  1. A believer that top 6 is certainly achieveable next season with 2-3 good additions this summer.
  2. Top 6 I would say, with 4th a bonus. A finish outside the top 6 and IMO, unless we sneak into the Europa League in 7th or 8th I reckon Poche would get fired.
  3. Ha - I just have a realistic belief as outlined in the OP rather than winning trophies we arent even entered into! Admire the belief though, it is pulsing through the veins of the club and city at the moment.
  4. Not sure we can win the Europa League next season without being in it Im sure the year after we would have a shout though, unless we are top 4.
  5. After a spell of 10 league games in charge for Pochettino we have gathered 15 points. A very good return, and if we are honest it should be more as we battered Wigan 2nd half and also deserved a point at Utd. We have developed in a short time a playing style that can beat the best, and a steely determination and confidence instilled by Poche and his team. For me, if we make the right additions we can push into the top 6 and maybe top 4 next season as I see little between us and teams like Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal. We also must be in with a shout of a domestic trophy because of the spirit in the camp allied to the on field ability. We have golascorers, goal creators, midfield dynamos and full backs that would get into any of those teams, and if we improve our central defence and squad depth we can really push on under the leadership of the Sheriff. I'm a believer....are you? Pochettino will lead Saints to success IMO Swap: JPT for Champions League?
  6. Agree, he has 1 PL goal and probably not many more assists. He has no first touch and no composure. He is Fergie's fourth choice striker yet is a first choice for England. But for me the worst thing is what have he, or Tom Cleverley done to earn playing for England? They havent had to play consistently well at all. They now will be in every squad unless injured for the next 10 years (or at least until they move to Middlesborough or Sunderland).
  7. With as good form as he has probably ever been in I doubt JR will let a bug stop him playing.
  8. Good, if rarely applicable.
  9. Carroll confirmed by SA as being fit to play but Noble, Joe Cole, Winston Reid and McCartney won't be back in time.
  10. Shaw is class, but that article clearly doesn't state he has signed anything. The point I was making is I think he will stay, but if anyone goes it will be Shaw IMO.
  11. If there is a major departure the only one it will be is Shaw. All the others are nicely signed up or have just signed new contracts.
  12. I agree with MLG and will be watch Sam Allardyce's pre match presser in full via West Ham player to see if he mentions when Carroll started feeling ill.
  13. No way Arshavin should even be considered. Pretty sure we will continue (rightly) to go for young improvers.
  14. Clearly just thinking wow he is a Premier League player.
  15. If he prooves his fitness again til the end of the season down the road I would take David Connolly back on a one year deal in the summer. Superb player and would definitely get goals in the Prem. Also a model pro for others to learn from. Was also very impressed with Gary Jones in Bradford's run to the Cup Final - all action CM that would be good backup for Cork and Morgan. A top wide man like Ince or Lens would be great too. If we got those 3 or 4 plus Boruc that would help us kick on.
  16. Agree. He has changed what we do quite significantly in a short time. The pressing is one visible change but the increase in confidence and belief is huge and IMO not something NA could have instilled as MP has done. Listen to NA now...he was talking after the game about being upset because Reading have "a winning mentality". Do they really? 7 defeats in a row suggests otherwise. Pochettino is just a more authentic character IMO and you can see why the players would respond to him. As I said last week someone who has been on the coaching pitch during both regimes said they loved Nigel and he was a good coach but the sessions under MP are just better allround and the players have really connected with him. Kelvin's recent comments suggest this is the case. If Im correct, under NA we hadnt beaten anyone above us in the league apart from Newcastle at home.
  17. He deserves praise, simple as. We are a better team than before he arrived so it was a good choice. He will make mistakes etc but NC made an astute decision IMO.
  18. Adomah has 7 goals this season and Bolasie an impressive 3. Neither of those are good enough for us. Ince has been very impressive this year, much more than Zaha.
  19. Ditto Adomah, look how many actual goals and assists they get.
  20. Isnt it meant to be "operational" from about October?
  21. Certainly Boruc would also be good.
  22. Same as Lallana I think? Its only really Shaw who we need to sort out this summer in terms of contracts I think.
  23. If it is anything to do with Cork then apparantly his record this year in league games is as follows: P21 W8 D8 L5 32 pts = 1.52 pts per game Over the course of the season of 38 games that equates to 58 points which last season would have been good enough to finish 7th. Our upturn in form certainly coincided with him and Shaw coming into the side as well as obviously other factors too.
  24. Might be Calum Chambers.
