Simon Moore -another one that slipped through our fingers?
Turkish replied to Leicestersaint's topic in The Saints
I slipped through the net too. My problem was similar to Ramirez in that the players I was playing with were sh*te and I was on a totally different wavelength to them so I too looked just as bad. The reality is that I am good enough to be a full international if I was playing with better players. Saints loss and Harlow Hill vets gain. -

Kevin Phillips and Dennis Wise too. -
A year ago some people were indignant that Adkins was the next great British manager, could be the new Alex Ferguson, definitely going to be England manager one day and will probably be wanted be Liverpool, Spurs when they look for a new boss. The 'in Adkins we trust' mantra was regularly trotted out. Yet now he's a clueless Bumpkin who was out of depth. despite doing no better Pochettino is now hailed as world class manager better than Adkins or career wise no better than a host of other managers the mugs on here write off as being terrible.

Not as a starter, like I said, if we needed someone to come on with 10 minutes to go when we needed a goal then he could have done that Job and I dare say he'd have got a couple, he is a goal poacher and little else. Long term though, no he isn't the answer. I actually thought Mayuka would replace Lee in the squad.
-
Nice try and the black and white scenario. Neither of them deserve a place so far IMO, of course I'll stand to be proven wrong on Mayuka, time will tell if he is the new Drogba or the new Manny Sidebe. However my point was that last season it was likely going to be the case where there would be times when we would be chasing a game and Sharp would have been the man likely to nick one. Long term he isnt the answer but I felt he could have done a job last season and there is little doubt he would have done more than Mayuka who replaced him.
-
I don't think sharp is a premier league player, however like I've said, he couldn't possibly have contributed LESS than Mayuka last season, for that reason I think he's got a bit of a raw deal from us as he was replaced in the squad by a guy who did nothing. I think he should be replaced by a better player but based on last seasons evidence he wasn't.
-
Kevin Davies.
-
So at worst he wouldn't have contributed any less then, yes? In fact he actually scored a goal, albeit against Steveage, but regardless in less than a month he did more than Mayuka did in a season.
-
But we know Maykua contributed next to nothing.
-
Well neither of them would be as we have Lambert and Rodriguez ahead of them. Point is do you think Sharp might have nicked a goal or two coming on as a sub when we were chasing a game last season? I reckon he would have.
-
Both Japan and Uraguay had qualified for the confederation cup when we signed Yoshida and Ramirez so actually we would have known. What were you saying about being dense?
-
Clyne isn't available and has no form at th moment.
-
De ridder has pace too, doesn't mean he'll be good in the premier league. The point was that Mayuka contributed nothing last season, he may come good he may not but last season I'd put money on Sharp nicking a goal as a late sub when we were chasing the game. Sharp isn't a premier league player but last season I'm certain he'd have done more for us than Mayuka did.
-
It looks like you won't be square, but I will be
-
He definitely didnt shine last season?! he had what, about 15 minutes of premier leagu football and scored against Stevenage in his only Start before being farmed out on loan. Do you think if Sharp had had the whole season with us last year would he have had more, less or the same impact as Mayuka?
-
Griffo I think you and Ash should meet up tomorrow night,he seems like a good guy and you might get a free sandwich from him.
-
Where o you then draw the line? Should players who play in the World Cup and Euros not be allowed to play in the friendlies in August? In any case Ramirez has no excuses, he had a 6 week break before the confederation cup after getting himself sent off and didn't play a full 90 minutes for months before, he's also had a break after it too. He might not be match fit but that will come but he has had a fair few weeks rest this summer.

The chairman is working extremely hard behind the scenes, yes?

You see this is what makes me laugh, people moan about players not taking England call ups seriously and no one caring a our the national side, yet when its players with us that are internationals for another country we don't want them to play. I disagree entirely, you can't have double standards about this, if the player gets an international call up then they go on international duty, we knew the risk when we signed a Japanese and Uruguayan player and that this would happen and it is. If we don't like it don't sign players from other continents.
-
Can't really complain, that's what you get with signing players from around the globe, we know that they will travel a lot when we sign them so can't whinge when it happens.
-
You need to find some meaningful employment pal.

He broke it in a fall whilst hiking, apparently he fell down a pot hole.

The mods need to take action against people like MLG, Wes Ender and Luswig, undoubtedly three of the most arrogant posters ln here. they've ruined another thread with their trolling and pointless comments, i agree that this needed another thread as not only have we not signed anyone its very quite regarding two major players we are in for have gone quiet and we've barely been linked with anyone else since Wanyama signed.

Imagine if we'd not had to cash in our sell on fee and had 15% coming our way, a nice little £12m bonus would come in handy.
