  1. The OP written in March stats that 6-9th was the aim for last seasons squad, not this season. This is my point. I told Nickg several times he was deluded at the time, then he produced this thread where he name check me in the OP. Of course he's now playing his joker which was where he said 'a likely finish of 13Th or above' but the fact is in his opinion last seasons squad was good enough to finish 6th. This was his 'realistic target' I think we all agree that is utter nonsense and even this seasons squad isn't, hence the bump and him writing essays every post to defend his comments. For the record I said twice on this thread if we signed 3-4 players we can finish top 10. We did and we look like we will do.
  2. This seasons team will finish 8th or 9 th Do you think the squad which finished last season would have?
  3. No matter how many words you type, how often you repeat yourself or how many things you make up you're still talking utter Bol+ocks.
  4. The open top bus tour of the city will be good. Celebrating the highest prize money in the clubs history. Cortese holding the cheque aloft in the air with the players drunk from swigging multi magnums of champagne.
  5. I'll be looking forward to the backpage headline and photo as Rodriguez nets our 89th minute winner of 'the goal worth £1.4m' with him wheeling away and celebrating In front of delirious fans all waving inflatable cheques.
  6. I don't have any tattoos, but if we finish 6th this season I'll be getting one of the prize money cheque on my arm to go with my photo of Cortese holding the cheque aloft and pointing it in the direction of our celebrating fans.
  7. You might want to warn him Guly is fit and likely to play.
  8. Plenty of clubs have talked about the champions league and going to the next level. Few have actually achieved it. It's fine to have these ambitions and laudable that we are not happy just to make up the numbers any more, its the relentless nature of talking ourselves up that is starting to grate. There has been this champions league talk since promotion and whilst we have progressed massively we are still miles away from being anywhere near good enough. I wish people would just get on with jobs and stop telling everyone what we are going to do. Do our talking on the pitch and let others talk about how good we are.
  9. I love the FA cup. It's a great trophy and would love us to win it again. I love looking at the old footage of 76 and hope one day to be lucky enough to experience that myself. I know the 'champions league or nothing' mugs on here would sooner we finish 7th and go out in the third round than 10th and have a go at winning it but I for one would much rather see a picture of Adam Lallana lifting the FA cup in 20 years time than one of Nicola Cortese lifting the premier league prize money cheque for the money we have won from finishing a few places higher.
  10. WBA fans will be overjoyed at the prospect of enticing the new Alex Ferguson to the club, won't they everyone.
  11. Call me old fashioned but it's something to do with doing our talking on the pitch.
  12. Another example of the detrimental effect of immigration, they are here taking our jobs whilst honest hardworking Brits like this suffer.
  13. Proper egomaniac, I believe he was the ref that they referred to on talksport the other day who apparently has an agent. really irritates me the way he tries to be mates with all the top players. Not sure if if it irritates me more that it irritates me and it has no impact whatsoever on my life.
  14. Talking of struggling i see you've now resorted to type of making things up about what people think and have said, excellent work NIckG. So just to clarify. Your 'realistic target' was actually not realistic at all. You never expected us to finish there just that we would finish above 13th somewhere. The three signings we've made who are 'really great' 'very promising' and 'clearly able' haven't in fact improved anything at all because you still don't expect us to achieve your 'realistic target' so Cortese has spent £35m to go from to not achieving your 'realistic target' to still not achieving your 'realistic target'. But hey, we'll finish about 13th though so it doesn't matter anyway, or something.
  15. Not our realistic target of 6th then? How disappointing.
  16. Your ' realistic target' with last seasons squad was 6th-9th, you're saying that after spending £35m on three international players the realistic target is exactly the same and the fact we are currently bottom of last seasons realistic target places suggests the £35m was squandered, does it not?
  17. I was referring more to the deflection which could have gone anywhere but looped just out of Davis reach and then the rebound which also could have gone anywhere virtually hit Torres.
  18. Do you knew this ? Means its a question? I asked you if Adkins was rotten, because you stated if something in the club was rotten he'd change it. Oh dear sunshine, your little glasses must be steaming up tonight bless you.
  19. Even on the day it happened!!
  20. adkins was in charge for some of the games olallana listed. Chelsea away for example.
  21. I fully agree with that. We are exactly where I predicted we'd be and I'm delighted with that however the OP makes a valid point. Who long will Cortese allow the run to go on for? I'm pretty sure he'd have expected to do better than we have recently.
  22. Usual stuff on here mate, players have their best games when they don't play.
  23. We beat both Chelsea and Man City last season, I'm sure Cortese will be wondering now we've got rid of the clueless Bumpkin and replaced him with the New Mourinho as well as improved the squad we have done worse than in the corresponding fixtures recently.
  24. I'm not annoyed, we are where I thought we'd be. The ones who are annoyed are the ones who proclaimed it was 'champions league or nothing'
  25. So Adkins was 'rotten' was he?
