Seeing as we don't have a derby its good to have some matches with a bit more needle.
-
Agree. It is one thing gathering data and opinions on prospective appointments though and another thing having to put it into action. I imagine we have been looking more towards next summer in terms of making a change so would require a certain amount of luck at things falling into place as well as the notorious planning.
-
Maybe in terms of last season he was right. But from everything we have seen with Koeman and other pieces about Moshiri's plans I think Everton over the next 10 years will be quite different to Everton before. Lets see how they go.
-
Telegraph article says no imminent appointment but we do have a shortlist.
-
Telelgraph article says appointment won't be imminent but Reed has a shortlist. I think a week or so ago we fully expected Koeman to sign for us.
-
Because by some stage today he will be confirmed as an employee of Everton.
-
We won't go for Pellegrini unless about 5 or 6 others turn us down. Not because he isn't a good Manager but because he isn't what we are looking for. Read Guan's comments, its obvious our profile is of a younger Manager.
-
Being honest we would have thought they were mad sacking Koeman after the season we had unless they had a proven better Manager lined up. No point talking about if we had finished lower because we didn't.

@riccosrant: A change of agents has helped @Everton secure Ronald Koeman while his former agent is trying to take Frank de Boer to @SouthamptonFC. This guy was the first UK based journalist to suggest Koeman was keen on Everton (for which I was slated when posting).

Haven't listened to Motson, but for balance the last few years he has been losing his marbles a bit, so probably not the best pundit to be endorsed by!
-
http://goo.gl/VNxptJ Emery to PSG getting closer. It won't be Pellegrini. Guan said so and is completely right in that he doesn't fit what we are looking for. Saints have specific criteria.
-
This. Aside from JWP and Targett only Reed is nearly good enough to be in the first team setup and you couldn't play him and Clasie together anyway as both are tiny. Who else was Koeman meant to play? A few went on loan and struggled to get starts at MK Dons and Southend whilst the defenders are not better than what we have in the first team.

Papa Waigo as a Timing of Run coach?
-
Reed will have hung us out to dry if he went for Laundry. He loves himself.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/everton-poised-confirm-new-manager-8127187 Possibly interested in VVD and JWP. NB: Media opinion, not my own.

It is. Not sure what to make of Flores. Did well initially at Watford but then ran out of ideas in difficult circumstances with rumours about his future. Would say he represents a downward step from Koeman.
-
http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/marca-leeds-target-flores-has-offer-from-southampton-espanyol-int Marca said a few weeks back we were keen. Imagine he will be discussed at least.
-
Agree. Its a largely awful list aside from about 4 names. Sure Saints will have something up their sleeve.

Basically all the ones it won't be then.
-
Of course not. Anyway, whoever we get we will say was the first choice. Lets just hope that is close to the reality.
-
Sampaoli has no Club record to speak of, would be a crazy risk we won't take.
-
Hope whoever we get its someone we genuinely want, not a 4th or 5th choice. If three weeks ago someone said we should swap Koeman for AVB I doubt many would have loved it.
