Just thought I'd mention that the Rayo fans seem to be liking Gazza so far this month, they seem to realise he is improving, makes the odd mistake and try's his best and they are wondering if they have the option to buy.

Update from Spain bascially saying Mariano Diaz is our alternative and would be a good fit for the Saints. "A new exit ramp opens to Mariano Diaz absence of a few days for the transfer market closes. As reported by Radio CrC , the last club that has knocked the hispanodominicano has been the Southampton English. The squad of the Premier League looking for a striker and have two names on the table. The first is Manolo Gabbiadini. The player Naples is the leading candidate and the British and have offered up to 16 million euros to the Italian club. However, it appears that the operation will not be simple and therefore have a plan B. If finally confirmed that Gabbiadini not leave Naples, Southampton would go for Real Madrid. The front 23 like it in the English team . His physical portentous and his goalscoring ability would fit perfectly into the team Saints . Since last summer market crowd of equipment, most notably Sevilla, Alaves, Valencia, Deportivo de La Coruna, UD Las Palmas, Espanyol, Leganés or Eintracht Frankfurt , have been interested in the striker. Remember that DIARIO MADRIDISTA and told the intention of Mariano Diaz and Real Madrid itself. The scorer wants to continue fighting for his dream of succeeding in the entity of Concha Espina and if he finally had to pack his desire is to get sold." https://okdiario.com/real-madrid/futbol/2017/01/26/southampton-llama-puerta-mariano-159403

We've apparently upped our offer to 18 + 2m (Euros) or 20 + 3 depending what news source you go to. http://www.ilroma.net/news/sport/gabbiadini-il-southampton-non-molla-giaccherini-non-ha-offerte-concrete

He will not join sunderland, I am sure its the Napoli president putting it out there after seeing them get the cash for Van Arnholt and trying to put pressure on us. "The other deal in the foreground is the one for Gabbiadini: yesterday his agent Silvio Pagliari, was in Milan to talk to Southampton but also with the leaders of Naples. The Saints are thinking to reformulate the offer, which does not move from the fixed bases (about 16 million) but that may vary over bonuses: 2 + 2, linked to appearances, goals (10-15) and ranking of the team, plus 10% to Napoli on future possible sale of Manolo. De Laurentiis has mandated not to accept offers of less than 20 million, having declined 23 Everton in the summer. Difficult for the Southampton increases the supply on the base station, you work with a vengeance with great confidence by the British, not quite reciprocated by Napoli." http://sport.ilmattino.it/sscnapoli/napoli_gabbiadini_southampton_l_offerta_puo_essere_quella_giusta-2221419.html

Come on you guys are too slow on the vid's Played with Pierre it looks like as well and I am working on the assumption if he can play for Bayern he can probably play for us https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv0NoQXPAmo

Reckon they are grandstanding for the chinese market at the moment, wanting to capitalise on the news of the final to get more coverage of the announcement.
-
If he can score against Italian defenders then I have no doubt he can do it to the defenders in our league. I think he will play in the middle as a false 9 to link up with midfield and then work with Boufal or Redmond or Tadic or Jayrod in the 2 inside forward positions
-
Exactly that is what I thought the period of exclusivity was for.

Liverpool vs Saints - EFL Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg - Match Thread
Convict Colony replied to Dalek2003's topic in The Saints
Stephens has been immense in that 1st half, redmond very good, tadic not really offering too much tonight -
Ciro Venerable, market expert Rai Sport, it revealed that Manolo Gabbiadini is very close to Southamphton. The British have proposed 16 million plus 4 million bonus, and these are decisive times for the success of the negotiation. The two clubs are negotiating at this time. Gabbiadini is in Milan to take advantage of the day off. Tomorrow is expected in Castelvolturno but everything is related to the negotiation of these hours. For the sale of Gabbiadini, then, could this be the turning point. So basically we are close and if we get it over the line today he could be signing later this week.

Great and very interesting articles based on facts. Looks like Les follows that football Radar twitter

I think we can all agree JWP needs consistency of performance. It's been a long time between drinks since his last great performance in milan. For a guy who gets as many minutes as he does he should be having more games like this and whilst he is young he has played over 150 games for us so I don't think can be used as a reason anymore.
-
I really think it was the tempo and the midfielders looking for a forward pass 1st instead of the sideways and horizontal rubbish we've seen recently. Pass it fast and look to pass it forward as your 1st instinct
-
Yeah agree with you heisiey More direct play, greater speed and even a JWP goal :-) Thought he played well today, thought Pierre was good until he shot Glad for Stephens we didn't concede when he came on good for his confidence.

2 points Jose was never a top premier league player otheriwse he would of gone to a top club (he has benefited from have a defensive system and some of the best CB partners in the EPL next to him) No one with a brain has considered Yoshi a league 1 player based on his performances this season in Europe and League
-
Really am not bothered about this. Jose when he played conceded penalties (Sunderland/Arsenal) or gave the ball away to conceed a goal this season, think yoshi would be hammered for if he did it. Got 8m and the wages off the books for a defender who is probably currently at the same level or maybe slightly below yoshi.
