  1. Well he was for the other 62 minutes. And you missed an amazing finish. I’d much rather we’d signed a James Trafford than Bazunu too, looks to have so much more about him
  2. Watching the U21s final. Levi Colwill is absolute class, his positioning, timing and quality is excellent. Didn’t we try and sign him last summer?
  3. It would be a much longer list given our fan repertoire
  4. Got a dream boy got a song paint your wagon come along
  5. anyone remember this one? We are Southampton we play down at the dell to most we’re better known as just the saints we might not be one of the biggest club or liked by all the rest but one day you’ll see we will become the best (think line 3 is right)
  6. Championship level budgets for points these days pal
  7. +100 ITK points
  8. Time to resurrect the acceptable song list for our return to the championship. Hopefully a lot of the premier league fans will have done one so we might have a bit more passion in the crowd this season.
  9. I was asked for evidence Edozie was going to be part of the first team, if a direct quote from that teams manager on the day he signed isn’t enough then what do you expect? and I completely agree with your second point and made myself earlier on the thread but that doesn’t change the fact he and few others didn’t do what was expected of them whether we agree with those expectations or not.
  10. Incorrect. Johnstone’s Paint Trophy 2010/11 season
  11. The “evening major” gag was funny the first couple of times. The 150th time it really isn’t.
  12. No one is saying that, no one is saying he might not go on to be a very good player. But last season it would have been difficult for him to contribute less. He was brought in to improve the first team squad immediately, our manager said that, he didn’t. It really is that simple.
  13. Edozie came in as a replacement for Redmond. Are you seriously saying with 17 appearances no goals or assists he was more affective than redmond and improved the squad?
  14. Did he? I remember him running around a lot but don’t remember him contributing anything of note. By our managers own statement he was expected to help the first team squad immediately, I’ve yet to see anyone state how he did. He might become a great player but last year he didn’t do what was expected
  15. So there’s your answer then “very little impact” cheers
  16. The criticism at least from me anyway is not aimed at the player but the people that expected a 19 year old kid who I think had barely played a first team game to come in and be a first team player immediately.
  17. Did he help the squad immediately? What did he do last season that helped the squad?
  18. Did he help the squad immediately? Yes or no will do
  19. Bazunu is highly rated by Republic of Ireland fans.
  20. Southampton sign City's Edozie - BBC Sport Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "Samuel is another promising young player who brings good attacking qualities to us, and he is someone who fits very well with our philosophy. "He is a quick player who has impressive technical ability, so he will be able to help our squad immediately, but we also see a lot of potential in him for the future" Did he help our squad immediately?
  21. he wasn't signed to be an U21 squad player. It really isn't that hard to understand.
  22. whatever happened to AdrianSFC? He used to hate us signing players, always thought it was a waste of money and had a right whinge about it every transfer window.
  23. How many of our signings were a success? Lavia yes, Alvarez was, i'd say the rest were failures. A spend of £120 odd million produced one of the worst Saints teams i've ever seen. It's all very well and good having potential but you can only afford two or three of these, you cant have a team full of them especially in key positions.
  24. it's the sort of thing we're likely to do though.
  25. give we spunked the best part of £70m on Hoedt, Vestergaard, Bednarek, Salisu, Lyanco, Bella-Kotchap and Caleta-Carr since he left plus god knows how much in wages it would have been a bargain. It's lot of money a week, but given what we've wasted then it made sense. He was out captain, leader i would say he isn't in our top 3 centre backs since we came back in the premier league but what he gave us was the kind of experience and leadership you need.
