Utter nonsense Colin. I've said many times i'll praise him when he deserves it and cristise him when it's warranted. I've always been very consistent on this from day one. It does seem that all manner of excuses are made when anything negative comes to light and people cant bear to hear a bad word spoken about him, it is almost hero worship. i'll speak as i find and having had some inside information as to his behaviour and how he can be that is why you wont find me blindly defending him or making excuses for him like some do when there are negative stories about him. Sorry if that doesn't sit well with you and you consider it to be trolling but that's how it is.

As Sour Mash says, it sounds like you never saw him play for us. IIRC correctly he needed an operation as he had problems with his back, the player didn't want to have it and believed he could carry on playing with masages and injections and the club and players could agree on it so he wasn't able to be signed permenantly. Was a fantastic player and made a real impact in his short time here. I'd go as far as to say one of top 5 players i've ever seen wear a Saints shirt.

As i said on another thread a post of "hats off to Cortese, well done" on a thread full of gushing praise isn't going to attract any attention. A thread critisicing him for things done will do as as you can see on here the overwhelming are in support of him and will leap to defend him, which in turn will provoke reactions, so it's not a case of he who shouts loudest.. There seems to be a view on here that you aren't allowed to critise when deserved and if something he has done is questionable it's always going to be someone elses fault.

Only the utter helmets on here think that as they are the ones who claim this if you critise him.

I think Cortese has realised that his talk of bigger stadiums and champions league football was overstating out ability and has realised it aint going to happen without hundreds of millions of pounds worth of investment. He knows that the amount of funding required is not there to see it through. He gets to walk away with his reputiation intact having established us as a premier league club having delivered early on his inital plan, without having to put up with whinging fans banging on about why we aren't signing the 3 players we need to secure 4th evey transfer window. whoever comes in to replace him wont acheive champions league football and he can always claim he would have had he stayed on and his replacement didn't do as good a job as he did.

well arguably the best defensive partnership in the country are both right footed. I would suggest it's better to have two good defenders are the same footed than two average ones because they are left and right footed.

Why are people so obsessed with what footed our centre backs are. I believe Adkins started this craze that we had to have a left footed centre back playing on the left side of the centre. It's an utter myth that it really makes any difference. Ferdinand and Vidic are both right footed and it doesn't seem to have caused man United too many issues having despite having this massive handicap.
