Perhaps it's not the sort of thing you think about as a player, but would Ramsdale want to risk another relegation on his CV? (Not that he wouldn't be in a similar position in 12 months if he stays with us and we have a decent season...) It's probably daft, but I'd mind less if he goes to a solid mid-table Prem team rather than one closer to our level.
-
Barely good enough for the Championship, miles out of his depth in the Prem, and too old to learn. We had a golden opportunity to shake Jack's hand and move on at the end of this season. He must give a bloody good turndown service... 🙄

Was also going to 'sad face' comment about Stephens being so heavily included in the promo shots, but then JWP was for the 23-24 kit launch, so... 🤞
-
Bit my tongue to make sure the leaks were accurate, but it's an absolute dog. Not a particularly accurate take on the original kit, nor a decent modern reimagining. And what the hell are the two different reds all about?! The P&O sponsor has been done poorly; that black stroke around it is too thick - and it's unfortunately just not an aesthetically pleasing logo for the centre of a kit. Starling has tended to look much better on the women's kits, but of course they've given that the 'block of white' treatment. Can see it being a particularly unflattering shirt on overweight fantasist blokes, to boot.

As other have said, you should be fine. Additionally worth bearing the official ticket exchange in mind - as if a match sells out, there's generally dozens of season ticket holders that list their seats for resale.

Skates H on 13th September, A not showing yet.

BBC has updated. Wrexham H first, if correct.

"Swiss outlet Blick noted that the match saw Switzerland's women's team use 28 players in total, with their third-choice goalkeeper playing for the U15 side in one half. Four players were absent, including their captain and Arsenal star Lia Walti." Sounds like it was also an odd format kickabout, broken up by multiple breaks. But yes, ha ha ha - women! 🙄🙄

Bring Caleta-Car and Maitland-Niles back to their spiritual homes. ❤️

Ooh, remembered another one from 2014. I'd popped into the Chilworth Arms after work and was sat in the garden. Then Pochettino arrived and sat a few tables away (with a woman I've forgotten the name of - believe she was the Saints club secretary at the time?) I posted a 'covert' photo on Twitter back in the day and there was a bit of discussion about why he was there, as it was a few weeks after he'd defected to Spurs. For all I know he was just back to sort out selling his house, or something similarly innocuous.

Don't know whether it counts as 'bumped into', but Benali was my landlord for a year after I moved out from my ex. In the first week I answered the door to him whilst still in my pyjamas (he was dropping a spare key 'round). 🤦♂️ The garden was a right old state initially - but I didn't expect Franny himself to get out there with the mower! I was a better tenant than Cortese and my deposit was returned in full. 😁

Been a while since last "where are they now (posters)" thread?

I could be wrong, but I suspect Nineteen Canteen has another username on here now. -
Can quite clearly see Zidane vom just before taking the penalty.

Oh, fuck it. Can't miss the derby. We'll cut back on something. 😅

15 minutes to go... I'm still wrestling with it. Getting married next year and funds are tight all-round. 😬

There's a skill to knowing when you've had the best from a player and when it tips into cashing in. Ideally whilst there's some residual value/before you hit the diminishing returns. If he were a year or two older, I'd say it'd be clearer cut to decide that; if he had another year on his contract (which runs out in 2026), it'd be more obvious to keep him - as he'd still be a saleable asset in 12 months. As it stands, I'd be tempted to offer a year's extension to his current and see how this season goes with him. Though if there was the option to clear out our entire front line I'd probably take it. 😅

Then Ankersen sat across from us at the Fans Forum and (straight-faced) told us they'd given Jones the "weapons" and "tools" he needed to deliver. There was at least one weapon and/or tool in the room...

Imagine giving a single flying shit about finishing 17th when you've just won the Europa League. (With the delicious subtext of sending United into a downward spiral). Up there with those gunning for us to finish 8th (in a division that we can longer stay in) rather than focusing all efforts on adding a major trophy to our spartan cabinet.

Corporate brand guidelines may put paid to that. There'll be dos and don'ts about exactly how the logo can be used. Pages and pages of it. How it being stuck on an awful square is aesthetically better, I don't know. But it is what it is.

Late bump, and wildly off topic, but when I was at uni there was somebody called Amy living in the same halls. Don't know whether she'd mentioned me or WTF was going on, but either way Corp Ho PM-ed me on Saints Forever saying "I've been in your corridor" (ooer). As he'd visited the halls and banged her. Awful, objectionable person; performatively loud (her... I never met him).

Bristol, Southampton & Brighton are the craft beer capitals of the south. The Dancing Man's concession stand(s) are a start, but we should celebrate it far, far better.

Absolutely beggars belief that what was left of our lot clapped & cheered the players round at the end. -

Makes me wonder how many people are in the same boat. The players have been afforded almost ceaseless support - with the only noteable ire directed at managers. We've had excellent takeup on home & away tickets throughout. Is it admirable? Or acceptant to a fault? Either way, there can't be too many qualms if the crowd turns on the precious darlings once the season's over. -
He can have a package deal for ~20 players (T&Cs: our selection), as far as I'm concerned. A likely one not named thus far is his buddy Manning.
