Youve got good skin, you know how to dress Your stylish grooming, makes Beckham look a mess.
-
Was he offended? Did he comment on how outrageous and disgusting the chanting was?

yours is more of an obsession.

As i said above, is that really homphobic? It's more mocking 99% hetrosexual people in the away end for a sterotype that is attached to their city. How is this any more offensive than calling people from Portmouth Skates? Do we think that everyone from Portsmouth is into beastility because of it? If there was a gay player playing and people were chanting about wanting to stab him to death because he's gay or if people were chanting at Brighton fans "Brighton are holding hands and we dont know why, ecause when they get outside the poofs are gonna die" then that's fair enough. BUt chanting about people holding hands is hardly turning a football ground into a cauldron of homphobic hate is it.
-
Just out interest, When was the last time anyone heard a homophobic chant at a football match?
-
Personally i hope they soon outlaw anti ginger chants so we never have to hear that bloody "look like a wotsit" song again.
-
It's the same every year though isn't it. We rarely sell out before November then all the fans that cant be bothered going in August and September come out of the wood work whinging that they cant get a ticket and we need a bigger ground.

Stoke fans ammused me with thier "i've got a shed that's bigger than this" chant, obviously forgetting that St Marys is bigger than the Britannia.

I thought you might pipe up on this subject young Andy.

Some perspective on wages and debt in the Premer League/at Saints
Turkish replied to ant's topic in The Saints
It's not just about us in the UK though is it. Whilst the huge Asian market is still obsessed by premier league football then there is a market far greater than the UK and Europe, then there is Africa. Anyone that has ever been there will know how obsessed they are with football, the American market still not fully tapped into. Whilst people continue to buy it so the revenue will continue to increases. People have warned for years that the gravy train is coming to and end, but is shows no signs of letting up. Remember how championship football was effected by the collapse of ITV digital? We'll that didn't stop TV revenues for the premier league contuning to increase, depsite warnings then that this was the beginning of the end for footballs popularity on TV. -
Is "we can see you holding hands" Really a homophobic chant?

Again they said that this time. There has to come a point I guess but the premier league is a global brand. Can you see that changing anytime soon? It's not even the best league or contains the best teams in Europe yet still people around the world can't get enough of it. -

5 years ago they won the FA cup, finished in the top half of the premier league, had a team containing 5 england internationals and were about to embark on a European campaign which would see them host AC Milan. This time last week they hadn't won a game in L2 and were about to host Morecombe. If that isn't Bubbble bursting then what is? -
a rich mans Hooliveld?
-
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont care if we lose now.
-
Why is it controverisal and why is he belittling Southampton? He makes a valid point, we only play with one striker and we've just signed an Italian international for £13m who plays in the same position. It would appear that Lamberts place could be under threat coming off the greatest week of his career. Some of you might not like to admit it but it could be the case.
-
how are you meant to be logged onto here posting on the Saints v xxxxxx match thread whilst at the game if the club dont sort out the WIFI? I'm going to send a strongly worded email to Mr Cortese. Its ruining my matchday experience!!

They've been saying "the bubble will burst" for the last 15 years and every TV deal is bigger and bigger. The bubble will only burst for clubs that spend well beyond their means and then get relegated stuck with players on big contracts with no sell on fee. The top clubs will just continue to get richer and richer. -
what, you mean that lazy, fat, lumbering carthorse, the bloke who half of his goals were penalties and was so slow he could outpace a double amputee on a skateboard with no wheels? He'll find his level at someone like Reading and i wish him luck there. Osvaldo is an incredible striker, the striker to take us onto the next level. He should at least be able to match the amount of goals Lambert scored last season.

I bet they issue banning orders to fans that do this.
-
The two most embarrassing things about this is the 'outrage' from the 'tradionalists' about 30 odd seats that no one will see on match day having a white hash tag on them. And at the other end of the spectrum the backslapping and celebration by some that having a hash tag on about 30 seats that no one will see on a match day is some genius piece of PR and marketing. Liverpool, man City, Chelsea and Everton are providing fans with free WIFI where they can advertise on people's mobiles, we have a hash tag on a seat that you can only see when the ground is empty. The Southampton way- LOL
-
True. There are too many helmets glued to their phones during the game as it is.
-
Evertons will have that. They'll also be able to vote for MOM using phones, get an on line programme on phone, on line betting and so on.
