We Spent Nearly £40mill on Mane, Long, Forster and Gardos
Deano6 replied to Pastor Patrón's topic in The Saints
We are the new Spurs. Or Liverpool. I forget which. -
He's over 6 foot 4, so you'll have a long wait! Odd comment when the person in your example isn't even 6 foot. There are plenty of examples of tall, successful footballers (who would have been taller than their peers as a youth).

Why did it decline then, O Lord? Sour Mash says the question got it right. Is he correct or are you?
-
Yeah me too! The rest of the population are morons!!
-
But that's the point - nobody's telling him to stop saying Happy Christmas...it's just providing an option for those who want to include other religions' holiday festivals also. What I don't understand is the "bigotry is better - f**k those other religions" bunch. Not those who say "Happy Christmas" (as I do), but those who pour scorn on others who don't.
-
You do realise other religions exist, right? And that there is no shortage of Christmas cards which mention Christmas.

I'm sure he's good and everything - he has always looked very composed, never been shown up and has a terrific dead ball delivery - but my question is what does he really do in a game? He doesn't deliver the incisive final pass, he doesn't beat a man, he doesn't put in big tackles, he doesn't shoot, he doesn't pop up in the box late to smash one home. I mean this as a genuine question, rather than a thinly-veiled insult. I'm a bit guilty of remembering the "big moments" of the big tackles / goal chances etc, so interested to hear more about what his value is to the team over and above any of the other players - where I'm much clearer what their roles are for the team and what their strengths are. At the moment I'm just not getting what Hodgson is seeing in him over our current crop of England midfielders.

So we just need to fail to qualify for CL and then he won't make the choice!

Relax everyone, I've solved the Morgan song problem...
Deano6 replied to Deano6's topic in The Saints
This song sounded great yesterday!! Really glad it got off the ground (so many don't). I never really knew how new songs get started before, but was very proud to hear it being belted out on the terraces - and it looked like Morgs really appreciated it too! Be great to hear it being rolled out now at Villa Park, where our rowdy away support should see it really catching on! -
No fear! I have a very big ego but thin skin - sounds like I'm best off avoiding this zoo.
-
I don't like people taking the píss, so I'm going to stick to the Northam.

Mods - can we remove this guy? His negativity is bringing down my otherwise delightful thread. -
Maybe one day you'll be trusted enough to be given stuff that will fill your entire 7 hour workday.

The problem is that they're sh!t. Unlike this one, which is boss. Remember he only decided to play for us at the start of the season because we sang him a song. “So I started training, I took pleasure in touch the ball, I really needed to play football, and I was made to play against Liverpool. At Anfield, all fans of Southampton applauded me and my name was chanted. It has warmed my heart. I knew then that I would spend the season at Southampton.” Link At home v Hull, 4-1: I think he's done quite enough! -
In candy stripe shirt the Spiderman comes Softly through the shadow of the evenin' sun Stealin' the ball off the blissfully dead Looking for the victim shivering in bed Searchin' out fear in the gathering dark And suddenly a movement in the middle of the park And there is nothing you can do when you realize with fright That the Spiderman is having you for dinner tonight

The first 12 exams are all the same no matter what area you're going in to, then the last 3 let you specialise in terms of where you want to go, eg Investments, Life Insurance, General Insurance, Pensions, Enterprise Risk Management. And it's true, you do have to be a maths bore - just like Bletch's children.

How long had you been married before you caught her on there?

While you don't technically need a degree, it is basically expected and you won't find many employers anywhere that would take on a student without one. It's a very competitive profession to get in to. You then also have 15 very difficult exams to pass over the next 5-7 years. http://www.actuaries.org.uk/students/pages/how-register-student

I won't be I'm afraid. The old knee problem's flaring up again. Thank you for your kind words tho.

Saint No Stopping U Now. I liked Dean Richards. He wore number 6. I actually had a home shirt from around that time (one with the really big black collar) which had Deano and number 6 on it, but I only realised the connection (that I had used my screenname verbatim from my shirt, looking like I had a shirt made with my username on it) much later. Sorry for not having a better story. I am too busy these days for frivolities.

So it's not even his team. We've just looked at a side picked by a committee that includes one relatively well known person?

Saints vs Sheffield Utd (A) Capital One Quarter Final
Deano6 replied to Bearsy's topic in The Saints
To be fair, Sheff U were probably one of the only teams in the draw not saying "anyone but Southampton". Them and Bompey of course. -
How about calculating Pearson's rho on it, or Kendall's tau? +0.4 is pretty significant, HTH. It's not a question of needing to be 100% correlated to have merit. Plenty of things have small positive correlation, such as the number of people who post about statistics vs the number of people who understand the subject.

Ronald Koeman says he wants to sign Ryan Bertrand on a permanent deal
Deano6 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It's such a shame we sell all our players on structured deals but insist on buying all our players with cash up front. We appear to be the only club in the world who does that. Unless...the Bertrand deal might be similarly structured? -
Yes we will. We will be the only team to finish 7th in the Premier League in 2015. No one will be able to take that away from us.
