You're right, that was a very good goal and a bit of quality. Maybe i was expecting a bit more, when he joined Bournemouth fans were saying that they've just given us the players to secure our promotion, it's not really worked out that way, we've struggled as a team since him and Rothwell joined, i dont really feel they've contributed enough

Ive seen this said a lot and this a myth Last nights starting line up contained 6 players who were here last season, of those 6 Baz is just as poor, Bree & Aribo didn't get a look in, Adams is arguably no better and Armstrong was a proven championship striker before he joined us. You cant really say he's dramatically improved any of the players we have, Edozie looked good earlier in the season now cant get a game. Sully still flatters to deceive, Charles seems to have regressed since joining I agree we have an identity now and a way of playing which we didnt seem to last year but lets not start making out he's transformed a group of players into top ones, the best ones have been those who had a significant amount of premier league experience anyway, Downes, Frazer, KWP, Armstrong the rest have been a bit of a mixed bag, there isn't anyone i look at and think what a great improvement from last season, maybe Edozie, but as stated he cant get a game at the moment anyway for some reason

hes a very good player but not settled for us yet. It seems to have unsettled the team, i really thought he might be the one who would be the extra bit of quality we need to turn draws into wins or unlock tight games but he hasn't really delivered that at all. Rothwell was a strange signing anyway, although he's scored some important goals the rest of his contribution has been limited. We'd have been far better off bringing in a striker and some cover in midfield or full back.

Fair enough, IMO Puel overachieved given his circumstances and Martin has underachieved given his. I remember a stick used against Puel was that in his 8th placed finish it was only because it was low points total for finishing 8th in a usual season, a classic comment that it "wasn't a good 8th" yet the defence for Martin is that this season is a high points total for top 2, i guess his 4th place is a good 4th on that basis? people cant have it both ways.

it's seemed that way for a while really. It's not hard to play against us if a team gets it right, plus we're a team with confidence shot to bits now, that's been unsettled by a couple of unessasary january transfers and by the managers instance to play a certain player whatever the cost and disruption on the team. All in all a bit of a shit show really.

4th minute of injury time. I was in the Milton and it was right in front of me. Gutted wasn't the word. The round before that was one of my favourite Saints games. Swindon home, 2-0 down at half time, pulled it back to 2-2 in normal time, Barry Horne volley to equaliser, then won it 4-2 in extra time with an MLT free kick and Rod Wallace i think.

It’s arguable that Poch had a much better squad than Puel as well. He had Lallana, Lovern, Lambert, Shaw, Clyne, Wanyama a fit Rodriguez and a motivated Fonte for a full season. All of which walk into Puels team. Puel overachieved in the circumstances just because the “I demand entertainment” brigade don’t like doesn’t mean it isn’t true
