  1. welcome back V man
  2. At this time of year you've got to go for Jesus Jorge Jesus at Al Ahli
  3. Xai's answer - interesting that is also picked out Matos, will check out this Stephan guy as well One's in green are ones we could get, expect the rest would either reject or their clubs wont let them leave mid season while they are in the hunt for promotion. David Moyes: His extensive experience in the Premier League makes him an appealing choice for a team in immediate danger of relegation. His pragmatic approach could be beneficial for Southampton's current situation. Michael Carrick: Currently at Middlesbrough, Carrick has shown promise in the Championship. If Southampton could secure his services, his tactical acumen and ability to implement an attractive style of play might be what they need to survive, despite the challenge of mid-season integration. Carlos Corberan: Known for his work at West Bromwich Albion and previously at Huddersfield Town, Corberan has a reputation for tactical flexibility and improving teams. His experience could help Southampton navigate the remainder of the season. Graham Potter: Although less likely due to his recent high-profile role at Chelsea and his current status as a free agent, Potter's philosophy and track record with Brighton suggest he could bring a fresh approach to Southampton's survival bid. However, his availability and willingness to take on a relegation fight are uncertain. Danny Rohl: With connections to Southampton as Ralph Hasenhuttl's former assistant, Rohl's work at Sheffield Wednesday has shown promise. His familiarity with the club and the league might make him an interesting choice, though his experience as a head coach is still developing. Mark Robins: His success with Coventry City in the Championship suggests he could adapt to the challenges of the Premier League. His teams are known for being well-organized and hard to beat, which are traits Southampton desperately need. Julien Stephan and Vasco Matos: These are less known names in England but have been mentioned as potential candidates. Both are relatively inexperienced at the top level but have shown promise in France and Portugal, respectively, indicating Southampton might consider a long-term project with a younger manager if they're planning for beyond this season.
  4. 2 out of 3 managers sacked across the clubs over the last couple of weeks, good job the gozteppe manager is doing a good job
  5. Great appointment and rusk in time.
  6. I could see the club going for someone like rohl. Worked here before, also at bayern and national team etc and doing ok with weds who were even more of a basket case than us, knows the championship and even relegated we would be a step up. Saw someone to X say he had admirers in the boardroom but we were likely to go more foreign next which in that case i like the look of the santa clara manager vasco matos who currently sit 4th in the league, likes to have a tight defence and nick goals https://totalfootballanalysis.com/head-coach-analysis/vasco-matos-santa-clara-202425-tactical-analysis-tactics
  7. Not watching the game as watching a cartoon movie about a bull from Spain but fucking hell, Martin has to go now.
  8. Any game another prediction
  9. if it isnt broken, tug it is rasmus's new expression
  10. To be honest the interim manager seems reasonable and makes fair points. Players generally get an easier time than the manager when you see players week after week not thinking clearly under pressure and making mistakes. I think its time to blame the players a bit more now.
  11. wow not looking good for VAFC after last night, now closer to the bottom than the top of the league. There clearly needs to be a step change there, either: Get rid of chorley and get a better DOF to get more out of this team and a new manager or invest some money and buy some players who will make the difference in the 2nd half of the season. I agree that SR have a chaotic style of manager replacement, why not use the 3 week window or in our case international breaks to give a new manager a bit of time.
  12. Posted this in the monkey chicken petting zoo post but more relevant here. Ah, the Championship conundrum: where our players are "too good" for the league yet not quite good enough for the Premier League. I am not even sure the squad we had last year was "too good" for the league. If we're to bounce back, we need more than just the gravitational pull of parachute payments; we need the kinetic energy of tactical innovation, something to galvanise both the team and probably more importantly the fans. We were fortunate last year in the championship that only a few of the team's high pressed enough into mistakes leading to goals, next time round everyone will be doing it next year, we need a different approach.

  14. Already been spell checked
  15. Hopefully they all now have personalised garmin watches that tell them all how useless and unproductive they are.
  16. It takes some doing but this run has finally killed my optimism, we are trash.
  17. Just a genric question as "premier league qualified" is repeated so often. What qualifies a manager to be a premier league manager ? as its phrase that is used to distain so many other managers in other leagues.
  18. Am predicting very few shots on target if any, at least 5 self inflicted errors in our half by playing out from the back. The word brave will appear post match and our best available players will not be the starting XI.
  19. Finally a joke about it 💪
  20. Wait are you trying to make this thread about you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 If we all said you are right and we are wrong will that make us play better football 😔
  21. I'm am getting the feeling that people on this forum make stuff up.
  22. Find him
  23. Someone get up a tree and find out whats happening
  24. Vasco Matos tactics, fairplay to Santa Clara though they are doing great this season recently just beat sporting away, 4th in league. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/head-coach-analysis/vasco-matos-santa-clara-202425-tactical-analysis-tactics "Santa Clara’s defensive compactness allowed them to barely receive any goalscoring chances against themselves." Sign me up
  25. Cooper announcement :-)
