Too easy to say. If he really felt that he could easily have put an end to Spurs speculation.

If the club know he intends to leave or get the feeling that he will, then the way we have handled his whole episode is horrendously weak and hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Right decision to let him go as he doesn't contribute at this level but overall has done ok and had some decent moments including some vital goals. IMO similar to someone like Chaplow on the overall impact level in his SFC career. Will be interesting to see where he moves to.

Would be a strange scenario. A new deal would probably come with a pay rise and clauses so if he stays I am sure he would sign a new contract.

Good to see them come through, but would be shame for them to effectively replace some of the younger players who are starting to fulfil their potential like Shaw, Lallana. Imagine if it were to supplement them, thats the only way the team will improve - despite the quality from the academy it has little impact upon the success of our first team. In the last 10 years the only Academy player who has made a tangible difference to the playing results over a decent timeperiod is Lallana.
