People forget just how good MLT was. You can go to most places in the world and people of a certain age know of Saints for one reason, Matt Le Tissier. I was in Edinburgh this week on BUSINESS talking with a multi millionaire businessman who was a Hearts fan and once we'd stopped talking work our first subject was who do you support, when i said Southampton he talked for about 30 minutes about Le Tissier and how he was one of the greatest players he'd ever seen. So many of the dumballs on here who told him to STFU when he (rightly) critised their pint sized hero should hang their head in shame. He was the best player to ever play for us and kept at times a terrible team in the premier league year after year and we will never see his like again. There are certain people who have a right to never pay for a ticket at a club and say what they want about it. He is one of them for us, our Bobby Charlton. It's no exageration to say if he had done a Lallana we'd have been relegated and could be in a postion like Coventry, Sheffield United or Wednesday have been over the last 15 years.

Tell them you know some proper naughty people and if they don't stop parking their jam jars across your tut and shive you'll open them up like a tin a beans. That'll stop them making you look a Toby.

This is the place to come for for all sorts of advice young Michael! My driving instructor was a proper bellend, I can't remember his name, on the day of my test he turned up In a different car which due to being inexperienced I kept on stalling on my test which stressed me out and of course I failed that one. I sacked him and moved to BSM, the guy also a bit of a bellend, but a good instructor and I passed after about 5 lessons with him. Around the same time my incumbent girlfriend at the time was learning to drive and she got asked out to dinner by her instructor who was about 25 years older and told her had a fetish for painted toenails. Summary, driving instructors are bellends, dirty old men with weird fetishes. Be careful my friend.

“That’s maybe why the reaction has been like that. They wanted me to stay so badly. But people have to make decisions in life. I am sure there are lot of people who understand why I made that decision. “When people move for big sums of money to a team that will always be challenging for silverware that comes with added pressure. I’m dealing with it and enjoying it. I hope it pushes me on a notch. Working with the players at Liverpool and playing in elite competitions is only going to improve my game 'they wanted me to stay so badly' Arrogant pr ick Also remind me apart from bottling the title when the last time Liverpool challenged for silverware was?

Okay Franco, as I've been labelled a fantastic by you let's pretend all 3 of your posts today, which is all the post you're allowed, WERE NOT full of name calling, swearing, your view of how pathetic you think I am. Let's pretend you didn't use all your post allowance saying that and you cooling batted me away with a cutting riposte which left me floundering and lost for for words, meanwhile you merrily carried on revealing your distaste for Clarkson to the wider forum audience. In that parallel fantasy world you hit a nerve. However as we can see from the above posts, I'll have to wait until tomorrow for the next instalment of how much you laugh at me, how thick I am, how much of a **** I am, because you've used up every single on of your posts today doing just that haven't you pal. I know you have, shall we say, issues, so I hope today little rant doesn't push you over the edge so for that reason I'm happy to pretend that Yes Franco, it's you that's hit the nerve.
-
Yes Franco, pretend I don't understand, pretend you're oh so clever, convince yourself that you've tied me up in knots. Yet there is only one of us getting oh so wound up yet again on an internet message board. Only one of us ranting, swearing, name calling and resorts to insults. The one that is The superior one, the educated super being, the master of naunce, the self styled forum voice of reason, resorting to foul fingered insults yet again. Yet I'm the thick one who just doesn't get it
-
You have to say it's quite an achievement to have lower commerical revenues than a club a divsion lower with an aveage attendance less than half ours, but somehow our glorious ex CEO managed to pull it off.
-
Of course Franco it's me isn't it. Not the person who describes clarkson as an outdated ****, a bigot whose audience is too thick to see through his act or are also bigots and lining his pockets whilst doing so. Yet absolutely loves the programme he presents and watches them avidly. You do know by watching top gear you too are lining the man you despises pockets, don't you Franco??

Yep, the standard FC response when made to look silly. Say they don't understand nuance.

Great to see a measurable and sensible approach from those at the top. This is a far more realistic strategy than that of another director we had who would tell everyone that would listen that we were on an unstoppable march to the champions league, which was lapped up by those that worshiped him, yet when you dug a little deeper all they were were words. These ambitions relied on being funded by handouts from the owners and offshore loans. Rodgers rightly targets commercial income as a priority, something we've not seen for a long time as last figures showed us having levels of income in these areas comparable with small championship clubs. Our wonderful former leader was great at spending money, not so great at making it it seems. It seems finally we have sensible people in charge who will do things the right way, the ambitions are the same, the goalposts haven't been moved, but rather than telling everyone what we are going to do, it'll be done quietly, the right was with the club growing without relying on someone else's credit card. It could have been different.

That post was 16th February, Cortese left on the 15th January, so yes it does prove my point.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?49105-The-club-is-no-longer-run-FOR-the-fans#.VDFVDH-9KSM Not a big fan of the Liebherrs methods either by the looks of it. I'm sure it was just your opinion at the time though.
-
I'm glad you're speaking for everyone but then as we've seen in the past you do have an extraordinary high opinion of yourself. The thing that my positive outlook was based upon was The appointment of Ronald Koeman. No way would someone of his stature in the game be stupid enough to come to a club where he was going to be hung out to dry. I believed and said as much as time he was the right man at the right time. A manager with the stature in the game to steady the ship, settle the other players down and attract some new players himself. Throughout the whole period the only time I had any doubt was when Chambers went, we could easily have said no to that but clearly the management decided it was a good deal for us. The others were alway going to go and with the exception of Lambert we're better off without them, just like the former CEO and just like the former manager.
-
Its not point scoring. People were coming out with all sorts of bo*locks all summer, on about protesting, accusations of assets stripping, turning their back on the club. They didn't have faith in those in charge, they believed the Neil Ashton lead campaign that without Cortese we were nothing, now he had gone it would all fall apart, when in fact early indications are whilst he did a lot of good we're better off without him. Those that reserved judgment and stood by the club deserve to laugh at those so called fans who were quick to jump up and down. As for you, well its difficult to take you seriously when one minute you're slagging the club off as not being run for the fans and the next posing for pictures with the owners.

Remember this? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28593032 Bit different to Jeremy Wilson's article.

And in an outstanding example of inane bigotry Franks Cousin labels all top gear viewers as thick, racist bigots. Well done sunshine.

We don't sign internationals, we create them.

The message is clear, if you want to play for your country join southampton.
-
Great news! A player who was jeered on his home debut, written off by some before he'd kicked a ball for us, makes it even sweeter.

10 games to adapt to the premier league was the excuse Alright. A line trotted out by MLG time after time.

You were very vocal on the 'les reed is a waste of space' thread Brett. Although it seems to were crab lungs puppet. Anything to say about it?
-
I thought this bit was interesting 'If there have been heroes at southampton in 2014 it has been Reed and a technical department that, from the age of under-eights up to the first team, have continued to implement a playing style and a standards in coaching, medicine and analytics that are founded on best practice across the world... 'Reed has stuck to the vision regardless of all the dramas that were unfolding around him' 'Koeman and Reed already know the players they want to sign next summer' Which is completely at odds with what was said here. Although post 68 seems to know his stuff http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51089-The-Les-Reed-is-a-Waste-of-Space-thread&highlight=Reed#.VC8dnH-9KSM
