  1. Cortese is a loner and the whole club hates him. Everyone in the offices are considering walking out due to poor working conditions and the club is a horrible place to be. Managers should not be allowed to be sacked after draws. MLT knows best. Alpine Saint's WIFI goes down every time we win but is at full strength after a defeat.
  2. I preferred it in League One. Lallana is a poor captain and doesn't inspire the players at all. Getting rid of the programme sellers is a disgrace.
  3. The white away shirt was a good idea. We would have beaten Man Utd if Adkins had left a shattered Lambert and Lallana on the pitch. We would have beaten United if Richardson had come on to man mark Scholes. Long ball beats pressing every time.
  4. Pochettino only brings Ward-Prowse on because he is a young player and has pressure on him to play them from Cortese.
  5. Not signing Buttner was a huge mistake.
  6. Work has stopped at the training ground because we can't afford to finish it.
  7. Chung showed enough last season that his pace would unsettle top defences. Get Gazza out the team and get another keeper in Jan with more experience, like Butland.
  8. Kelvin could get into the England setup. Lambert wants to leave and won't sign a new contract.
  9. They all have apart from no 10 I think.
  10. 17. We have no money.
  11. 1. We need Billy Sharp, loaning him out was ludicrous and Rodriguez is no better. 2. Chaplow's bite will suit this league as teams don't like you being in their face. 3. Schneiderlin is a luxury midfielder who doesnt score, assist or defend and just passes sideways. (Those of this opinion don't post much anymore...we also dont need Richardson as a front sweeper) 4. Transfer policy in the summer was all wrong, we needed Marriappa, Guthrie and Matt Jarvis. 5. Les Reed is evil. 6. Cortese is worse and has no clue re football matters. As a promoted team the target can only be to stay up because thats what Talksport said. 7. Managers who can't speak the local language are pointless and won't be able to speak to the players at all. 8. We should model ourselves on Stoke. 9. Reading beat us to the title because they are just better than us. 10. Fox and Richardson would be adequate Prem fullbacks. 11. Lambert will struggle against top defences because he has no pace. 12. I would rather be in the Championship because the Prem is too commercial. 13. Signing Yoshida is just a marketing ploy, Upson was available and knows English football. What are yours?
  12. I also just remembered the one vs Liverpool when Suarez was played in. Jos tripped over his own feet and let LS in one v one but luckily the ref said Suarez had tripped Hooiveld. To all those quoting other stats its useless winning x percent of headers, x tackles etc if you make basic errors that lead to goals. Hooiveld does this much more than Yoshida or Fonte.
  13. I was joking with those two wallies. End of the day, I can't think of many weaker CBs in the 8th-12th portion of the league and certainly not higher which is where we want to go...
  14. This. We are playing Premier League football and the team is only as strong as its weakest link, which, for all the light-hearted **** takey stuff on this thread, Jos is. Slowly the others have been taken out, Davis, Gazza, Fox, Fonte to an extent...and Jos is unquestionably next. For me there is a quite considerable gap between Jos and the next weakest first XI player (assuming Shaw over Fox), a huge gap.
  15. Sean Morrison at Reading pal! Also Carlos Cuellar.
  16. Lets just stay up first. Most of our players have been overrated of late.
  17. Disagree. I would terminate Jos' contract tomorrow if I could based on his displays this season. I want Saints to be top half and push for Europe and Jos isnt at that level or anywhere near it.
  18. Jos has improved a lot since MP came in, another example of his impact. Better on the ball than he used to be and not as clumsy.
  19. Pointless to do a Fox one seeing as we already all agree. Interesting that many are happy to bury their head in the sand re Jos. Is it because he claps you at the end of the game?
  20. He didnt even mention Hooiveld?! Bizarre post.
  21. Yeah that was a decent block, Fox gets done so easily one to one like that. Otherwise he was ok ish but that piece of play was very poor. Hooiveld should have been out quicker to block the cross before Nolan got to it IMO.
  22. Saints 0 - 3 Swansea Hooiveld og deflecting in shot from De Guzman, pen from clumsy Hooiveld tackle on Dyer, Michu Saints 1 - 1 WBA Rodriguez, Lukaku deflected free kick after Jos foul on Long. Spurs 0 - 1 Saints Hooiveld 84th minute thumping header from excellent Ramirez set piece after Spurs dominate. Bale booked for diving in the box but replays show actually clipped by Jos. Sunderland 1 - 3 Saints Schneiderlin, Lallana and Lambert for Saints after Graham opened the scoring for Sunderland capitalising on underhit Hooiveld backpass. Saints 4 - 0 Stoke Lambert x 2, Ramirez, Rodriguez. Stoke outclassed and relegated. Excellent debut display from Forren in place of Jos.
  23. Opta Joe @optajoe Of the goals conceded whilst lying on the ground, 87% were due to Hooiveld being clumsy, an @premierleague record.
  24. Opta Joe @OptaJoe Of the 34 goals Southampton have conceded this season whilst Jos Hooiveld has been on the pitch, 68% of them have gone in whilst the defender has been lying on the ground.
  25. Re Reading he turned like a tanker in the box and then put a tackle in that was very borderline. For me, it was a poor piece of defensive play being turned that easily and the tackle would often have been awarded as a pen. I can understand the controversy of that opinion, but remember that if City and Utd had scored their pens then it would be 8 errors leading to goals in 23 games which isnt pretty. Re Fulham, he didn't learn from the first one and again stuck his leg out to deflect a shot that would have been saved.
