Giggs does a lot of yoga.

They came as a pair and will clearly leave as a pair.

What would people list as the top 3 criteria Saints would be looking for in the new Manager? Any order will do. Mine: 1. Work ethic and attention to detail, embracing the various Club departments knowledge. Being a coach and a Manager 2. Ability/willingness to integrate young players into the squad 3. Playing style in keeping with the clubs desired approach, i.e passing, pressing football
-
I don't see why a Posters opinion of a propsective new Manager is anything about a meltdown? People are allowed opinions presumably?
-
And then sacked soon after. Also not popular with some high profile figures at Zenit for boring football. If he had a bad start the media here who already dislike him would make it tough. He is young but still not sure profile wise what else is particularly 'Saints' about him. De Boer would probably get more respect, which may also be considered.

I would think if we approached AFCB they would definitely say no and it would require Howe to kick up a fuss which he doesn't seem like he would do (although many would have said the same about Koeman). With another good season under his belt Howe would be my first choice but not sure he is experienced enough and the core of their squad remains honest British players which differs from ours. I also think his assistant Jason Tindall isn't very good but presume they come as a pair.

Agree De Boer certainly has a good hype machine. Howe might have managed two clubs but he has only been successful at one and a place with lots of specific circumstances that he won't find in another job but I like his demeanour and if push came to shove would he actually be able to turn us down? If we really want him then its a shame they weren't relegated as would have made the choice easier. I'm not sure AVB's on field philosophy is that 'Saints' and he has more connections with PL sides than we tend to like when recruiting - we try to drive loyalty by giving someone a chance. He has already been at two far bigger PL clubs.
-
Fair enough. What do you think AVB has over De Boer? If Dennis Bergkamp was involved too that would be quite a draw. No idea how good a coach he is but could never be a negative to have someone like him involved at your club.
-
De Boer or Howe for me. Or someone left field that hasn't been mentioned. Not now, but Mark Warburton will start getting linked with PL jobs if he does well next season.
-
It will be done soon and we can focus on the important bit: who manages us next season. The longer it all takes the less time there is for the new Manager to plan and settle.
-
No idea but will be good once its happened and we can move onto the next chapter. So dragged out.

If serious, wake up.

Reed did make a clear point recently that Pochettino was the hardest working Manager he has come across and was always at the TG and knew names of all youth players. I think they would like some of that again. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/revealed-how-scouting-philippe-coutinho-paved-the-way-for-mauricio-pochettinos-arrival-at-tottenham-a3240441.html As an aside this was fairly interesting I thought. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/05/harry-kanes-insatiable-appetite-for-self-improvement-makes-him-o/ Not hard to see why MP was successful and why he was a perfect philosophical fit for us at the time. Must be one of the best managerial appointments in PL history when we got Poch, given he was fairly unknown and quite different to the norm. Howe strikes me as potentially the most similar character. Known for work ethic and meticulous planning.

I guess new man will want his own staff anyway. Lee I am not too bothered about. Dave Watson more important because Forster has been very clear that Watson's presence here has been key in him joining and signing a new deal. Would imagine Saints will try very hard to keep him.

Last I heard they were filming a DVD about Saints called "Dream fans" with a Spanish guy called Javi and an old Saints Academy lad called Jacinto Ela Eyene.

Emery, AVB, Howe and FdB all seem to have common characteristics. Emery would be great but seems the most unlikely on paper. Of the rest AVB is probably the most 'proven' but then again he hasn't ever stayed anywhere for more than two seasons and key figures at Chelsea, Spurs and Zenit have disliked him and also his negative approach. He would certainly be a risk and some of the national media have already decided they don't like him. That isn't ideal for a team like ours as we tend to court a bit of a press bashing anyway at times so having a strong and well respected Manager helps the image of the Club. Howe is bright, ambitious, successful at Bournemouth and comes across very well but has a massive question mark outside of that Club. I can understand him not wanting to throw away his reputation at Bournemouth where he is an absolute legend. De Boer probably seems the least risky and would probably provide the most continuity to Koeman. I would pick him on that basis although would be interesting to know why he has struggled to get a PL job til now despite almost begging for one. Exciting/interesting times assuming Moyes is not in the frame. That would be awful.

Its already been sorted out according to Reed's now ill fated YT interview.
-
Good old Kirk haha.

The reaction to Koeman going has been very mild from Saints fans. Nobody has really lost a grip and most are just looking forward to seeing who we bring in.
-
But its up to them how much they pay. Even regardless of the additional Moshiri money, the TV income alone dwarfs £7m. If they think Koeman is the right man then thats their perogative. I don't see how on any of the available evidence it means that Moshiri is in any way like Vincent Tan or Assem Allam. They will do what they want to do as will Saints move on and keep doing well. Koeman is a good Manager and a good choice for them. He did a great job at Saints and if he was Moshiri's first choice then all he has done is paid to get who he feels is the best man for the job. We do ok out of it so everyone is happy.
-
Confirmed as fake too.
-
They came on here for a nibble and have ended up feasting. If people don't respond they will go away.
-
True, plus we could probably give him a pay rise fairly easily. Just hard to see him achieving much new apart from working in a different league but I guess thats the attraction. Do well at Saints potentially and then it opens doors that might be closed just now.
-
Based on what exactly. Surely its pretty logical that if you are investing a lot of money you want someone leading your organisation that you genuinely rate and want to lead your investment? Its a lot of money for a Manager but relative to player costs and the TV money its nothing. If you read about Moshiri you will find he has been in football for a long time at a very well run club in Arsenal. We may want Everton to fail, but there are some wild assumptions being made with no real substance. I remember lots of similar things when we got taken over, mostly jealousy, from fans of other teams. It turned out fine for us and I am sure Everton's new investor will do well for them. Koeman was a sound choice and I can't see anything to suggest that Moshiri will do anything like what happened at Cardiff or Hull.

Although he must be set for bigger offers you would think than Saints. If you win 3x Europa Leagues and can't make an obvious step up its a bit odd.
