Not with a 2 mile long barge pole!
-
He's improving then.

Spot on and it's one of the big differences between us and Coventry who are regularly scoring 4, 5 and more every game. They have a big strong centre forward who scores goals, holds the ball up and brings his team mates into play high up the pitch - we don't now that Stewart is injured again which was always likely to happen. For whatever reason Downs is well off what Spors expected of him and that's not going to change anytime soon. More poor decision making from SR.
-
But if Stewart is out for a long period we need someone now which means the free agent market.
-
Well if he is injured long term we need to sign one of the free agents because relying on Downs is not an option. Emmanuel Dennis is available and he's played for Watford and Forest. He's not perfect but he'd be far more use than Downes. Not the tallest though at 5'9". Got to bite the bullet and find the best free agent we can if Stewart is going to be side-lined for long which is likely the case and we've seen how much time he takes to get back up to speed after injuries. A mess of the club's own making with Spors among the guilty parties.

Just watched the brief highlights and Manning needs dropping for his actions leading to their goal. He may not have felt it was a Derby throw but he is experienced enough to know that once a lino has given it to them no amount of whinging is going to change his mind. He allowed them to take a throw to an unchallenged player and cross it into the box to another unchallenged player who scored with a free header. Edwards needs to be far stronger there. Lots wrong with the goal for Still to look at but Manning must be made to pay for what he did.

Poor coaching or players not up to scratch ?
saintant replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
We don't. They are banging in 4-5 goals every game. They have a brute of centre forward who scores goals and when he gets tired they bring on another brute of a centre forward who scores goals. Their squad and coaching set up is light years ahead of us. -
Yeah because I'm sure they'll have the answers 🙂
-
Have you considered it could be because we ourselves are also in that same lower half of the league?
-
TheIr squad is far superior to ours and better coached. I watched them destroy Millwall and they took off one beast of a centre forward who'd scored two goals and replaced him with another beast of a centre forward who scored a goal. We are miles behind Coventry in every department and should not be in their position on paper or otherwise. Time to wise up that we are a mid table team at best at this moment in time. Thinking we are something we're not only leads to disappointment - we really aren't all that and nor is our squad or manager.
-
This is a massive issue that must be sorted and quick. When we go in front we clearly have no idea how to manage a game and it has happened in the last 3 matches. Instead of going for the jugular we go all frightened and defensive like mice - what we should do is be roaring like lions and shouting 'look what we just did and we're ready to do it again' Cut out the meekness and timidity or we'll continue to struggle when going ahead. Get in front and grow not shrink - what are we afraid of!!! This is really basic stuff but we are repeating this flaw and it's costing us goals and points.
-
So you want the idiots presiding over the demise of our club to knock some heads together? They're the ones who got us into this mess in the first place so hardly qualified to be knocking heads together.
-
There is a brief one - you can find it online by searching Will Still press conference Derby.

I suspect that there may not be any more mugs willing to buy his snake oil. Rangers could be his last job in football management. He's already made enough to last a lifetime so he's probably not that bothered.
-
Sky is saturating the market, close season clubs set up stupid tournaments, players are paid too much, Sky costs too much, tickets for live games cost too much, small clubs don't get their share of the pie, the fair play fiasco is a joke, international breaks - I could go on.
-
These days the only thing JWP is better at than Downes is free kicks.
-
Time he admitted that it's his system that is wrong and will never work. He continues to believe he can coach a side to play perfect passing football and continues to prove that it is well beyond his capabilities. It would be better for him, Rangers and their fans if he tried something different because it might well work and give him a lot more credibility but he seems not to want to admit he's been wrong all this time so would rather keep proving it.
-
Time for us to put in a performance when the weather is bad - we don't seem to cope with the elements too well with the most recent example being Hull away. For me our passing is still not up to scratch and we continually give the ball away under no pressure so that needs to improve. A good victory in the rain will demonstrate we are ready for the fight so let's give it our all and take that into the international break. COYR!
-
I'm sure Nuno was horrified when he saw how much JWP is earning for very little impact on games. He's clearly decided to bomb him out asap and free up a chunk of money spent on his wages.
-
Yeah, good shout that. Could well work because Azaz has not been what we expected so far. Would also like to see Fellows moved from wing back as you suggest because he's wasted there - with Stewart getting the big confidence boost of scoring two goal we need to be supplying him with chances from both flanks.
-
Watched Coventry last night and they are easily the best side I've seen in the Championship this season. Unfortunately they are streets ahead of us so we'll need to continue the progress we're making to get even close to their level. The number of goals they're scoring tells its own story.
-
Coventry looking like the stand out side who are going to run away with the Championship. Beat Millwall 4-0 away tonight and have now scored 22 goals in 8 games. They look very good and have a strong squad.
-
Not if Stewart manages to stay fit.
-
No thanks. Every time I watched him play for West Ham recently he did nothing but jog around and play simple passes. They looked better on Monday without him and he's not popular with their fans for reasons that are obvious. Not taking away what he achieved for us but he's well past his best now so steer clear.
