The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

And there you have the problem. People choose "a side" then stick with that side no matter what, it aint a frigging football team. Obviously the sooner the country gets rid of Johnson the better, a dreadful prime minister, yet some people would rather he stays because it help their side get in, not because they want what's best for the country. You've only got to look at the Brexit fallout. The vote didn't go the way some wanted, so rather than accept the democratic vote and getting on with it there was endless wailing and bleating with quite a few people desperately hoping it all goes wrong and the country is fucked forever just so they can say i told you so. -

You get the impression he hates the Tories more than he likes anyone else. A very strange, bitter individual with some very pious views. -

how many jabs have you had Soggy? There is a whole list of reasons why you're singled out and not just by Brett/Jamie/Alex either. Ever thought the issue might be you? -
You are correct! IIRC Rodney and Danny started and Ray came off the bench first time 3 brothers had ever played in the same team in the same match.

Gordon Watson used to live on Cutbush Lane. His house was nice, used to walk the dog down there, but it was right next to Townhill Park which is/was a shit hole. It was hilarious seeing him driving his jag down Meggason Avenue.

Exactly my point. You dont want a stable, well led, progressive government. You want a stable, well led progressive labour government. So your agenda is to get who you support in power. By the way, labour are none of those things at the moment either. -
Absolutely buzzing at the latest news alert on my phone, let me at this footage. It’s all going off today!

I'd be amazed if he wasn't. No player leaving a bigger club coming here for first team football is going to be happy being second choice to a 19 year old in their first season, especially after being one of our better players last season. Unless of course he's happy switching between left back and right back. Seems like he'll get a good run at right back now if Liveramento out anyway so he'll be here until the summer at least.

When i was about 7 or 8 i was with my dad in Mike Chippy at the Castle in Midanbury on saturday evening. My dad said to me that Danny Wallace was behind me in the queue, i didn't believe him until the lady serving us said it was. He then signed his autograph on a piece of chip wrapper that i still have 30+ years on in a photo album with other autographs i got from back in the day. He lived near us in a 3 bed semi on Wakefield Road. I believe he was the first footballer i ever met

Newcastle have just signed Trippier, so he wont be going there. I guess the question needs to be if he can be first choice at all of these clubs why isn't he first choice at Saints? I rate him highly as well but it's typical Saints that two of our best players play in the same position.

You do realise there is a global component shortage? Lots of orders are on extended lead times at the moment

All those saying it's best for Boris to say so labour get in are clearly only interested in their own agenda. Boris is a terrible prime minster, a bullshitter and now a laughing stock with hardly any support. I'm really not sure how anyone can think it's in the best interests of the country if he stays in place. What they mean is it's in their best interests to get their preferred people in. -
Another point would be everything you see and read about those involved in the club then says they were decent, honourable people. I really struggle to believe that if they genuinely thought there was a rampant peadophile in the club they would turn a blind eye to it. Whilst it was a different era the fact remains that this is a vile crime and no one in their right mind would let it go on. Which is why i full believe that the extent of the clubs knowledge of this was along the lines of unfounded rumours and gossip which were the case in every single school in the country at the time, teachers were peados, gays (yes i know that will upset some of you) drunkards etc apparently every school had loads of them! When we used to go to Southampton schoolboys football weekends i remember at least two of the coaches were meant to be gay peadophiles or so the U15 rumour mill told us! Its easy to look back now and say they didn't do enough, need to take responsibility etc, but if you were around at that time it's perhaps easier to understand why they didn't.

Thats was nearly 20 years before the Higgins stuff and he would have just stepped down as manager, i cant even remember what his role as in the 90s, he wasn't chairman that was Woodford and then Askham, he may have been a director i cant remember but certainly not the first person you think of who should have the finger pointed at for not doing anything,
-
When you say knew though what exactly did they know? I'm around the same age as these lads, i was around the youth football system at that time and actually only lived a few minutes from Higgins house, he used to come to our school a bit. i remember the graffiti on his house when the allegations first arouse in the early 90s. But also i remember it was all a bit of a joke amongst us, i remember it well, things said like "dont go to Higgins football schools he'll touch you up", "wonder if Higgins will be here today dont go near the showers" when we had a match. No one really believed any of it but it didn't stop us talking about it. Around that time every school had a PE teacher that was meant to be a peado, other teachers used to supposedly go out and get pissed every lunch time, others fancied the pupils. If the headteacher heard all the stuff that was said all the teachers would be suspended and under investigation constantly.the world was a very different place back then. Whilst it's easy to say 30 years on everyone at the club at the time should take responsibility, did they actually know what was going on, or did they just hear rumours like pretty much every headteacher at every comprehensive school in the country would have? I'm not for one minute making light of what these lads went through but could it be the case that what those at the club did know was more along these sort of lines?

Especially considering he did all that shortly after nearly dying not long ago -
Why? It’s a minimum of 5 minutes. That it what people forget.

He may not be the best prime minister we’ve ever had but you just be grateful you’re still here to know that -

Agree KWP Is a very good player. Would be a real shame to lose him. Hopefully Livramento will develop into a top player but it’s perfectly normal for young players to come in with a bang and their form to drop off, seen it many times before. In truth he should have been left out weeks before he got the injury. Hopefully we can keep them both and with Perarrd seeming to be improving and Small waiting in the wings what was our weakest position now seems to be our strongest

They thought they were going to get Mbappe, they got Chris Wood 😃

Wow, surely that is the perfect centre back. You have to wonder why he isn’t playing for Real Madrid already if this is true
