Season Tickets 'how many will we sell next season'
Turkish replied to djharvey's topic in The Saints
:lol: I just heart that joke. It is so funny, it just gets funnier everytime you crack it. -
can you please stop it with this sensible and realistic approach. We just need to expand. Build it now. Everyone knows we have 10s of thousands of people living below the london- Birmingham - Liverpool line that are dancing in the streets at our promotion as they can now come to Southampton to see premier league football.
-
Sorry. i didnt realise it was a competition Timothy. I'll try harder now i know you are keeping score.
-
On a course for 3 days with work.

But if Everton sell out for their big games such as Liverpool, Man United & City etc then this means they could sell more for these so their average would be bigger if they had a bigger stadium. That is his argument with us. That is we had a bigger stadium our average would be bigger, well so would theirs be if they did.

How many times Jamie FFS. Because Chelsea only got 13k in 1984. Because the world is changing and people use Ipads now instead of PCs. Because Nokia used to be massive but arent anymore. Because someone on here went to Old Trafford once in the 80's and there were only 30,000 there. Because we've got more match going fans than Everton. Because Cortese has ambition. Because we've got the worlds biggest catchment area. Because who'd have thought 10 years ago Man City would win the league. Because Sunderland only got 17k at Roker Park and now get 38,000 regularly. You just need to open your eyes and see the possibilites, its so obvious.

True. Sadly for Everton they are just north of the imaginary line that goes from Liverpool to Birmingham to London and covers all of Wales, Devon and Cornwall which are potential Saints fans. If only they'd been a few miles further South they too could claim to be the new Barcelona.

Season Tickets 'how many will we sell next season'

You forgot about the 5,000 Man United fans in Crowthorne & Woking who will come to St Marys to see Premier league football. -
Speculation, pure speculation. Based on what you say if Everton had a 50k stadium then they'd have a higher average than 32,000. The FACT is we have never had a higher average crowd than Everton, never. So we dont have a bigger match going fan base than them.
-
i arrived back this morning although to add to the prosecutions case is it just coincidence i was in Spain and the last bloke to hack TSW was a mental Spaniard?? Although the smart money is on Um Pahars, still bitter at his faliure to make FOTB or set up a successful fan group.
-
What like the point you made the other day that we have more match going fans than Everton despite having never in our history had a higher average attendance than them. Those sort of points?
-
But what about all the plastic mancs that will come to SMS in their thousands from Epsom and Chobham? What about all those Bristol City fans over there who want to watch premier league football? What are they going to do if we don't expand? And I haven't even mentioned our catchment area which is quite literally the biggest catchment area in the world and history of soccerball
-
But you think people all over the country are desperate to see Premier league football at St Mary's. You claim there were literally thousands of people who couldn't get in so didn't bother trying. You say we should be competing with clubs like Spurs and Newcastle for 4th place. Both of these clubs have bigger stadiums than us and Spurs have a waiting list. Bigger than some of our attendances this season. I must be missing something
-
I thought that would be quite obvious sunshine. Tottenham have fans trying to get tickets to games despite them selling out every week. I seem to recall Newcastle also having a long waiting list. If we had these thousands of disapointed fans every week wh didn't we do have what most clubs that sell out have, a waiting list.
-
How come Tottenham have a waiting list of 15,000 fans then? Why don't they just give up knowing they could never possibly get a ticket. Is it just our fans that suffer from sold out apathy syndrome?
-
Utter bollix again. It would be a two horse race between you and verbal.
-
Okay maybe the first time you telll someone they are on ignore might be honest but is it really necessary to bang on about it on virtually every post? even contributing nothing to a thread except a post stating that someone is on ignore its the sort of self important nonsense you might expect from someone who would attempt to create a fans group or try and be a fan on the board but not from any normal person.
-
Whilst I don't disagree with what CB Fry says his post lacks one thing; ambition. Luckily for us Cortese has it by the bucketload. Never in the history of the soccerball has a chairman had so much at a club with so much potential. In 126 years we have never had more than 32,000 people attend a game but the world is changing and people now use ipads instead of desktops to prove this point. The whole of Europe is now cheaply accessable and within 3 hours of Southampton thanks to Easyjet and with a large Polish, Russian and Asian community I would imagine visitors from here willbe flying in in their thousands to join the plastic Mancs from Epsom and Guildord and the bus loads coming from cornwall that used to go to Old Trafford for premier league football. Ironically enough Easyjeg is also the clever pricing policy we are going to introduce where by fans. gain access to the stadium for only £15 which will help all those plastic real Madrid fans who have flown in to see premier league football at St Mary's. Although obviously if they want to see the pitch or have a p*ss then they'll have to pay for it.

Absolutely. We can Overtake man United easily. Just look what happened to Nokia and HTC have come from no where.
-
Quite. MLG asked how much it would cost to do a Newcastle. The answer was their first xi cost £50m and their wage bill was £102m over 3 years. So £152m to "do a Newcastle" also assuming luck, all the signing we make are brilliant and work out and we can pick up a few Ba like frees on the way. So £152m minimum to have a shot at 4th, once. To stay there will cost a lot more and plenty of others have spent more and failed. Tottenham, Villa, even Chelsea might not make it this season.
-
Who said it was daughting? Who said it was a problem? You banged on and on and on "oh look at Newcastle theyve done it without spending much" when in fact they have. Their 3 year wage bill and first xi team will cost them £152m minimum. That's not counting squad players and any new signings they'll undoubtedly make in the summer. £152m to possibly finish 4th. Again you've ignored my point. You asked how much it would cost for us to do a Newcastle. The answer is £152m and thats doing it the cheap way, like you claim Newcastle have.
-
If you read my post I didn't say it was £152m a year.
-
How many of our players would get in Newcastles team? The only issue is you. You mocked Jamie for suggesting that it would cost £250m to get to Newcastles level, the reality is he isn't far off as no doubt they will spend a few quid this summer as well. £152m minimum to possibly finish 4th End of argument.
-
You're dead right Steve. What i should have done was promote myself as the voice of the fans, put a few leading "i'm ITK" style posts on here. Set up a failed fans group and then when everyone got bored with me being a helmet sent a few "i'm outta here" PM's to people before returning later in a blaze of glory.
-
Again, so what? Its going to cost £152m. It's going to cost £152m. Its going to cost £152m That is what it is costing Newcastle. That is the answer to your "oh look at Newcastle, they haven't spent big" point. They're spending £152m. Plus whatever their players cost that didn't start against Man City.
