Some value in that but lets face it Ramirez is certainly not a problem for us, let alone one of our biggest. He is 21 year old immensely talented player who is adapting to a new culture on and off the pitch. Up and down form but undoubted talent and on occassions has transformed the side. He has missed games through injury and bereavement and started off in a hugely underperforming team getting beaten every week. All that is counting against him is his transfer fee which for a team like ours is huge, but as a whole in the Prem is average. Fletcher cost more, Henderson more and Jarvis a tiny bit less. I would rather have Ramirez to watch than any of those. Sorry if you dont agree but watching Ramirez is for me one of the best things about watching Saints and easily of any of our players he will have by miles the most successful career (plus possibly Shaw). He had a poor game, no way a poor player and he has played exceptionally for us at times. If he did it every week aged 21 he would be at a top four team and would cost 30m!

Yes, we didn't play well. That can be nothing to do with selection, just players not playing well. -
Was class, is class but totally different type to Bale or Theo.

Mayuka is a striker and Gaston a midfielder though so it did make sense. Agree Gaston is better centrally but then the left becomes an issue. Not a lot wrong with the initial choice at the time, easy to use hindsight. -
Good on them. My Dad asked a member of the coaching staff that he knows at the game today and he also refused to say anything.

So you are saying we are relegated 'fact' if we don't get a win at Fulham. Despite the fact we could lose and still be outside the relegation zone. It is a ridiculous overreaction. -
Ramirez off Lambert and Guly wide left for me.

Often trying that special pass though, a lot more risky an a sideways 10 yarder.

That is utterly ridiculous. -

For De Ridder yes IMO. Starting lineup was logical without AL. -

Best bit was when his running won a free kick then he nearly kicked it out of play. Puncheon the only midfielder who looked a potential goal threat IMO. De Ridder is pace without skill, doesn't work at this level. -

Shaw, Puncheon, Fonte and Cork the only ones that turned up. Davis' kicking is so poor and De Ridder sub bizarre. Was poor in the Champ so no surprise he was poor again. We know he is fast but is utter crap with the ball. -
Also strange that losing a game 1-0 brings out all the doom mongers. More posts after a loss than a win, some people have a very negative attitude for me.

Clearly hasnt been 'awful'. The whole team were poor today including Gaston, but he is clearly class - a couple of bits of wonderful play today despite the overall poor display.

This thread demonstrates zero % knowledge in how Saints transfers work.

10 weeks would tie in with THEVMAN's comments and seems realistic. Not sure where the rumours he would be back soon have come from apart from Simon Peach.

Bold post Davey. Very bold.

For once I agree with the Digster here.
-
Bizarre reasoning! He is of course a good manager but that doesnt make his comments on Walcott correct.
-
Certainly not

Sounds like Fletcher, Johnson and Rose are fit - not sure on Bardsley, think he might be longer term.

Because then nobody would look in/buy the paper. -
I think he got a bit funny when asked about the injuries. He did seem slightly odd - he never joined in the same warm up as the other players but used to dribble a ball around in his own little world and tap it into an empty net from 3 yards over and over again.
-
No - he never died. He hated that song when it was sung at Plymouth. In the same game his shot that hit the bar would have been a worldy if it went it.
