  1. I find it hilarious the people the spend their time on threads responding to a perfectly reasonable post by moaning about it, claiming others are runing the thread and demanding they be banned. Vectis, who has a long hed obsession with me and is still unable or unwilling to back up his accusions of racism he levelled at me several months ago based simply on the fact i dont rate Tanadari Lee and "Aussie Saint20" sole contrubition to the thread has been to moan about it and demand bans!!! Yet it other that are runing the forum, You couldn't make it up!!
  2. Again, find the posts that are ruining this forum.
  3. I remember when Mikel broke into the first team there was a large sense of underwhelment given the hype surrounding him. As i say, time will tell if he our Essien or if it's £12m down the drain. THe reality is that like a lot of players it will be somewhere in between. I think he is good at what he does but needs to adapt to the pace of the premier league and being harried when he's on the ball, i doubt very much in Scotland he came up against many like Kevin Nolan. I think it's pretty evident already that he isnt a skillfull player and perhaps not suited to games where we have a lot of the ball, but for games away and against the bigger clubs where we need the ability to win the ball back he'll excel. The problem was on sunday he wasn't suited to that type of game and it was crying out for a Ramirez. We stuck with one and didn't use the other, for that you need to look at the manager im afraid.
  4. why is it offensive? And please find a single post in the last 3 months where i have been trolling.
  5. An outrageous decision and highly questionable point scoring. This reminds me of when Lewnnox Lewis clearly beat Evander Holyfield but the bias judges awarded a draw. I demand an inquest. The problem with being the best pound for pound poster in mongboard history is everyone is looking to bring you down. Why cant people just admire me for what i am and respect my talents rather than being desperate to see me lose my crown? A disgrace and embarassment to the forum. No wonder the good posters dont post on here any more and you can see why!
  6. Well i do about 30k a year so deperciation is steep as well as at least one set of tyres, 1-2 services, insurance with class I business use and other maintenace costs, plus the older it gets the worry that something is going to go wrong with it. Running cost wise it's not cheap but the allowance covers my finance and insurance and fuel allowance means i probably break even on running costs. Getting a company car would make sense from that perspective and I was leaning towards the company car option until someone told me if i was to get a new 3 series or A4 then you pay tax based on 15% of the list price, which for one of those would come to around £4k a year, so i'd lose my car and fuel allowance and pay another £300 a month in tax, meaning i'd be nearly a grand a month worse off in my pay packet! Surely this cant be right???
  7. The problem he has is that Saints fans are not used to us spending £12m on a player, especially one that isn't an attacking player. Saints fans and the football manager generation in general seem to think if a player cost a certain amount they have a set level of ability. They expect them to be brilliant straight away and be brilliant in every game. It doesn't take into account factors like age, playing in the premier league for the first time and so. We've spent a lot of money for Saints on a player that is never going to be spectacular, he's essentally a stopper and destroyer, not a great footballer. Time will tell if we've wasted £12m or if he develops into the new Essien.
  8. If someone is offended by something said on an internet forum which they are not then they deserve to be called whatever it is they are being called. If they are what has been said then it's a great leveller in dealing with their ailments to know that a large swath of fellow posters share similar symptoms so can fully empathise with their plight.
  9. There were a few rumours over the summer Cork wanted away, maybe that's why he appears to have been frozen out.
  10. Which are you better off with? I now have to option of company car after being on an allowance for years. I currently get £450 a month allowance and 38p a mile fuel allowance. Or I can have a new/nearly new 3 series or A4 and 16p a mile but obviously no service, tax or insurance to pay. What are the implications tax wise and what am I better off with financially? Assuming if i opt in I could sell my own car and settle the finance on it.
  11. I think the players probably do. The level of tactical genius, in depth knowledge of football finances and not forgetting the ambition and passion show by the 'man on the moon' brigade would act as an inspiration to any talented footballer. In fact mongbsords seem to be an untapped market that Soccerball club would do well to recruit from when looking for coaches, tactical gurus, motivational speakers and financial expects.
  12. Th best Centre half since Svenson. Really good player and I fully expect some of the bigger clubs to come calling for him.
  13. Very true Jamie. If I saw a Jewish person be racially abused using the word yid, the very least the abuser can expect from me is a foam hand slapped round his cannister.
  14. Its great that you don't, but surely if some people feel threatened by it then we need to consider them and react accordingly.
  15. BUt based simply on "good performances" or in your world more shots at goal than our opponents, we would finish lower in the table than we would based on "not so good performances" ie - less shots at goal than our opponents.
  16. Well as has already been commented on, i'd rather have two shots at goal from 6 yards out than 25 from 40 yards out. So it's a case of quality as well as quantity isnt it. Now, what is working better for us, 3 points from 2 games where we had LESS shots at goal or 2 points from 2 games where we had more?
  17. If we hadn't got that debatable late penalty at WBA then it would have been a very poor start indeed and 10 games without a win including the end of last season.
  18. Accurancy, quality of shot at goal are important factors, Olallana seems to think it's just the amount.
  19. So far this season we have played four games, had most shots at goal in two of them and taken 2 points from those games. In the other two games we have had less shots at goal and taken 3 points from them. So which is working better for us?
  20. Which is better, 3 points from 2 games or 2 points from 2 games? Quite simple, if we use your logic and do it based on performances, we finish the season on 38 points and in a relagation battle, if we do it results then we finish on 57 points and near the top 8. Still you keep trotting out your mantra that all that matters when guaging a performance is shots at goal.
  21. oh no i knew which ones they were, i wanted you to confirm. So just to confirm then, the game where we had less shots at goal than the oppositon we won, the two games where we didn't we failed to win. Not gone very well for you has it.
  22. he was rubbish yesterday, but i do think there is a good player in there. He's very much a cofidence player and like last season needs a goal or two to get him going.
  23. so which were the two games where we had more shots at goal than the opposition?
  24. worrying if we are resorting to picking fat, unfunny comedians with floppy hair.
