I would say it means Swansea and Sunderland also want him. No reason Celtic would be keen to sell to us rather than them and at the moment they are the ones with firm proposals on the table. Poyet nearly signed him for Brighton at the time he went to Celtic and has rated him for ages. Maybe the fee is too high for us?

I actually have some sympathy for Schneiderlin. Of all those who have left (bar Lambert) he was the one who had earned an opportunity and until today was handling everything in the right way and showing respect to the club. The club picked the wrong person to make an example of, if anyone it should have been Lovren or Chambers. If we have gone back on what we promised him because of some fans moaning then that doesnt sound like much of a "strategic plan" for this window. That said, he will end up going (we don't want to keep unhappy players) and Krueger will have to go as well after guarenteeing in 3 interviews that MS would stay. All this does is sours the end of a great relationship between Morgan, Saints and the Saints fans. Pathetic management.

Sounds like a Schneiderlin replacement. Or Cork. Good player though.

Exactly. They allowed a precedent to be set and now any players knows if they kick up a fuss and "don't want to be here" then we will sell them. Schneiderlin will be the latest to leave on bad terms - a huge shame when he obviously loved playing for us and we loved having him. If Jay can find a nasty streak he will do the same shortly.

Fair play to him for going on there, answering all questions and not trying to squirm out of anything. Whether it's true remains to be seen, but he couldn't say much more. Pretty clear from what he said that he personally had little input into the sales. Also, whilst saying MS and JR aren't going, he didn't really answer the question about what would happen if they both said they wanted to go.

Sounds like Gough will give him a grilling in his own special (semi literate) way.

He was very clear. No way he could wriggle out of having confirmed they would be staying, so will be interesting to see what happens.
