  1. They’ve got that boxing guy announcing the two team In the world club cup final “in the blue corner…..” “let’s get ready to rumble etc” Jesus wept 🤦
  2. So when Is Middlesbrough on general sale?
  3. So when is Portsmouth on general sale?
  4. Another friend you’ve been discussing a football forum with? Wow, you seem to spend an awful lot of time talking about posters on saintsweb to people who don’t care about football 😂😂😂😂
  5. I once stroked Bob Geldoffs daughters puppies near Carnaby Street make of that what you will
  6. Yep this is true. It’s funny what some of the divs on here are saying I’ve probably done more to support girls football at grassroots in the last 3 months than they’ve done in their lifetimes but the usual helmets don’t really get the point and instead make silly comments and invent breakfast chats with their pals to back up their opinion i said on other threads before that at U11s and below some of the girls are as good as if not better than the boys and technically very good but they get overtaken as they get older The whole point of this bit of the discussion is that men’s and women’s football at top level are eons apart, putting Ellen White in a list of top England goalscorers is ridiculous, they might as well put the kids in there as well if they’re going to do that. enjoy it for what it is, like tennis, like athletics etc stop trying to compare them, appreciate what they do. It’s the ridiculous stuff by the media trying to make it something it’s not, SOG is right you don’t get it in other sports, but not quite how he meant it.
  7. oh dear SOG another one jumping on the thread missing the point. Didn’t take you long to revert to type though. Were you gutted no one mentioned you on your little break, gotta hurt
  8. Why would you be discussing posts on a football forum, some of which made by people you have on ignore, with a friend of yours who hates football? Seems an odd way to spend breakfast in the shade of the Apple trees, as wonderful an image it might conjure up in one’s minds-eye
  9. About what?
  10. So we’ve moved on from some sort of gay fetish where I’m preferring boys to girls to it giving me some sort of self satisfaction, struggling here aren’t you.
  11. What a weird way of looking at it
  12. More bollocks from you
  13. Unsurprisingly you miss the point
  14. More bollocks from you.
  15. What’s this Matsuki fella like then? I’d forgotten all about him. Seen him described as a ball winning midfielder and an attacking midfielder.
  16. A lot of the derision is self inflicted. If, as you say, they let people enjoy it for what it is then I’d expect it’d actually be more popular. A while back I saw a list of top England goalscorers with Ellen White in there somewhere between Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney, so it’s alright to do that but when it’s pointed out the low level of the women’s game compared to men’s you get accused of derision. In all other sports women’s and men’s versions of the game are kept separate but for some reason when it comes to football there is this desperation for it to be seen as equal and everyone should get on board with how great it is.
  17. There isn’t this endless promotion of athletics, for example, as being equal it isn’t. with competitors demanding equal pay. The we do the same job argument is just nonsensical, Gordon Ramsey and a chef at the local pub both do the same job but you don’t see them demanding equal pay. same with football I’ve quite enjoyed a few women’s games over time but it’s ruined by the hype around it. When the England women’s team won the euros the “send a woman to do a man’s job” bollocks etc. You’re right let’s enjoy it for what it is, a pretty low standard minority sport that is simply incomparable to the men’s game. Which also means stop Hype about it and comparing it to the men’s game when it suits them. I enjoyed it when they won the euros. We were on holiday and went to a pub to watch it and cheered them on. However to then claim they’ve outdone the men’s team doesn’t do it any favours at all.
  18. Agreed about live. I saw than at York last year and Leeds for the 25th Coming Up anniversary tour and they were great.
  19. I think coming up was the first Suede album post Bernard Butler. Definitely a more poppy sound. For me hard to pick one from First three as I thought they were all excellent but Coming Up just edges it for me for personal reasons. so Young is in my top 10 songs list, also love Wild Ones, Metal Micky, Drowners Heroine and New Generation. Thought they lost their way a bit after that probably because Brett Anderson was spending all his time chasing the dragon but Autofiction is a brilliant album. All in all though always been a big Suede fan
  20. Yep so a 15 year old boys academy team is a similar standard to an international women’s team, which was exactly my point
  21. It’s happened twice actually. The Swiss team lost 7-1 to an U15 team and the USA team when they were world champions lost to an U15 boys team https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/switzerland-alisha-lehmann-women-euros-boys-u15-team-974768-20250625 https://www.si.com/soccer/2023/11/10/carli-lloyd-confirms-uswnt-once-lost-team-15-year-old-boys so not utter bollocks pal.

  24. i remember when it came in, or Financial Fair Play it was called then and lots of people were excited that it would level things up, it was pretty clear though that all it was doing was pull up the drawbridge. There would be no chance of a wealthy owner buying a smaller club and let them challenge the elite. It's actually been worse than could be imagined.
  25. It's always been the case, one of my earliest football memories was Steve Williams leaving us to go to Arsenal despite us having been a better team for several years, the naive child in my couldn't believe that a player would leave us for a club further down the league. At least back then though smaller clubs had a chance us, Forest, Ipswich holding our own at the top for a while, even Watford finished second one year i think and got to the FA cup final the year we finished second. Soon as anyone shows any promise these days one of the big clubs hoover them up and that even goes down to kids with 16 year olds being poached by the big clubs making academies pretty pointless
