They may do, was thinking just based on the fact we are clubs with a similar aim, and roughly similar budget, i.e a direct competitor in the league. If Mitchell was leaving for Chelsea or Utd then they probably wouldnt be interested in the same players as us, whereas Spurs are shopping in the same sort of market as us, so he will take with him a lot of knowledge that could be useful to Spurs.
-
Probably not to be fair, no. Maybe a bit of knowledge re the terms of our option deal for Toby?
-
Also not ideal for him to leave for a club that probably has similar transfer targets to us and less than 2 months before a window. Also an indepth knowledge of the contract situations of the likes of Jay, Morgan, Clyne, Toby etc.

Spurs have a state of the art training ground that is considered as amongst the best in Europe. So he will be working in a good setup.

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/536169/England-football-James-Ward-Prowse-Jack-Wilshere-international-break-news Roy talking up JWP. For me he isnt good enough defensively in that role.

Sack your source. Looks like Neil Ashton got this one right. Reported in this morning's Echo but says Saints relaxed about his departure.
-
What are you on about? Someone said he owes us because we rehabbed his injury. I said he doesn't owe us and we don't owe him.
-
We don't owe him nor does he owe us. Him joining us has been great for both parties whatever happens now which is either he plays for us (preferred) or we make a big profit on him. Injuries happen all the time, we rehab him because he is currently our player and its obviously in our interests to have him fit and in his interests to get fit quickly.
-
From his perspective the trebled wages would be a big consideration. As for oweing us, you could argue a 20m fee for someone you bought for 6-7m means he owes us nothing. We would (and have) been mutully beneficial for each other.

Schneiderlin injured and withdraws from France squad

Tadic missing Serbia's friendly with a knee injury apparently according to svetac on the Intl thread. Hopefully just a precaution. -
Agree. Only ever seems to perform for Eng U21s and was dropped by Norwich recently. No Championship goals this season.
-
Hiddink on borrowed time regardless of what happens today. Might be better just to get it out the way, have them lose today and then Koeman to say "no" which he has pretty much said he would at the moment. Otherwise it will just come round again when they lose in 2015.

As Mane (plus Mayuka) will miss a month from mid Jan we would be mad to sell Jay Rod given the opportunity we have. In January we need to be covering for Mane's absence not weakening attacking options which are already quite light in number. Would be crazy if we let him go then Pelle or Tadic got injured with no Mane around. Keep him til the summer then sell if he refuses to sign a new deal.
-
No goals for Redmond in the Championship this this season. Not his main job, granted, but in our system the front three all need to be a goal threat. Not convinced.
-
Sterling does his best work out wide. So we play him in the middle.

Schneiderlin injured and withdraws from France squad
Saint Charlie replied to stevy777_x's topic in The Saints
Especially when it looks like Mayuka and Mane could miss a month at the ACON. Attacking options would be very thin then. No way Jay can be sold in January really. -
Hopefully we can sign him up to a new deal. He has the quality to be the England right back for the next 5 years.

Morgan tweet says his injury is not serious but needs supervision. -

OS says Morgan had a scan on injury to right adductor. Now on way back to Soton for assessment. Bad time to pick up an injury with so many games coming up but we have had a good run injury wise until now. -

Why does this season feel so different to last?
Saint Charlie replied to norwaysaint's topic in The Saints
Exactly so makes it better in comparison to last season when most of us thought we had a good chance of top 10. This year is a lot more unexpected and is brilliant. -

Last year it was good at this point. Everyone loved Lallana, thought Lovren was one of the best signings we have ever made etc. Because we were a good team and those players were excellent. But then we had a run of 7 or 8 matches where we barely won, mostly because we only had one goalie (still do) and had a third choice CB in Hooiveld who was hopeless. Unfortunately he and Gazza played a few matches at the same time and made big mistakes that set us back. We have 25 points from 11 games. It took us 18 games to get the same total last season. We probably also appreciate it more because of the **** summer and its nice to prove people and the media wrong. -
Ha. Not saying that is the case. But many used those players as a way of criticising Cortese. End of the day a club of our size can never go and buy the finished article, we are seen as a stepping stone to a CL team and the past 2 years have had and do have numerous CL quality players. No Scouting team will have a 100% record but Levy obviously has looked at how we spent some of our 100m versus how they spent theirs. He has identified Mitchell as someone he wants and may well get him. How important has Mitchell been to Saints? None of us know for sure, but if he goes it is a blow of some sort, especially as it might be to Spurs. But backroom staff move around for reasons other than size of club. He may just want a different challenge after making our department sustainable over the last 3 years.

Weren't Mayuka, Ramirez and Osvaldo Cortese signings with MP also having a big say re Osvaldo?
