  1. Playing some first team football as a second choice LB at a top club being paid lots more before becoming a first choice aged 21 or 22? Look at Owen, Wilshere, Walcott etc - all played loads of games as a very young teenager and all plagued with injury problems.
  2. wtf?
  3. True - it probably doesnt matter for us because in 3 years he won't be here and it will be someone else's problem - but in an ideal world if you were his advisors would you actually want him playing every week this young?
  4. Not getting at anyone. He is young and playing a lot of games in the most demanding physical league there is. He got cramp every match until the last couple. For his sake might any deal include a sabatical where he trains but doesnt play for say 2 years, which might then prolong his career beyond that?
  5. Bizarre strategy. Just say it will be 2 months or whatever, he will just get asked about it every week.
  6. Shaw is a young player, with an adolescent and not fully developed skeletal body. Some advice for him would be to think very carefully whether he wants to be playing every week in the pressure, high tempo Premier league, or whether he would be better taking a year or two off football to prolong his career at the top level. If he took a sabatical and then came back to Saints in 2014 I reckon it could give him another 3 or 4 years at the top level later in his career in his late 20's, early 30's (where he would be a better play and at his peak). if Michael Owen had done this he would still be a regular starter for a Champions League team now- although may not have scored that goal vs Argentina. I wonder which he would prefer.
  7. From Helsingborgs?
  8. Silence is deafening. IMO the club need to comment on Jonno's future, whether he is injured or has been offered a new deal. Simon Peach will probably ask NA.
  9. 10. My Metalist boys have just been drawn against Newcastle in the Europa League. Reckon they will be too strong for Pardew.
  11. He has a pro contract - 3 years. He will get offered another when he is 18.
  12. We know he will be out for weeks. Just dont know how many.
  13. If we havent its probably because he has indicated that after all thats happened he would like to make a fresh start elsewhere. You couldnt blame him.
  14. Worse would be bare chested fat blokes and even worse if said fat geezers had Saints tattoos.
  15. Team spirit and first Prem away win...
  16. Big Sam Disappointed
  17. Watford Away Lambert Hattrick
  18. Not sure if there is a blanket approach, probably some do and some don't. Don't get me wrong, Im not a fan of it - but it is well known Saints do it, and so do other organisations so every time tickets go on sale is there a need to bring it up as if its a suprise?
  19. Not acceptable necessarily but not out of pattern with other sporting events.
  20. Hopefully after some recent displays the coach will phone him and tell him he is building the team around him. Would be a big blow to QPR to lose him.
  21. TICKET TAX SYSTEMS ARE APPLIED TO NEARLY EVERY SINGLE EVENT YOU BUY A TICKET FOR THESE DAYS! Its not like Saints are the only ones who do this.
  22. To be fair with Sterling QPR were powerless, he was 15 I think and could pretty much go where he wanted.
  23. I read the chat - basically says that Liverpool and Evertona re among the clubs keen. His representatives want to sort out a Prem team for him but one where he will play as a first choice. My opinion is that we signed Gazza instead of Butland. NA clearly rates him and he has loads of potential. The same reasons people wanted Gazza dropped apply to Butland, he is young, inexperienced and makes errors. The difference is he costs 6m to Gazza's 1m.
  24. Think he will be touch and go. The key vs Sunderland is to stop Johnson and McClean out wide and make sure Sessegnon has a poor game. Fletcher just finishes the chances they create. Rose aside their defence is poor and slow.
  25. Think he might have retired.
