Exactly right. Could be just the kind of guy who could be very useful. With Papa impressing and Antonio also looking decent we seem to have much more pace in and around the squad. And pace is so important in todays game.
-
Where did you get your FM data from then seeing as most sources say (probably wrongly that he is around 6'2)? Surely you didnt just make it up?
-
Well regardless of how tall he is, he is pretty well built, certainly compared to Dyer etc, he was a junior sprinter afterall. And glad he is back from a nasty injury. Potentially good player!
-
Great to see him back for the reserves. Perfect for this league. Big, strong, quick and direct. Can play out wide ore even up front. Good option for Pards to have. No need to rush him back but ideal player to come off the bench.
-
Looks like he may sign: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8309198.stm Wouldnt be suprised if he did and was then loaned out to L2 to BSq Prem.
-
Home draw, can't ask for more than that. And if we win then the 2nd best team in southern section are out.
-
Hasnt featured in a league squad for them and judging by Ince's 'we have brought him in to have a look at him' comments Im worried that we might sell him. Its clearly not a loan to gain experience. Bizarre as he seems a great prospect!
-
He was on loan in L2 last season so that is a bit of a step down TBF. Hopefully he will bang them in but time is running out for him to make it with us. Sad but true.
-
Anyone else found that if playing online and you filter the teams you want to play against ie 2-3 stars then it says Saints are not within the selected range, even though they are a 2 star team?
-
Second that. It was excellent and Hodgson himself is a credit to the game.

Lallana is class. Where are all the doubters now? As soon as we put him in more dangerous areas he produces. Two great finishes.

Is it such a good idea to have them situated where they are? Is it a coincidence that we have conceded very important goals at home to Millwall, Brentford and Bristol Rovers when away teams were shooting towards their fans? Is where the away fans are situated a factor? I think it certainly lifts teams when they are attacking towards their own fans, and certainly worked for both Millwall and Rovers, who noticeably improved when they could get their fans involved, it must give players a lift. Solution? I think we should try to kick towards the Northam in the second half. This would negate the effect of the away fans in the second half and also could provide some impetus to us in the same way it has helped the away teams. We often seem to fade as an attacking sense in the second half so maybe this would lift the players when it really counts? Or, move the away fans into a corner. Does this have an affect on matches and possibly results? I know that its players who win matches and something like this is obviously no excuse for results, BUT, it certainly does the away team no harm kicking towards their fans in the second half and Pardew did say he wanted SMS to be more intimidating...maybe its time to think about these things? Or maybe it makes no difference? Thoughts?

Can someone post the complete Saints squad with ratings?

If we had taken one of the excellent chances at 2-1 we would have won. It was 45mins quite good, 25mins excellent and 25mins bloody rubbish. We wilt when under pressure.

Wonder if thats true? Was going to ask where is best to pre-order it?
-
After a cameo and two decent sub appearances is this the time to throw him in from the start? We could certainly use his pace and the extra options it would bring. Up front he would also help create space for Lambert with his movement. We need to take the game to Rovers and he would give the crowd a lift. Or is he better coming on as an impact sub?

Deano, there's only one Deano! Superb so far, a leader on the pitch!

So true. Many of the questions were worse than Paul Wotton's passing. They should take more email questions or at least vet the questions from the floor to avoid the loudmouths with nothing to say....
-
Boom boom is definately the best option.

He is on 5live now. Said has his brace off and is hoping to be running in a week or two. At first thought it was a career ender but not too bad. Said that he sees physio from 9-4 everyday which is a perk of being a footballer. Comes across as very decent guy, hopefully he will be back soon!

Very upbeat forum. Pardew talks so much sense, can't say I can disagree with anything he said and has said since he got here. Hopfully some of the moaners on here will have heard it too! Sounds like he wants to keep Trotman, fought well to keep Lallana and sees the potential and also failings in Morgan. I think the likes of Gillett, Holmes, Thomson will all be let out on loan. Pards also said he is keen to see Kayne McLaggon play as he could provide the pace we need. Sounds like those within the club have been bigging him up to AP. Only downside is that when the chance is there to ask anything to the main people at the club some of the questions were so long-winded and boring, an hour wasnt enough to cover all the issues. Some of those people who represent so-called supporters clubs don't come across well at all. A little interlectually limited if anything. They don't represent the vast vast majority of fans and nobody really knows their poxy club exists, so it has no weight in any discussion!

So, 1 shot on target in 5 games. Papa had 2 in 10 minutes!

Well to me evaluating his current form would suggest we can safely ignore his form of about two and a half years ago. It isn't really relevant now. Nobody would pick Gary Neville for England because he was our best right back two and half years ago. Simple answer is since he signed permanently Saganowski has been a complete waste of time and has taken home a crazy amount of money earned by massively below par form. If anything his scoring run two and a half years ago should be more worrying as it shows he was capable of playing well for us. However, despite 50 odd appearances since then, he has looked a shadow of that player, and that is undeniable.
-
Its an easy cop out when not scoring to say the midfield aren't creating any chances for you. When did Saga last score? Has he not had any chances since then? Why doesn't he make runs so the midfield can pick him out? Why doesn't he try to get free, or take his man on? What does he actually bring to the team?
-
Is it enough for strikers only to score when the ball is on a plate for them? Shouldn't they look to also create a chance for themselves? Shouldn't they make good runs for the midfield players to find them? Tell me one moment yesterday when Saga made a good run only for the so-alled ****wits to not give him the service? Answer (because Im guessing you didnt actually see the game): He didnt. He runs about a bit which please some people but its not good enough. He is a passenger at the moment.
