  1. Jordan Henderson, he couldn't get away quick enough when a bigger club knocked on the door. It'll be different for us though, of course.
  2. I know two people who ignore me. They constantly remind me, thats how important they think it is.
  3. Bolton have had two Japanese players and Sunderland have a Korean at the moment. Why isn't everyone in these countries wearing shirts of those clubs?
  4. It's a global world these days, With southampton airport flying to loads of places and Heathrow only an hour away there are litterally millions of plastic Real Madrid, Barcelona, Roma, Juventus, Ajax, Bayern Munich, Inter and AC MIllan, Marseille and Paris St Germain fans who could be here with 3 hours of leaving home. Why stop at attracting plastic mancs from Guildford? The world is our oyster and the world is changing. Dont rule out the tens of thousands that would come from these places to see premier league football. It's eniterly possible, if 10 years ago you'd been told people would stop using desk top PC's and would now use hand held tablets and Ipads you'd think they were mental.
  5. I am in Madrid at the moment with work and i can confirm that there are litterally thousands of plastic Real Madrid and Barcelona fans out here who are delighted to see Saints back in the premier league as they are really keen to come here and see us play Premier league football. With flights to Heathrow less than 2 hours they can litteraly be at SMS within 3 hours, the time it would take us to drive to the midlands. yet more evidence of our MASSIVE catchment area and the need to expand SMS ASAP. BUILD IT BUILD IT BUILD IT.
  6. who uses them? I've never put anyone on ignore nor would i ever, it's only an internet forum FFS. Do people really take it so seriously that they feel the need to ignore people? It's a little bit odd IMO. So ignore lists, good idea and worth using or a sign of a pompous moron with a massive sense of self importance who really needs to lighten up a bit?
  7. My god this is up there with a "they said man will never walk on the moon" post. Saints can be a champions league club because people use iPads now instead of of desk tops and Rover went bust. With logic like that That's me won over.
  8. more bollix. THe Dell had a capacity of 25k in the early 80's. Even in our best ever season 83/84 there were plenty of empty seats/terrace spots. Here are our attendance records. http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/soto.htm Oh dear, not going very well is it.
  9. Yet according to you we are bigger than Everton despite having never, ever had a bigger average crowd than them over the course of a season in our history and they've often had 6-8000 or more on average in similar situations.
  10. Please explain why there are 5,000 plastic Mancs in Surrey and Berkshire, just desperately hoping Southampton get back to the premier league so they can come and watch Southampton v Swansea in the premier league. Why would these plastic mancs not go to Reading instead. or QPR instead. or West Ham (should they go up) instead. or Chelsea instead. or Arsenal instead. Why Epsom and Reigate Reds specifically waiting for Southampton to be promoted to fullfill their dream of being in the neutral section of a ground over an hour away when London clubs are closer and a better day out than to watch two clubs they dont give a f*ck about?
  11. He actually doesn't and talks a lot more sense than 99% of the people on here.
  12. and Wolves i think.
  13. Kenny Miller has to be one of the most over rated players i've ever seen. How has he ever played in the premier league?
  14. You are right The fact that Tottenham and Liverpool who are clubs the "ei i ei I ei I oh, off to the champions league we go", brigade think we will be competing with for 4th place have revenues which are made up of only 31% and 21% repectively from matchday income prove that whilst a bigger stadium is nice, it's only a minor percentage of total income.
  15. True, no Saints fan i've ever spoken to at a game believes any of this nonsense.
  16. Come on Frank, it's one thing to take a club which is a medium sized premier league club out of league one, even the championship, it's quite another to take that club into the champions league playing with the biggest clubs in the world. Tottenhams revenue in their last report was £120m, £104m, more than our was in our last report. This is they type of sized clubs you lot are expecting us to compete for 4th place with.
  17. Well it aint going to be spending Man City amounts on players, he aint allowed too for a start. So what other ways of doing it are there and why aren't Sunderland, Everton and Aston Villa doing it?
  18. I went there for a weekend in September, decent enough place, could have a cracking time out there.
  19. With the new FPP rules coming in this cannot happen.
  20. Actually if you look at this report an extra 6,000 seats wont make all that difference. Matchday revenue typically only make up 20-30% of total revenue for the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool who we will be competing with for 4th place. It's going to take a bit more than chucking a few extra seats on unfortunately. http://www.footballeconomy.com/content/arsenal-do-well-matchday-revenue http://www.footballeconomy.com/content/arsenal-do-well-matchday-revenue
  21. You couldn't make it up. If this was on a Reading message board people would be going buts about how arrogant and deluded they are. Im sure he'll come back and say we would have got bigger crowds than them if only St Marys was bigger.
  22. Utter bollix. http://www.toffeeweb.com/history/records/attendances.asp and in any case talking of revenues have you any idea what percentage of matchday revenue is typical average for a top 6 club?
  23. West ham 1-0 up and cruising. They look so much fitter and stronger than Cardiff. Can't see anyone stopping them, Caridff just don't look like scoring.
  24. /\ because a lot on here keep banging on that we are going to be In such a great postition to fullfil our champions league dream when they come in, when the reality is they don't help us as all, as proven by the cases of Man City, Chelsea and Blackburn who would be no where near the champions league if these rules existed 15 years ago.
