked by what I've seen in the Sun, KL caught smoking at a game
  24. Can't wait to pick up my copy of The Sun to find out exclusively who is going where, and for how much
  25. The whole players leaving story just makes everything look a bit more dramatic in the papers, that's all.In reality, half of our squad aren't suddenly going to leave. If Shaw wants to go to City or Chelsea it won't be the end of the world, he will go soon anyway. Can't see Lallana going, don't forget he was with the club a long time before anyone had heard of a man named Nicola Cortese. Is it not going to be more difficult now for clubs to try and sign our players, is KL dealing with transfers or someone else?
