  1. I would like Green to join us, or Robinson, or Foster, as I feel all are good EXPERIENCED 'keepers who would give Kelvin serious competition and, most probably, end up making him the bench warmer. Butland would also be nice as he has potential and will probably become a better 'keeper than the aforementioned. However, I think we will end up signing someone thus far unmentioned on this thread. But, whilst I am here, for all those stating how much better a 'keeper Green is than Kelvin, can you please explain how Kelvin was voted into the Champ team of the year ahead of him by the players who played against both last season? Seriously, if Green is so much better why was he not voted the best in the league?
  2. So wage deferrals have come to 1.84m in just 5 months = about 368K per month. Football creditors owed almost 8.5m from the 14m PP remaining = only 6.5m remaining - and that won't be available to be pocketed until well into next year.......
  3. This mirrors my own thoughts, especially the Chinny liquidating them himself once he has syphoned off everything else he can get his hands on. It is certainly in his best interests to run the liquidation process (probably through AA) than let Birch do it.
  4. I'm pretty sure it was Pompey who gave said players such high wages; and I'm pretty sure the PL have been issueing PPs to compensate for them. Stop whinging!! If the PL had not increased the PPs the exact year the Skates went down they would have been extinct already!! N.B. This post is, of course, aimed at d!ckwad Allen - not Trousers.
  5. Careful, I think Sour Mash has copyright to that saying on this thread! In fact, I am certain he told us all weeks ago that this thread was going to be closed within 24 hours - or maybe he was trying to be ironic comparing it to all the statements of Pompey soon to be toast? Anyway, we are still here waiting for the glorious day - and the next day of reckoning is less than a week away!!!
  6. Taken from SD website: [h=2]What do we do? [/h] Supporters Direct campaigns for the wider recognition of the social, cultural and economic value of sports clubs Sports clubs and competitions are increasingly being put at risk by short-term vested interests, poor financial management and inadequate standards of governance; we are the UK's leading body working to ensure that clubs are run responsibly and are financially sustainable Supporters Direct aims to create the conditions in which supporters can secure influence and ownership of sports clubs Supporters Direct provides guidance and support to groups in more than 20 countries throughout Europe Supporters Direct promotes the value of supporter ownership to sports fans, empowering them to set up supporters' trusts or become members of existing trusts Supporters Direct is a community benefit society, owned by its members And then they go and appoint Lampitt. Well, I suppose he knows all about the highlighted point; apart from the bit after the semi-colon!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I doubt many hinge on the FCR, as I doubt the players ever really think much about it. However, if it didn't exist I would imagine most players would take into consideration the financial state of their prospective future employer and whether or not there was a chance of them going under and thus said player being severely out of pocket.
  8. I like this idea!!
  9. You're right, it isn't a concern for any of them, not being paid wouldn't cross any of their minds because they are 100% guaranteed to be paid every penny of their contract.
  10. Easter was an old Saxon festival (to the Goddess - Eostre) before Cristianity came along. As for Jubilee celebrations..... obviously no street parties here, but us ex-pats, the Embassy staff and selected guests will have a bit of a bash (p!ss-up).
  11. rallyboy, I don't know what your occupation is, but if it isn't comedy writing it could be the wrong one; and you could be depriving the nation of many laughs. As always, most excellent. I particularly liked the highlighted bits!
  12. Or, Balu buys them anyway and they exit admin without a CVA? Okay, this will mean a points deduction, but I don't think Chiny would be too bothered about that. He wants his money, everything else is secondary. Plus, the FL could then ignore the failed CVA1 saying they already have a penalty for a failed CVA (2) and then go amend the rules so other clubs cannot just blow off CVAs as the Skates did.
  13. Excellent!!!!!!
  14. Hang my head in shame......... I check this thread religeously, often a few times a day. I have read virtually every word of every post (I skipped some of the boring, deluded, repetitive stuff in some of Ho's posts). When returning from times away from home without much inter-net access it has taken me days to catch up. And yet, including this one, I have only posted 171 times on this thread. So, yes, should I ever meet any of the likes of Trousers, DP, Rallyboy, etc, I think I need to buy them a beer or 2 for the entertainment they have provided me. Thanks guys!!!
  15. I think 6/7 of those above will be sold/loaned/simply not included in the 25 man squad. Namely: Forecast Dickson Seaborne Puncheon Forte Barnard Possibly - Chaplow Hammond The 4 new additions are under 21 so do not need to be included, yet give us 3rd choice rb/lb and extra midfield cover.
  16. The injured Tadanari Lee? I also have a feeling that Lee will be great in the prem - and certainly hope so!!
  17. Some money out of the first team budet? With no new owner and only Chiny as their likely saviour, TBH's wages will take up the entire first team budget on their own (unless they are looking towards yet another admin - should they avoid liquidation!)
  18. 100% this. Every time I have seen AOC play for Arsenal this season he has been one of the best players on the pitch; Downing has been dross all season!!!!!
  19. Oh, how I would laugh if the FL decided to fail Chiny for the FAPPT!!!!!!
  20. I have always found this to be the easiest way - just move the decimal points out and put them back again at the end.
  21. If the Euro were to fall against the pound (as I expect it might should Greece implode) it would be better to wait. Certainly, the Euro has fallen against the dollar today because of the fear of a Greek implosion. However, I doubt it will change too drastically. So even if you are going to exchange a few grand you may only save enough for a couple of beers by waiting. But a couple of beers is a couple of beers!! (Just my opinion though - I am also no expert.)
  22. Bolton
  23. Our next prem match to be the same as our last - ManUre at SMS. Except this is the new, reborn, Saints and we will win this time!!!!!!!! This is my dream scenario. (But I have a feeling it will be Citeh away.)
  24. Got to agree with this. A consolation of Blackpool losing would be if we were to make a bid for Matt Phillips.
  25. And this thread just proves that some people are never happy, no matter how good it gets.
