It is true in many ways that last bit though. We are a well run club but we absolutely are a stepping stone club. We are highly likely the best club in the UK at the moment relative to our natural size also.
-
Absolute rubbish and both of those were good decisions anyway. If Adkins felt totallt wronged he wouldnt continually praise Saints and come back as a Manager forna testimonial. It is in fact the opposite. Good Managers are interested (like good players) because they know we won't stand in their way if they do well and get a better opportunity.

Pretty obvious Pellegrini doesn't fit our profile at all.Interesting Guan mentioned FdB is on the list. So that is FdB, AvB, Emery, Howe and Moyes that he has pretty much said are being looked at.
-
Not really, no.
-
Its great that Sam Gallagher, Jake Hesketh, Cedric and JWP are glad to see the back of Koeman but I am more bothered by what the likes of Bertrand, Forster, Van Dijk and Long think.
-
According to Crooks lackey he actually told "pals" he is happy at Bournemouth. I'm sure he is happy there to be honest. Glad his pals have set the record straight to the M&Y News Agency!
-
Get the feeling Saints would just be a convenient way of remaining in England rather than something that would genuinely excite him though. And you could hardly blame the guy for that. Don't see it.
-
From Guan's shortlist of four, two are under 40 and another under 45. Don't see Pellegrini. He doesn't have much in common with the other likely candidates.

This. Also worth remembering the behaviour of Mane in the process of joining us. Players acting up to get what they want is becoming increasingly common.
-
I just think what Villa did has nothing to do with Everton. They have sensible, successful people involved. Certainly nothing suggests trouble to me despite how much we may want it to.
-
Of course yes, its across the board with Managers - they are generally cheap compensation wise.
-
Yeah for them, if thats who they really want to lead the club then its nothing. But in terms of the norm for Managers its a lot.
-
Is funny how £5m for a Manager seems (and is) a lot yet we would spend more than that for a 4th choice CB like Gardos. Managers generally are undervalued relative the importance of their role. Probably relatively few have ever cost more than £5m and Koeman only had one year left too.
-
He said "using the method Everton are about to employ" as if all foreign investors do the same thing. Any fan would rather have and spend money than not have it yet the comments on here suggest Everton are doing to spend without a plan which is pretty much just made up. Moshiri has been around football for years and Koeman is a solid Manager. They are also looking at bringing in the excellent Monchi from Sevilla. Sure they will be fine and probably nothing like Villa just like Saints were nothing like Villa either.
-
Fair play, quite a few Managers out of work so they must really want Koeman if they will pay that much plus a huge salary. Must be a good time to be an Everton fan with that and suggestions of a big summer transfer budget.
-
Out of interest how do you know Everton are going to do the exact same as Villa? Wasn't the issue with Lerner that he got bored after a few years? Given Everton's investor has been in place about 2 months or so I am calling bull****.

PEH - Pale Eddie Howe?

We were linked with paying about £8m for this guy a few summers back. Available for peanuts now. Looks like a good miss: http://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2016/paok-salonika-in-talks-for-jean-armel-kana-biyik/ -

Its baffling they allow him to do it really. -
We won't pay (not should we) what Walcott wants and getting Chambers back on loan would just be a bit pointless.

@jsullivanwhu: NEWS - we are close to a deal on an International winger. that might conclude in about 12 days, if everything goes to plan! Most likely Gokhan Tore. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6khan_T%C3%B6re -

West Ham don't give up do they haha: http://www.claretandhugh.info/vardy-agrees-irons-deal-then-moves-on/ -
LOL. He decides what he does not Saints. We might not be overly fussed bu we havent "moved to shift him on".
-
If Koeman is getting a big pay rise he will make sure the others do too. Sammy Lee likely to be most annoyed if our new guy doesn't him around because he won't be going to Everton.

Whilst I don't dount that is correct, the Manager isn't there to be well liked, he is there to get results: which he did. At every club a section of players will dislike the Manager..it is only a problem when they all do and it affects performances.
