Can I just say-fair play Nigel. Some folk on here where (quite rightly) concerned that the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and that Nigel had made very few signings here so his ability to draw "stars" had not been tested. With Cork, and this de Ridder chap, he clearly has the ability to attract high calibre footballers (I don't think NA is a stars man anyway FWIW). I know I/we know nothing or very little about The Knight, but the clubs in for him shows me that yep, money talks.... But so can Nigel!

I tell you what, Heskey would do a cracking job in the Championship....! One swallow doesn't make a summer, but The Knight looks OK eh? I quite like the idea that NA will not have anyone that doesn't fit on "the team bus", and his age etc. seems to suggest he looks like he fits our profile of young/talented/grow with the club remit. Given the discussion about the price, I suspect he would've been cheaper than someone like Pilkington given the inflated prices of British talent. Interested to see if our Young Boy rumour has legs now too!

When the West Ham wages were leaked a couple of years back, I seem to recall he was rumoured to be earning 75k a week-that'd be a pretty hefty pay cut! But as others have said, they call Gary Roberts, Andy so I think this story is a non starter. Someone did mention LBM on here the other day (I think on the ITK thread)-could they use this as a source?? If so, and you're reading this, kindly f**k off as we don't want your kind here.

I'd be quite satisfied if we came out of this window with the current squad intact. If we then only signed Cork and Nugent, proven players at this league, I'd be satisfied. We can always supplement any "Jaidi is slow/Connolly is crocked" concerns with a couple of loan signings - in the championship we've a better chance of attracting realistic and quality targets, than in league one. Any ideas what has happened to the Keogh rumours?

SUrely the reason this pace is "dying" is because there is simply no football? As such, there is little to talk about - transfer dealings are shrouded in secrecy, and as such on both counts frustration mounts - hence the slanging matches that even a lurker like me can't seem to escape from. When we can go back to having an opinion on whether "he should have scored that one on one", or "should Nige play a 442/433", I think it'll be revitalised. Shutting up now.

There's a lorra quality (who'll no doubt command expensive wages...) on that list - whilst I am not a doom and gloom merchant, you'd hope that we'd at leasrt be in the mix for a couple of those names!
