  1. So you know 2. Hardly "sh!t loads" is it. Why don't they go to the theatre instead? According to you earlier today it was no different to going to football. And of course it's not impossible to understand. They'll be an extra 10,000 a week next season that couldn't afford it, couldn't get time off work or had family parties every Saturday when we were in league one.
  2. How often a week do you go Colin?
  3. It wasn't like that for most people I know. It was passed down through generations. For me, like most i Know it was a case of Going with my dad and brother, then just my brother, then my mates. As a little boy walking down towards the milton road end, the smell of fags and bovril, going thought the turnstiles and my first view of the pitch, standing behind the goal, seeing my hero Stve Moran score right in front of me. That's what got me hooked. Not because I had a spare £40, tossed a coin between football and the theatre and went along to see Saints v Man United because I had a few hours to fill on a Saturday afternoon.
  4. What sort of stuff do they do Jamie? Seems like a lot of circuit training and so on. All body weight stuff.
  5. Correct. When pushed on the point the view seemed to change from football being "no different" to the theatre that in actual fact this isn't the case as there are some difference. For example although they might be more interested in seeing Saints v Man U than Saints v Rochdale "they are still Saints fans" (post 51) so actually one of the key difference to a day out at football being different" to a day at the theatre is that they wold chose to spend their spare £40 seeing Saints because they are Saints fans, albeit not regular or committed ones, rather than just wanting to see a game of football, or a show.
  6. No difference - exactly the same. Surely they mean the same thing, no? And at the end of the day, football is just a day out, he continues. Its no different to the theatre. So why go to Saints?
  7. He did.See posts 59 & 60 where he says he knows "sh!t loads" of people like that.
  8. with extra PMSL!!!!
  9. It seems so..... http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/05/20/man-united-complete-4m-england-teenager-signing-crewe-forward-nick-powell-makes-old-trafford-move/
  10. Im considering giving this a go when I get back off holiday. Looks like it'll be a good complement to my Krav Maga and seems a lot more interestjng than pounding the tread mill or pumping iron alone. Anyone got any experience of this? I seem to remember someone on here saying they do it. Tips, reviews, thoughts would be helpful please.
  11. Actually you jumped into a discussion where aintforever said for "sh!t loads" of people going to the theatre and going to the football are exactly the same. When clearly it isn't.
  12. Pleased Alex won. Decent little club whove produced some good players over the years. Nick Powell who got the first goal looked a very good player who is destined for bigger things.
  13. Actually I think it's you missing the point that are keyboard thumping friend aintforever made. That for "sh!tloads" of people going to the theatre is just like watching football. He wasn't comparing the discerning theatre goer to the football season ticket holder. More the one that just wants to see a show or a football match. If that's the case then it wouldnt matter who you see surely? If that's the case then surely a day trip to London, shopping, lunch, then a show at the West End or football match at the Emirates to see a top team I their new stadium is a better option than going to see a newly promoted one in Southampton? And these type view going to football just like going to the theatre then they're unlikely to become £600 season ticket holders, unless you know of any £600 theatre season ticket holders?
  14. Surely this type of theatre goer would be more like a seaon ticket holder at football. More regular and knowledgable than someone who just happens to have a spare £40 on Saturday and nothing to do so decided to go along to the theate, or the football, depending on What mood they were in.
  15. Won't they be angry at the queues for refreshments during the interval?
  16. No Carrick isn't as good as Schweinsteiger. But what he is good at and what you need in international football is a player who can keep the ball, retain possession and keep you ticking over. Carrick does this excellently. Last night the only thing Barry did of note was give the ball away twice when under no pressure and passing sideways 20 yards. On one of those occasions It led directly to a Norway goal opportunity. We'd have been punished for If they'd been a better side. Carrick alongside Parker, with Gerrard ahead of them would be a good central midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
  17. I remember once in my younger days and our premier league days being told to sit down and stop making so much noise by a bloated, arrogant middle aged helmet. Be quite. At a football match. Anyone would think we were at the theatre!
  18. But if as has been claimed "sh*t loads" of people view going to football just like going to the theatre it won't matter who they see will it? They could pop up to Reading for the day, have a wonder round the oracle then go and see Reading. Or better still take the bird up to London. Bit of shopping, nice lunch somewhere then off to the Emirates or Stamford Bridge. Why not do that instead?
  19. Why go to Saints though? Of all they won't to see is a game of football and don't care who it is why not go to Reading? Ita cheaper for a start.
  20. Good point. So how many of the "sh!t loads" people who view going to football just like going to the theatre. Sit at home on Sundays wearing "I heart the mayflower" shirts?
  21. So hang on a minute, do "sh!t loads" of people view going to the theatre as entertainment exactly the same as they do going to football or don't they? Which is it?
  22. We sure do. It's people like you, with your zany sense of humour and quite brilliant play on words comedy user names adaption (Turd- LMFAO!) that make Intenet mong boards what they are.
  23. Would you say a good source of revenue would be season ticket holders?
  24. So just to clarify you know personally "sh!t loads" of people that view a night out at the theatre exactly the same as going to football? Something you just do for bit of entertainment, no real passion or interest in it? Do you include yourself in the "sh!t loads"?
  25. What percentage would you say it was that view going to the theatre exactly like going to the football? How many people do you know personally that hold this view?
