  1. I didn’t say it was.
  2. Ask any football fan over 35 what one of the best days of the year was and they’d say FA cup final day. The third round draw was exciting, the early round attendances bigger than league games. Like you said every team went for it from the very early first round they entered. Now you’ve got nuggets like MLG banging on about the financial gap between clubs. It’s tragic what’s happened to the FA cup that quite a few of our fans would swap staying in the premier league every year for winning it, just so it helps our bank balance
  3. I grasped it. It’s fucking obvious. You obviously missed Duck hunters point though but no surprises there, ever thought about being a limbo dancer?
  4. Ha yeh, I remember us being linked with him. Another think I remember is they were reporting every day we were signing Matt Jansen. It seemed to go on for months, we never did, but everyday you’d have to wait until the end of the call for the latest Matt Jansen update, which was basically saying he was someone we were trying to sign in as many different ways of saying that as you can.
  5. In the mid-late 90s when this was the one of the main new sources i was doing a shit entry level sales job where we had to achieve 4 hours of phone time a day. When this number started to appear regularly on my call reports they rang it. I was given a written warning as when i say regularly I was calling it 4 times a day and listening to the whole report to get my telephone time up. it was shite though, it was just pure speculation. I remember once they announced we’d signed Alun Armstrong from Stockport, he was quite hit property at the time. The next day he was unveiled at Middlesbrough I think it was.
  6. A club with more money can buy better players. Such insight!
  7. Good job it’s 22 players playing the match and not the two club bank balances then isn’t it.
  8. LOL I see they’re trying to flog the LD sports shirts for £15
  9. No Corporate company Who advertises cares about individuals. They are there for one thing only, to make money. Where do you draw the line? Should Cadbury’s be banned from advertising chocolate because some people are addicted to it, eat too much Get fat which can give them heart disease and diabetes? Gambling is a normal part of life and has been for centuries, same as booze, millions of people do it, for a small minority it Can become a big problem. I would guarantee that someone not addicted to gambling is going to still not be addicted to gambling If saints were sponsored by sportsbet or Unicef
  10. A very simplistic view. Of course it encourages new customers and of course it is something people do compulsively but there is a huge leap between being an addict, an addict would be an addict regardless of what was written on a football teams shirts.

    Coronavirus

I don’t think it’s a scam as a very good friend of mine almost died because of it. But there is defiantly something strange going on with an awful lot of scaremongering. For example we never heard anything about new variants Of concern until just before they started rolling out the vaccines. The roadmap seemed sensible when it was first announced, no more lockdowns, led by data etc, all good but now we’re hearing reports of huge new waves when everyone is going to be vaccinated, it just doesn’t ring true.

    Coronavirus

Played 3 times since they opened, even my mate who plays off 2 was smashing it all over the place and picked up on two holes, it’s a great leveler 😀
  13. Yep, would agree with this, we certainly have had a fair few big decisions against us by refs. Maybe we’ll get a big one go for us in a if a big game 😉 I suppose this list is just what VAR decisions have been overturned, it doesn’t include dubious onfield decisions being upheld by VAR such as the wolves And VIlla penalties.
  14. How have you got access to the embargoed bit of the press conference?
  15. Interestingly we’re net neutral when it comes to VAR this season altbough it doesn’t take into account obvious errors like the penalties in the wolves and villa games or the offside in the home game v villa which although weren’t given were impacted by VAR. it also doesn’t include the cock up at Leeds with goal Disallowed https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.espn.com/soccer/english-premier-league/story/4182135/how-var-decisions-affected-every-premier-league-club-in-2020-21%3fplatform=amp
  16. He’s also been unlucky with marginal offsides and ref weirdness. Man U, Leeds sure there was another? He could quite easily be in double Figures with a bit more luck and composure. Definitely a player in there. I’ve got a feeling next season it might all Come together
  17. Perfect for us then
  18. Two good goals but done very little else really.
  19. Arsenal
  20. What’s more likely to make someone gamble? Seeing something on a football shirt or having a dozen bookies in every high street or being able to open your phone and gamble within seconds. There are a lot more things that need to be regulated before advertisements
  21. Obviously it does work. For example when Carling premier came out In the days it was the FA carling premiership I drank a few pints of it, even though I’ve always Carling. It didn’t mean I became alcoholic, because addiction is much more complex than simply trying to convince a market to buy your product over the others out there by putting your name in a place people will see it. I repeat once again no one ever became an addict because of something they saw on a football teams shirt.
  22. There have been a huge amount of studies done on what makes someone an addict, look it up if it interests you. I can tell you what it isn’t. It isn’t seeing the name of a company on a football teams top.
  23. Interesting point. I wonder how many people in the UK bought dimplex or Sanderson (still no idea what they are) products because they were a sponsor of saints once. Have we all got Aon insurance on our Chevrolets because they sponsor Man U? Do we fly eithad everywhere because they sponsor Man City? Sorry but it’s all bullshit virtue signalling every saying it’s a disgrace a betting company sponsor a football team. Not one single person has ever become addicted to gambling because they saw a company name of a football shirt, the issues that lead to it run far deeper.
  24. I’ve never meant anyone who has became a compulsive gambler because they saw an advert on a football teams shirt. In the same way I’ve never meant an alcoholic who became an alcoholic because of something written on a football teams shirt. Be interested to know if anyone else has.
