  1. Not according to some on here. The reason he was always offside and mistimed runs was because he was so much better than everyone else he was always thinking so far ahead the other players couldn't keep up with him. Like Antonio I'm surprised no top flight clubs anywhere in the world have picked up on this incredible ability and am amazed he is now a squad player with Serie B Ascoli and not lighting up Serie A, La Liga or the Premier League.
  2. The Just For Fun Stadium would suit a lot of our crazy fans and also be able to get discount on fancy dress next season.
  3. I got shouted down and called all sorts of names on here a while back for daring to question our low attendances and was told there is a financial crisis going on, people that they were skint, there was a recession on, times are hard, they can't make evening games due to work, they've got family commitments, holidays to pay for, their new council tax bill was higher than expected, there are road works on the a34, family parties this weekend, Somethg about christmas just around the corner or just gone etc. Under those circumstances it was wrong to questions people for not going to games a support the team in what many claim is greatest time ever to be a saints fan. Suddenly it seems all of these issues which prevented people from going don't exist anymore.
  4. Do it, you'd make a profit. There are thousands who will be hitching lifts next season, you.ll be quids in.

I'll think your find Lowe gave him leave to fight his cause, he didnt sakc him and given our results at the time were clearly effected by it I have to say as no Lowe fan that this was a great move by him. Our form was awful at the time and Jones could have actually be sacked because we were heading for relegation. I felt Lowe did the decent and right thing at the time.

Utter bollix, don't let sentiment get in the way, we'd have gone down that season if he'd not been moved on.
  7. Let's not forget this line which means people in Wrexham, Bangor, Newport, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Truro, Plymouth and Ilfracombe are just waiting to watch premier league football at Southampton. The buses are booked I'm glad to see we've got our act together to welcome amoungst others the 1,000 strong Bangor saints to SmS next season.
  8. As per above he's 22. Where he was 2 years ago was league one where he is today is league one, where he is going, who knows. I'm sure Notts County fans are creaming themselves over Jonno quicks performances for them, does that mean he's a premier legue player and going places as well?
  9. Can't get near the team. No where near it. He's 22 now not some 18 year old kid being loaned out for experience.
  10. At the end of the day no one is forcing you to pay it. If you don't like it dont go. I have always maintained football will not be for me when we get to £35-£40 a game if we are a bottom half or midtable premier league side. Hence why I won't be going to Chelsea and QPR etc next season. If you want us to be successful, sign decent players and play decent football you have to pay for it, simple as that.
  11. He was okay for us nothing better. He's still playing in league one two years later, how can this be when he's so good?
  12. £16m for Downing. LOL!
  13. Because he's still alright in league one, two years after doing alright in league one, yes?
  14. Unfortunately a lot of our dinlow fans see pace as the only asset a player needs, hence the hero worship of De Ridder despite the fact he's done nothing for six months and never had a good game when he's started. Final ball and quality of play doesn't matter to a lot of people, the fact he's quick does. "stop f*cking about with it, get it forward!!!!!" "get it long!!!!" "run Lambert you lazy fat c*nt!!!!" etc...
  15. Because De Ridder has torn the league up hasn't he. So tell me this, if Antonio is so amazing and could cause premier league defence problems why is he STILL playing in league one?
  16. I think thats a bit too optimistic mate!!!
  17. Massively. How often does that happen?.
  18. Liverpool have been terrible, it's alright though Carroll is coming on.
  19. The bloke is an absolute helmet. His sole qualifiction for being a football presenter is that he claims to be a West Brom fan. It's not like he is even any good at it.
  20. I've never met anyone that struggled to get a ticket in the premier legue either. Mrs Turkish worked at the club in this pwriod some of it in the office during this period and she says no time were we turning away these thousands of fans you seem to believe there were. We've got lots of fans that will only go to a few games a season, let's not forget how many birthday parties, holidays, surprise bills, traffic problems and work commitments people experienced for less glamorous games this season, they aren't going to disappear just because we're in the premier league.
  21. Not that impressive really at it was our biggest game for 7 years.
  22. Well he's played for Scotland once, not quite an international footballer. If that's your benchmark then so is Michael Ricketts!
  23. He was embarassingly bad. But at the same time it wasn't actually a debate was it, it was a hour or whatever of the whole audience and panel having a go at him.
  24. What does it matter what players the other teams bring?
  25. Not that you'd know it. As a kid was the highlight of the year and in many ways more important to win than the league. Always seemed to be a hot day and the last day of the season. Look at it now, shoved to a 5.15 kick off 2 games before the end of the season. Almost been forgotten about. Its a bloody disgrace.
