  1. Good point, unbeaten in 6 now.
  2. Nice to have a bench with good options.
  3. No time for Wives with SW threads to write.
  4. Pretty standard to be honest.
  5. Btw this is just a twitter poll of a lot of fans including many Saints fans, nothing official.
  6. Got to be Morgan. 1. Morgan Schneiderlin 2. Rickie Lambert 3. Jack Cork
  7. Everyone makes mistakes Davie. Its been a long week. You have to BOUNCE back.
  8. Good question. I couldn't do that as I grew up with MLT as my hero and for me he is the highlight of supporting Saints at school in the 90s as I was not born for the 76 Cup Final. However, I could understand if a 10 year old fan for example would agree to this. Fact is that events you actually witness in football are always going to mean more than something you see for the first time on a VHS many years after the event. Apologies if this causes offence.
  9. Anyone received theie tickets yet?
  10. Indeed. I mean English team then pal.
  11. Good thread compared to some others of late. I reckon the UK team would win if the CB's were well protected. Puncheon would destroy Fox. Could easily argue both ways.
  12. Definitely a concern. Must be even more of a concern for Liverpool who dont beat the top teams and failed to beat Reading.
  13. They can't vote for their own teammates.
  14. Interesting theory and not as far fetched or outlandish as some would have you believe.
  15. IMO Michu is definitely best value signing of the season, but thats not what the PFA award is.... Rafael should have ben in the YP nominations but that category is essentially a waste of time because if Bale doesn't win it then something is wrong. For me Bale should win both. POTY: 1. Bale 2. Mata 3. Suarez YPOTY: 1. Bale 2. Benteke 3. Lukaku
  16. Welbeck has one PL goal this season. Nastatic and Schneiderlin would have been more deserving, Wilshere also has barely made a contribution to Arsenal. Main list players are all deserving IMO although of course others are equally too.
  17. Whoever the Manager was would probably select the ones that get picked at the moment.
  18. Clearly if you look the Hammond thread wasn't mine. And its an interesting debate, Cups arent what they used to be, and too many teams live in the past. Fortunately the reality is you will never have to chose, but even if you adapt it to a preference over a cup win or European qualification then its an interesting debate.
  19. Personally I wouldnt for Europa League but certainly would for Champions League. Don't see what is wrong with wanting to see the Club I support being successful in my own lifetime? Would a Liverpool fan born in say 1995 be happy to go through their life and not win a title and somehow expect to be comforted by things that they were not even alive for? I loved watching the 1976 videos etc, hearing the stories and respect the achievement, but I was born in 1987 so for me the successive promotions were the only real success I have seen - if we got in the Champions League I would happily swap that for winning I cup I wasn't alive for.
  20. Steve del Ridder featuring a lot in the pre-match gallery....#onthebench
  21. To the dissentors - do you think Liverpool fans would hand back two of their titles in the 1980's in return for winning one next year? Of course they would.
  22. Pretty sure its Schneiderlin...
  23. Simple question: if the 1976 cup win could be deleted from football records, but Saints get into Europe next season would you think thats a good sacrifice? I would as the past is often forgotten anyway but the present is more relevant today and would be more of a talking point. At my work my peers don't know who won the cup in the 1970s but they do know who is where in the league in the present day. Its a tough choice because silverware is important but I could do without our name etched on the cup if it meant European footy next season.
  24. That's Schneiderlin you oaf.
  25. Best Hammond moment was goal vs Leeds last season. Waigo was probably JPT goal or keepy uppies on pitch parade after signing.
