  1. Good that they are losing, but they are good enough to come back and win.
  2. Its Man Utd that have had the change of heart. At the end of the day our players probably love it at Saints and aren't actively seeking to leave, but if Man Utd give you a concrete offer then you go. If an offer doesnt materialise then you stay.
  3. I haven't ever said that anyone is **** apart from Gazzaniga. Haha. I have said that Long was a poor signing for what we paid. He was outstanding yesterday to be fair. But I still feel we massively overpaid for him. JWP I feel needs to kick on. Aside from that the players who play regularly are quality and Ive never said any different.
  4. Best: Aguero, Hazard, Kevin Friend Worst: Williamson (again), Cattermole, Vlaar
  5. He may do. But is he good enough to play 30 odd PL games in a position that isnt his best? You need two specialist players for each position, a Yoshida/Stephens is ok for one or two games i.e as a third choice, but not as second. With a proper no 2 keeper we would already have Europa League wrapped up.
  6. Would assume we also would be looking for RB cover as currently that is just Toby and there isnt anyone in the U21s that plays that position naturally who is near to PL level. We got quite lucky this year as Clyne rarely missed a game, but with Europa possibly on the horizon we definitely need another proper RB.
  7. If we only lose Morgan and Toby (who we don't own) then thats a whole lot better than last summer. New contracts for Jay and Clyne didnt look all that likely a short time ago so great news.

    Mane

He is going to be a superstar. Goal record probably only second to Hazard and Sanchez in his sort of position.
  9. Agree. When he is on form he is a very good striker. Was a quality header. We allowed Bacuna too much time and space to cross but after that....fair play.
  10. I guess a family member or friend of Clyne.
  11. 7th most likely for us, although 5th absolutely there for the taking this season. Hopefully City beat Swansea tomorrow then our last game is virtually a free hit to see if somehow we get a result and Spurs mess up.
  12. Brilliant performance. Mane will be a superstar. Absolutely superb signing. Whole team bossed it and compared to end of last season what a great buzz around the club, especially if Clyne signs a new deal next week.
  13. Swansea vs Man City tomorrow is huge for us. Hull are surely gone so not sure any of the other relegation games are as big as they may have been.
  14. Is it slightly odd to have JWP as the main model of the new shirt considering he wouldnt get in most fans first XI? I'm sure Man Utd won't use Paddy McNair for their launch, or Everton Luke Garbutt. Also why not show the whole kit rather than just the shirt?
  15. Why is that? Because they have the same style kit as us, like every year?
  16. This. No more. No less. Plus, its a kit. We have one every year and they are by nature variations on a theme. Nobody is going to be either i.) buzzing or ii.) distraught by this announcement.
  17. So as well as Stoke, Spurs also have a sash, for their home shirt. Its a bit....#spursy IMO. Not as good as classic white.
  18. Brilliant if Clyne also signs a new deal. If we could last the summer just losing Morgan and Toby then we should be well placed to have another good season next year.
  19. Good interview from Reed. Realistically all we can do is be there as a solid option for Clyne if the bigger club offers don't materialise. If he stays then great, if not we get a decent fee and look for someone else. Far better though to know early on rather than last summer where the fiascos all went on too long. If players like Clyne or Morgan are to leave then get them out and replacements in before pre season starts.
  20. The Northern Journos like Ogden, Ducker and McDonnell have been mentioning Clyne as a done deal to United for months, the same way they were "briefed" about Shaw. With the Saints reopening talks and Alves speculation it suggests to be that someone is trying to hurry a decision along.
  21. Telegraph says Saints have scouted Begovic and he will leave Stoke for £8m this summer as they won't make him their highest paid player. Doubt we would make him ours either though and I doubt we would get a properly established world class no 1 in as would be a waste of wages and another Boruc fiasco when Forster is fit again. Someone miles better than Tremmel though seeing as they will be playing most of the season. We actually need two keepers in the summer, because none of the others we have are viable options for PL football and if the new guy also picks up an injury (very possible) then we haven't cured the problem. Davis is beyond his best (which was never PL quality in any case), Gazza is nervous, Cropper ****e, Britt won't be make it. Need a proper clearout and give the coaches people they can work with, improve and who are not an actual embarassment. Also linked with the highly rated Woodman, not for the first time... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-interested-newcastle-united-rising-9242541
  22. Reckon Terry will ever be up to it? Does seem odd not to have Carberry opening.
  23. Positive was Edwards bowled well today and once he gets more overs should do a good job. But overall too many players that fail when the pressure is on. Not sure how old Terry is but whenever he got a chance last year he wasnt near to being up to it either.
  24. Ha. Probably that unless we get Europa Long will have little chance of starting games for us. He really was a poor signing. Will be brilliant to have Jay back. He and Mane will cause all sorts of problems next year.
  25. Fantastic news. Really hope he can stay injury free. Hope he gets the chance to play as a striker too in addition to out wide.
